Chapter 306: Chapter 306: Having a Husband’s Support Just Feels Different

Lin Qi lowered her head and took out her phone, adding Maeve as a friend in the work group chat.

When Maeve heard the “ding dong” notification sound and saw that Lin Qi actually took the initiative to add her as a friend, she was a bit surprised but accepted the request on the spot.

Lin Qi sent a WeChat ssage: “Ms. Mia, do you know? I actually like you a lot.”

Maeve was making faces as she read it.

She looked across with so doubt, as Lin Qi faced her phone and sent over a sneaky-looking emoji.

The emoji was a panda with its pants half down, making a sneaky face at her.

Lin Qi imdiately followed up with another ssage: “I like —— the way you look at with annoyance yet unable to do anything about it!”

Maeve was so frustrated by her that she was practically fuming!

This scoundrel, how dare she provoke her?

Watching Maeve’s face turn from ash to dark with anger, Lin Qi struggled to suppress her laughter!

She knew that Maeve was annoyed with her and would pick on her whenever there was an opportunity or not.

But isn’t this kind of person, who can’t stand to see others do well, the source of joy in life?

Over the years, Lin Qi has encountered many extraordinary colleagues and bosses at work, and Maeve was not the most disgusting among them.

Who made her so lucky to have a husband that could show off and fly with her?

This is what they call, having boundless power with her husband’s support!

However, although she has her husband’s support, she still needs to work hard!

She’ll be officially made a permanent employee next week.

Lunchti.

Lin Qi, holding the elevator card, took the elevator up to the floor where Huo Tingdong’s office was. Just as she arrived at the entrance of the president’s office, Mo Ke was there to greet her: “Miss Lin!”

Lin Qi nodded, “Have you eaten yet?”

Mo Ke replied: “Not yet, I’ll eat after you and Mr. Huo have finished.”

He pushed open the door, and Lin Qi entered with composure.

Huo Tingdong was sitting at his desk, which was already clean and tidy, with two lunch boxes laid out on the desk, emitting a fragrant sll.

Huo Tingdong had a thing for cleanliness and didn’t like eating in the office, but more than that, he preferred having als with her.

There’s a saying: To love soone is to share als with them, three tis a day; it’s the simplest form of everyday happiness!

Lin Qi sat down beside him, already hungry and with a rumbling stomach.

Huo Tingdong opened the lunch box for her, with three at and three vegetable dishes, a well-balanced combination of chicken leg, sweet and sour pork ribs, braised pork; the vegetables included Chinese cabbage, broccoli, and mushroom with greens, all complented with white, fluffy rice, looking especially appetizing.

“Husband!”

Seeing him in a great mood, Lin Qi pounced on him, took hold of his handso face, and kissed him, smiling and cooing: “Husband, you look so handso today!”

Huo Tingdong raised his eyebrows in so surprise, pinched her cheek with his big hand, and gave her rosy lips a kiss, still feeling sowhat astonished inside.

Why was her little mouth as sweet as if it had been dipped in honey today?

Just as Mo Ke walked in, he saw Lin Qi hanging onto Huo Tingdong like a large pendant and imdiately covered his face, beat a hasty retreat.

See no evil, hear no evil!

Huo Tingdong patted her little butt: “Alright, let’s eat.”

Lin Qi said: “Husband, you are so good to .”

In the past, she had been fearful of marriage.

If she has known Huo Tingdong was such a good person, she would’ve never let go, persisting even to the point of stalking and would not have divorced. Having her husband’s affection, no one dared to bully her.

Huo Tingdong kept a calm face, but his ears turned a bit red.

Lin Qi noticed it and couldn’t help but secretly think: Could he be feeling shy?

She had only called him “husband” a few tis, and yet his ears turned red.

Huo Tingdong, seeing her continuously stare at him, cleared his throat unnaturally: “What are you doing?”

Lin Qi muttered: “Can’t I look at you?”

Huo Tingdong’s lips curved slightly.

Although he was not used to it, he actually liked it very much when she called him “husband” repeatedly.

Huo Tingdong was not in a very good mood originally, having just argued with a few old shareholders at the board eting that morning. Before she ca in, his face had still been tense, but her call of “husband” made all his displeasure evaporate in an instant!

The corners of his mouth couldn’t help but curve upwards, “Why are you so sweet today?”

Lin Qi said, “Because…”

She took a close look at his handso features, his straight, parallel eyebrows, deep black eyes, prominent nose bridge, well-defined thin lips, and jawline, and sincerely praised, “Because you are especially handso today!”

Huo Tingdong handed her the washed chopsticks and stainless steel spoon, “Eat while it’s hot.”

“Mm.”

Lin Qi glanced at the broccoli and suddenly, with disdain, picked it with her chopsticks into his bowl, “I don’t like broccoli.”

She would give him anything she disliked to eat.

Huo Tingdong said, “Are you picky about food?”

Lin Qi replied, “I’m tired of it.”

Previously, when she and Momo relied on each other for survival, Momo bought groceries and cooked. They would eat whatever vegetables were cheap. At that ti, broccoli was off-season, so it was particularly cheap, and she ate broccoli every day. Now she was afraid just by looking at broccoli.

Huo Tingdong said, “Will you eat one, okay?”

She had Xiao Bao in her belly, and proper nutrition was important during pregnancy, so he coaxed her to eat.

Lin Qi said, “Just one!”

She reluctantly moved a small floret of broccoli back into her bowl but didn’t forget to stealthily nab a piece of at from his bowl and started to eat with relish, slowly chewing and savoring the food.

For a while, the office quietened down.

The two of them ate quietly, not talking much.

One should not speak while eating or talk loudly before going to sleep.

Huo Tingdong was brought up with strict family discipline, so he rarely talked while eating.

Lin Qi also focused on eating.

Ever since she got pregnant, her appetite had grown considerably, and she beca more of a big eater than before. Unknowingly, she nearly emptied a whole box of white rice.

Huo Tingdong asked, “Do you want more rice?”

Lin Qi replied, “Half a serving more.”

Huo Tingdong had specially asked Mo Ke to prepare an extra serving of rice.

Soon, Lin Qi was full.

She put down her chopsticks and leaned back in her chair, cradling her round stomach, feeling sowhat food-comatose.

Huo Tingdong picked up a wet wipe and gracefully wiped the corner of his mouth. Seeing that her lips were still greasy, he took out another wet wipe and gently wiped it for her.

“I had Mo Ke check the lunar calendar, we’ll go get our marriage certificate next Tuesday.”

Lin Qi asked, “What’s the date next Tuesday?”

Huo Tingdong said, “The 25th of August.”

Lin Qi readily agreed, “Okay.”

Huo Tingdong’s lips were tightly drawn as he gently kissed her lips, “Let’s get married and then never get divorced again, okay?”

She was afraid of divorce, and so was he.

He too longed for a stable and long-lasting relationship.

He believed she was the choice he would never regret.

Lin Qi looked him in the eye, “Are you afraid I’ll run away?”

Huo Tingdong countered, “What man isn’t afraid his wife will run away?”

Lin Qi said, “Okay, then you have to be very loving towards , and I won’t divorce you.”

Huo Tingdong laughed, “You’re my wife, why wouldn’t I love you?”

Lin Qi said, “Then you can’t bully either!”

Huo Tingdong patiently nodded, “Mm, I won’t bully you.”
