Capítulo 764: Chapter 764: Like a Family

Huo Tingdong asked: “What are they doing in Beijing this ti? I heard they’re forcing you to drop out and want you to return to Yan City to get married?”

Liang Yin responded with a “Hmm”: “I don’t want to get married. I want to… finish my studies and beco a Diplomat in the future.”

Huo Tingdong encouraged her warmly: “A diplomat? Being a diplomat is great.”

In the blink of an eye, Yinyin was already of college age.

Seventeen years, he had missed out on so many years of her life.

He hadn’t had the chance to truly witness her growing up.

It was, without a doubt, a kind of regret.

Liang Yin said: “By the way… if I am your daughter… how did I… leave you all?”

Everything was based on the word “if.”

Huo Tingdong replied: “I’ll tell you slowly when you co ho.”

Liang Yin nodded, half-understanding.

Huo Tingdong looked up at the night sky.

The sky was getting dark.

It was less than ten minutes from curfew.

Huo Tingdong said: “Yinyin, you… should head back to the dorm! Tomorrow… can Daddy co see you?”

Liang Yin: “Sure.”

She was silent for a few seconds, then suddenly her face flushed: “If I really were your daughter, that would be great; being your daughter must be so happy!”

After speaking, she stepped back a few paces, reluctantly walked to the door, turned around, and waved goodbye to him: “Uncle… Daddy, goodbye!”

Huo Tingdong stood there, watching Liang Yin enter the school gate, following her path along the wall. Through the railings, he saw Liang Yin walking and gently wiping her tears.

She cried.

But she didn’t know why she was crying.

Liang Yin wiped her tears while sobbing, occasionally looking up at the sky again and then lowering her head, hugging her backpack, walking step by step towards the dorm.

Huo Tingdong’s eyes reddened unconsciously, but he didn’t make a sound. Until Liang Yin’s figure slowly faded from view, he ca back to his senses, a tear slipping down his cheek.

He took a deep breath, exhaled the stale air from his chest.

His daughter… how could she beco so sensible?

He had even thought that he absolutely wanted to spoil his daughter for a lifeti; it’s best if she’s spoiled by him so much that apart from him, no man can tolerate her. If she can’t get married, he could rightfully support her for life.

But on further thought, daughters always have to grow up; whether she marries or not isn’t her decision.

But regardless of whether she marries or not, he would never allow his little princess to suffer even the slightest grievance.

Seeing Liang Yin being so sensible, Huo Tingdong really couldn’t imagine how much grievances she’d suffered outside over these seventeen years, what kind of grievances?

Huo Tingdong returned to the car, gently pressed his forehead with his large palm, tears silently rolling from the corner of his eye.

For seventeen years, he had been looking for Yinyin, but had never cried.

Because he knew that crying couldn’t solve anything.

However, at this mont, he was afraid.

Afraid the result would be unexpected.

What if she’s not his daughter, what should he do?

He was afraid, so afraid that he was trembling all over.

He had never been so afraid, afraid she was not his daughter.

The phone suddenly rang.

Huo Tingdong answered the phone, and on the other end ca Lin Qi’s voice: “Honey? It’s so late, why aren’t you back yet?”

Huo Tingdong asked: “Have Jinmo and Tinghan arrived ho?”

Lin Qi replied: “They’re ho.”

Paused for a mont, she vaguely heard the nasal tone in his voice, starting to feel a bit anxious: “What’s wrong? Are you… having a cold?”

Huo Tingdong said: “The wind is strong, a bit stuffy nose.”

Lin Qi: “Oh! Are you coming back?”

Huo Tingdong answered: “I’m on my way back.”

Lin Qi: “Okay, I’m waiting for you.”

After hanging up the phone, Huo Tingdong cald his emotions, finally started the car.

Next morning.

Liang Yin was returning books in the library when suddenly her phone rang.

She glanced at the screen; it was a call from Huo Tingdong.

She picked up the phone, answered: “Hello? Uncle Huo?”

Huo Tingdong: “Hmm?”

Liang Yin imdiately corrected herself: “Daddy…”

The previous night, while taking her back to school, Huo Tingdong ntioned that even though the paternity test results were not out yet, she could call him “Daddy.”

Liang Yin agreed.

Huo Tingdong asked: “Are you in class?”

Liang Yin said: “There are no major classes this morning, so I plan to study in the library.”

Huo Tingdong said: “I’m at the school gate, are you hungry?”

Liang Yin checked the ti: “It’s only ten thirty.”

Huo Tingdong: “The cafeteria opens at eleven.”

Only then did Liang Yin realize she hadn’t eaten much in the morning, and now her stomach was still empty.

Liang Yin said: “Alright! Shall we et at the cafeteria entrance?”

Speaking, she unconsciously swallowed.

Huo Tingdong: “Okay, I’ll wait for you at the cafeteria entrance.”

“Hmm.”

Liang Yin returned the newly borrowed book to the classroom, then headed to the cafeteria.

On the way, students were already heading towards the cafeteria.

Before reaching the cafeteria entrance, from afar, Liang Yin saw Huo Tingdong sitting on a bench outside the cafeteria. Passing students occasionally cast questioning glances at him.

The man in front of her, dressed in a suit, seed like he was in his thirties or forties, extraordinary in appearance, hair impeccably grood, clearly not a schoolteacher, but very charismatic.

Huo Tingdong also spotted Liang Yin amidst the crowd, stood up, waved at her.

Liang Yin lowered her head, walking towards him.

A fellow classmate suddenly ran over: “Liang Yin, want to eat together?”

Liang Yin replied: “I have plans today.”

The classmate was a bit surprised: “Who?”

Before she could answer, a warm voice ca from behind: “Yinyin.”

Startled, Liang Yin turned back, seeing Huo Linzhou unexpectedly standing behind her, his eyes soft like misty frost, gently fixed on her: “Let’s eat together.”

Briefly and straightforwardly, he extended a hand, firmly grasping her hand.

Amidst the surprised exclamations——

Huo Linzhou led Liang Yin towards Huo Tingdong.

Surrounding classmates imdiately gathered: “Oh my! Isn’t that Huo?”

“Why is he with Liang Yin?”

“Is that Huo’s dad? Recognizable at first glance, wow, so young, must have been handso when younger!”

“Otherwise, why do you think Huo is so handso! Surely good-looking parents make good-looking kids!”

“Could it be… Huo and Liang Yin are dating? Already at the et-the-parents stage? Indeed… top students always belong to other top students!”

“But… don’t you sense it, Liang Yin standing with them, there’s no sense of discord, like one family…”
