Chapter 608: Chapter 608: Rong Ling

Doctor Fan put on his reading glasses, holding Rong Ling’s arm with one hand, he slowly massaged around his fracture with the other hand.

Strangely enough, the place that originally hurt with even the slightest movent, now seed fine even when he pressed and kneaded it.

Rong Ling felt the fractured area begin to gradually warm up, a gentle warmth that was quite comforting.

In less than ten minutes, Doctor Fan sat down, fixed a splint on him, took off his glasses and announced, “Your arm is set, try moving it.”

Already set?

So fast?

Rong Ling had complete faith in Doctor Fan, so he imdiately swung his hand, indeed it could move, and quite flexibly too.

This action gave Doctor Fan quite a scare, and he reluctantly scolded, “You rascal, always diligent with other people’s matters, but being so careless with your own. It just got set, don’t go and break it again.”

Rong Ling smiled and stretched a few tis, confirming there were no issues, then he happily whistled, “Looks like I can continue with tonight’s work, thanks, Doctor Fan.”

Doctor Fan sighed heavily, “Alright, go quickly.”

He didn’t even take out the QR code as he would for other patients, clearly not wanting to take money from this poor child.

The Fan family had been healing and saving lives for generations, historically treating commoners for free with the money they earned from treating emperors, and to this day, many hospitals and universities begged him to lecture, yet he charged no fees.

Not worried about sustenance, living comfortably, he provided free dical treatnt to those genuinely in need.

This is what benevolent dical practice should be like.

Rong Ling took out that stack of money from his chest, and handed $1,000 to Doctor Fan.

Doctor Fan looked at the whole stack of money and asked worriedly, “Kid, where did you get so much money from? Was it legitimate? You can’t stray down the wrong path; otherwise, your little sister will suffer.”

“A woman hit ; this is her compensation for my dical expenses.”

Doctor Fan took the $1,000, pulled out the basic material costs from it, and stuffed the rest back into Rong Ling’s chest.

He instructed, “Go get yourself sothing good to eat and drink, and save the rest, don’t waste it.”

Rong Ling was slightly stunned, took a while to react, then said “Thank you” and hurriedly left, pulling up the hood of his sweater.

Ever since their father drove their mother away, causing Rong Ling to leave with his little sister, he rarely felt warmth from an elder; Doctor Fan was the only one who stood from his perspective and cared for him.

As Rong Ling walked so distance, he suddenly realized he forgot his handbag.

However, since he planned to bring his little sister to see Doctor Fan on Friday, he didn’t turn back to get it.

He was running late for his night job, needing to hurry, and before that, he needed to find a bank to deposit the money.

Li Yufei returned ho exhausted, it was already very late.

Uncle Kang approached respectfully and said, “The young master fell asleep on the sofa, no matter how much we tried to persuade him, he wouldn’t go to his room; he said he would only go back to his room when you ca ho.”

Li Yufei sighed and rubbed her temples, “I’ll go check on him.”

No matter how tired she was, she would first carry her son back to his room; she couldn’t let him sleep alone on the sofa.

Even though the sofa at ho was soft, and the temperature was set to a constant warmth by the central air conditioning, making it possible to sleep there all year round without catching cold, she still felt he was too young to sleep anywhere but in his room.

Junjun was sleeping on the sofa in the living room.

He was curled up like a little beast, with a small blanket Uncle Kang found draped over him, seemingly enough to keep him from catching cold, yet his features were scrunched up, holding the blanket tightly with his hands, making him look particularly uneasy.

Li Yufei walked over to him, intending to pick him up.

Junjun suddenly mumbled, “Did mom co back yet…”

She was taken aback.

Junjun appeared to be talking in his sleep, slowly opened his eyes, having waited until he fell asleep, his voice sounding slightly hoarse, with a hint of nasal tone: “Mom…”

Li Yufei felt an ache in her heart, gently holding him, and picked him up.

“Junjun, why are you sleeping here?”

Junjun replied, “I was waiting for mom to co ho.”

Li Yufei gently coaxed, “In the future, if mom cos ho late, don’t wait up. It’s mom’s fault, got delayed on the way.”

She spoke softly while carrying Junjun back to his room, and gently laid him on the bed.

Junjun obediently pulled the blanket snug, “Mom, go to sleep early, goodnight.”

He was too sleepy to stay awake, his eyelids drooping, and just after saying that, he fell asleep.

Junjun was so considerate it pierced her heart.

Li Yufei bent over and kissed his forehead, “Sleep tight, goodnight, Junjun.”

The next day.

Li Yufei spent ti at ho having breakfast with Junjun, and as soon as she arrived at the company, she received several products sent by partner companies.

Because she had to attend a eting, she instructed her secretary to take the car for routine maintenance; having acquired several new projects, plus needing to network more due to Du Shaoheng’s affairs, the car was used more frequently, warranting an earlier maintenance check.

After the eting, Li Yufei had just returned to her office when the secretary knocked on the door.

She signed docunts without lifting her head, “Co in.”

The secretary respectfully approached, placing the car keys and a handbag on her desk.

“What’s this?”

“It was found in your car; I didn’t open it without your permission to check.”

“Open it.”

“Yes.”

The secretary opened the handbag, taking out so docunts, along with two little booklets with cartoon stickers.

One booklet had ‘Fan’s dical Hall’ written on it, appearing to be a dical record card, the other was a winter break workbook from a regular elentary school, with the school address, class, and student’s na written on it.

Class 3, Grade 2, Xiaoyi.

Only a given na, no surna.

Judging by the cartoon stickers, it looked like it belonged to a girl.

The grade wasn’t high, aning there was a chance she could be a friend Junjun knew, and left their stuff in the car, since Junjun sotis goes out with friends, all of whom are either family or connected to the company, riding in her car.

Li Yufei pressed her finger joints against her temple, gently massaging, “Where is this school located?”

“Uh, it’s over on West Street.”

“West Street?” Li Yufei looked quite surprised, “There’s an elentary school there?”

“Yes, this school’s student resources are extrely poor, most students are kids forgotten in the old folks’ village, children neglected by their parents, or whose grandparents lack the ability to tutor them.”

“Has Junjun been there?”

The secretary shook her head, “The young master is very well-behaved, mainly going between school and ho, sotis visiting Momo and Han, he doesn’t roam around elsewhere.”

West Street has a lot of delinquents, and many adult entertainnt venues as well.

A family, unless in dire financial hardship, generally wouldn’t choose to send their child to school there.

So kids get involved with bad company as early as fifth or sixth grade, and there are many who end up incarcerated in their teens, pregnant, or drop out of school aimlessly.
