Chapter 749: Chapter 749: Locked Out of the Dorm

Liang Yin said, “Every month, I have to send 5,000 yuan to my parents. I promised them I would do this. For next month’s scholarship assessnt, I also promised them I would send the entire scholarship back.”

That way, they wouldn’t obstruct her from going to university.

Li Junyan didn’t quite know what to think for a mont.

Before this, he thought that Liang Yin must co from a very happy family, or at least a well-disciplined one, to raise such a well-mannered girl.

But he hadn’t expected…this.

Li Junyan asked, “How much is the scholarship?”

Liang Yin thought for a mont, “It should be around 10,000, and if it’s for postgraduate studies, it’s about 20,000.”

Li Junyan: “…”

Is it that low?

Liang Yin said, “Actually, it’s already very good. I’m studying at Jing City University, and they waived all my tuition fees. Besides, I get a monthly stipend, al allowance, transportation subsidy, and also a food stipend. So, there’s not too much pressure.”

Li Junyan’s gaze fell on her.

The clothes and pants she wore were already faded from washing but were clean, with a comforting scent of soap.

Li Junyan said, “I’ve rarely t a girl as hardworking as you.”

In his circle, most young girls he knew ca from affluent families.

They didn’t have to worry about living expenses, nor worry about their parents forcing them to marry soone. They lived carefree lives, wearing fashionable clothes, using the latest phones, planning weekend outings to trendy restaurants.

Liang Yin seed to notice the pity in his eyes and smiled, saying, “While reading a book, I ca across a saying—Humans, like a buoy, can withstand any storm without sinking. I want to beco that buoy.”

Li Junyan smiled and looked ahead. “Rong Yin seems to like you a lot.”

Liang Yin said, “Don’t misunderstand, he always likes to joke with .”

Thinking of Rong Yin’s self-introduction where he referred to her as his girlfriend, she felt a little angry, her cheeks flushing red with a hint of embarrassnt.

Her skin was very fair, so any reaction showed clearly on her face.

Li Junyan said, “Hmm, but I can tell, he really likes you.”

Liang Yin shrugged, “Well…but he’s younger than , and I don’t like little brothers. Plus, he’s quite childish!”

Li Junyan couldn’t help but laugh at her words, “You don’t like soone younger than you?”

Liang Yin looked at him, suddenly raised an eyebrow, and said aningfully, “I like mature n like you!”

Li Junyan gave an “uh” sound, his handso face slightly stunned.

Liang Yin was amused by his reaction.

“So, you can get shy too. I’m teasing you.”

Half an hour later.

The car stopped at the university gate.

Liang Yin got out of the car, turned to say goodbye to Li Junyan, “Junyan, thank you for driving to the school. Goodbye.”

Li Junyan said, “Goodbye.”

He watched as she entered the gate before turning the car around to leave.

Liang Yin walked to the door of the girls’ dormitory building, only to see the dorm supervisor auntie was locking the door.

She checked the ti; there were still fifteen minutes until curfew. Why were they locking the door early?

She hurried over, but once the supervisor locked the door, she turned back to the lounge.

Liang Yin knocked on the door and shouted, “Auntie, open the door for !”

The dorm supervisor seed to hear her, glanced back, but ignored her.

Liang Yin frowned, surprised, and continued knocking, “There’s still fifteen minutes until curfew, Auntie, please open the door, I need to go in.”

The dorm supervisor still paid no attention.

Just then—

Chen Shanshan ca out from the dormitory, passed through the hall, and saw Liang Yin locked outside. She smirked and walked to the door.

Liang Yin was a bit surprised. Chen Shanshan rarely stayed in the dorm; her house was close to the school, so she went ho every day. But as the student council president, she occasionally stayed in the dorm to check room records with the dorm supervisor.

Chen Shanshan approached the door, took out her phone and glanced at the ti.

Liang Yin said, “Chen, please open the door for .”

Chen Shanshan asked, “Why?”

Liang Yin hesitated, “It’s not past curfew yet.”

Chen Shanshan replied, “So what?”

Liang Yin was stunned, suddenly understanding that Chen Shanshan was deliberately making things difficult for her.

Liang Yin said, “Chen, would you please open the door? Room check is about to start, and I don’t want to lose points.”

Chen Shanshan asked, “Why are you back so late?”

Liang Yin replied, “I went to work part-ti.”

Chen Shanshan sneered, “Part-ti? I think you were on a date with so old man, weren’t you?”

Liang Yin said, “I told you before, if you think I’m doing anything that affects the school’s reputation, you can report it to the academic affairs office. There’s no need to speculate about privately.”

Chen Shanshan smirked, “Liang Yin, you know that if you’re not here during room check, it counts as overnight stay off-campus, and you’ll lose credits, right?”

Liang Yin’s face darkened.

Chen Shanshan continued, “You know losing credits affects the scholarship assessnt, yes? I’m sure you care about that money a lot! But…”

She raised an eyebrow, “I’m afraid you’ll lose your chance for the scholarship assessnt this ti.”

Liang Yin asked, “What exactly do you want?”

Chen Shanshan picked up her phone and lit up the screen.

The ti displayed on the screen showed only five minutes until curfew.

Chen Shanshan didn’t say another word to her but rather watched the ti tick by until—five minutes passed.

She gestured with her phone at Liang Yin, “Curfew ti, Liang Yin, recorded as overnight stay off-campus.”

After saying this, she turned and headed upstairs.

The dorm supervisor took out the record book and followed Chen Shanshan upstairs to check the rooms.

She clearly saw Liang Yin but still chose to ignore her.

Liang Yin stubbornly stood at the dormitory entrance, knocked on the door again, “Auntie! Auntie?”

She watched the auntie walk upstairs, her nose stinging and eyes slightly red, but she drew a sharp breath, clenching her fists, refusing to shed a tear.

So filthy.

She didn’t expect Chen Shanshan to use such tactics against her.

She knew how important the scholarship was to her.

Liang Yin closed her eyes, turned around, and then her phone rang.

It was an unknown number.

Liang Yin answered the call, “Hello?”

The voice of Li Junyan ca from the other end, “Liang, are you at the dormitory?”

In the call, Li Junyan’s voice was gentle and caring, and Liang Yin, for so reason, felt extrely aggrieved, but she still maintained a calm deanor, “Um… I was a few minutes late, the curfew hit, and I couldn’t get into the dorm.”

After a pause, she curiously asked, “How did you know my number?”

Li Junyan answered, “Ah Yin gave it to . I saw your tote bag left in the backseat, with your paper inside. So, I called to ask when it would be convenient to return it to you… You just said you can’t get into the dorm? Why?”

Liang Yin’s nose tingled again, “I…”

She bit her lip, too upset to say another word.
