Chapter 672: Chapter 672: Scared Out of Their Wits

Haunted house.

Because the passage is too narrow, it cannot accommodate two people side by side.

The four kids lined up like a long dragon.

Han walked at the front, followed by Momo, Xiaoyi, and Junjun.

A couple followed behind them.

The entire layout of the haunted house was eerie.

As soon as Han entered, he felt a bit regretful. He regretted even more that he had rushed to the front to show his courage, and had taken the lead. But just after turning down a corridor, he saw from a distance row after row of dilapidated sickrooms. One of them had a half-open door, and a woman with disheveled hair lay motionless on the bed.

Han glanced at her and was instantly frightened out of his wits, especially seeing that the woman’s pale dress was covered in glaring blood. His voice started to tremble uncontrollably: “Is that a person or a ghost?”

Momo: “It’s a staff mber.”

Han: “Will she crawl up from the bed later?”

As soon as he finished speaking, the woman with disheveled hair suddenly slowly sat up on the bed.

Han’s mouth turned into an “O” shape in shock!

“Ah!!!!”

Han was so scared that he rushed forward swiftly.

Momo furrowed his brows and called out, “Han!?”

But in just a mont, Han had run out of sight.

Xiaoyi and Junjun behind them also saw that “female ghost.” Although Xiaoyi dared to watch horror movies alone at ho, horror films didn’t have the kind of imrsive fear that a haunted house could perate.

She stepped back half a step, bumping into Junjun’s arms.

Junjun held her shoulders: “Don’t be afraid, I’m right behind you.”

He looked at Momo: “Where’s Han?”

Momo said, “Han ran away scared.”

Junjun: “…”

The female ghost slowly approached the door.

The couple behind also saw it, and the girl jumped into the boy’s arms in fright.

“Ahhh! So scary!!”

The girl whimpered with a crying tone: “Help!”

Momo pulled Xiaoyi’s hand and walked forward, calling Han’s na as he moved: “Han! Where are you, Han?”

He wasn’t really scared of the haunted house, because he knew that the scenes inside and the ghosts themselves were fake.

Junjun remained calm as well.

Xiaoyi felt quite safe sandwiched between the two.

Besides being scary, this haunted house also incorporated escape room elents; to proceed to the next stage required puzzle-solving.

Unknowingly, Momo led the two kids to a fork, and upon looking back, they realized that, unknown to them, the couple had gotten separated from them.

Forget it, let’s not worry about them.

Momo said, “Han ran off and is nowhere to be found, and we don’t know where he went.”

Junjun: “Maybe he was too afraid, so he hid in so corner?”

“Hmm, possibly.”

Momo said, “Let’s focus on getting out first. Which way do we go from here?”

Junjun looked around. The path forked into routes A and B.

He casually took out a coin from his pocket, tossed it, and caught it on the back of his hand: “Heads, we go left. Tails, we go right.”

He lifted his hand and saw the coin showed tails.

Momo directly headed towards the right.

Pushing open a door, it creaked with a “squeak.”

At the entrance, Momo unexpectedly found a flashlight. He turned it on, and the flashlight emitted a faint light, barely illuminating the surroundings.

What appeared before them seed to be a prescription room.

The prescription room contained many glass vessels with various human organs preserved in formalin.

Xiaoyi glanced at them, and was so scared she covered her mouth.

Junjun leaned closer, looked at the glass wares, and said: “They’re all fake; these human organs are made of silicone.”

Momo: “Of course they’re fake. They’re just props. If they were real, it’d be too much.”

Upon hearing it was fake, Xiaoyi wasn’t as scared. But knowing it was fake, there was still a strong sensory shock.

Most people would run away frantically when entering the prescription room without looking closely.

After exiting the prescription room, the three kids walked in the dark until suddenly discovering an office doorway. They pushed the door open and walked straight in.

Momo turned on the flashlight and shone it around.

This seed to be an office.

The office setup was simple but ssy, with one desk, a row of cabinets, and another door leading to a different room.

The desk was empty, and an overcoat hung on a chair.

Momo shone the flashlight on the desk and found a docunt. Glancing at it, he found clues on it.

This abandoned hospital was once a very large private hospital with excellent dical standards and top-notch equipnt.

However, later on, the director colluded with so underground black market organizations to smuggle and sell human organs to the black market. They injected healthy people with the drug for euthanasia, took their organs, and sold them.

Afterwards, the people who died unjustly beca vengeful ghosts, wandering in the hospital, their spirits restless.

This hospital frequently reported hauntings.

One day, the director mysteriously died in the office, with bloodshot eyes. Shortly after the incident, the hospital announced its closure, and gradually beca abandoned. Yet, rumors of hauntings slowly spread.

Besides this, Momo also saw a diary on the desk.

Thinking it was an unimportant prop, he casually flipped through it and saw a single line written on it: “He plays no tragic role, doesn’t moan, doesn’t need solitude or many friends.”

Junjun glanced at it: “What is this?”

Momo said, “Could this be part of a puzzle?”

As he spoke, he walked over to the bookshelf, shining the flashlight.

The bookshelf was densely packed with nurous books.

He scanned them one by one, and suddenly saw a book titled “ditations.”

Momo had a flash of insight and tiptoed to get the book.

Earlier, on the director’s desk, in the diary, the line written there—”He plays no tragic role, doesn’t moan, doesn’t need solitude or many friends.”

This quote is a classic from “ditations.”

Just as Momo took the book down, the bookshelf made a noise, and then a chanism activated, slowly opening, revealing a not-too-big, not-too-small hidden exit behind the shelf.

Junjun was a bit surprised: “What is this?”

Momo said, “Looks like it’s part of a puzzle; this is the hidden exit in the director’s office.”

Saying that, he walked over and bent down to take a look.

The hidden exit was a long passageway that required bending over to go through, but at the other end of the passage, there was light, suggesting an exit to the outside.

Momo said, “I’ll go check it out first.”

Junjun said, “Let’s go together.”

The three kids bent over and slipped into the hidden exit, and soon found themselves out of the haunted house.

The staff unexpectedly saw them and jumped in surprise; they hadn’t expected the three would co out from this exit.
