Chapter 264: Chapter 264: Then You Be the Big Brother!

This ti it’s great. On her first day at work, her colleagues were harboring grudges because she received special attention.

Although she has always been bad at handling workplace relationships.

The workplace was like a curse to her.

She wasn’t new to the workplace scene, but no matter what job she took, her relationship with colleagues was always sour.

She refused to be insincere or flatter others, focusing only on her imdiate tasks. However, years of experience had taught her one thing: just being good at your job isn’t enough!

Social skills are also crucial.

Lin Qi curiously asked, “How should I get along with colleagues? Why did my previous colleagues reject ?”

Huo Tingdong replied, “You’re asking ?”

Lin Qi said, “Yes.”

Huo Tingdong said, “I don’t have colleagues.”

Lin Qi: “…then forget I asked!”

Huo Tingdong, as the top boss of everyone at Huace, certainly doesn’t need to worry about interpersonal relations!

Lin Qi comnted, “Does Huace Group have a wolfish culture? Everyone’s still working past office hours. Is Huace implenting 996?”

Huo Tingdong said, “No.”

Lin Qi was surprised, “Then why do they all voluntarily stay late to work overti?”

Huo Tingdong explained, “Because they haven’t completed their tasks. It could be that last month’s target was unt, or today’s project tasks are incomplete.”

Huace Group never forced overti.

The positions at headquarters allowed for an easy-going role, but the salary was fixed around 10,000 to 20,000, with no bonuses or dividends.

Project teams were different.

Project teams’ incos were based on eting project targets and year-end performance bonuses, so higher the achievent, greater the bonuses and dividends.

Because Huace was great at attracting talent, new recruits flowed in constantly.

Huace employed an annual elimination system at the bottom, weeding out diocre employees or those akin to dead weight, or for organizational tweaking.

If the target rate isn’t t, employees were either transferred within the company or demoted to other departnts.

Depending on the project, salaries could vary significantly, with so earning hundreds of thousands and so reaching millions or even billions.

Thus, many employees aspired to join the project teams and prove themselves, naturally cultivating a culture of voluntary overti.

Lin Qi said, “Nowadays, 996 is becoming increasingly common.”

Huo Tingdong ntioned, “I never force my employees into 996. I believe in the survival of the fittest. Whoever is competent, holds the position. Whatever abilities you have, hold those responsibilities and perform those tasks.”

When he first took over, Huace was still a family-led business with nurous nepotistic ties. After cleaning out so of these unproductive elents and adjusting the equity structure and job roles, Huace grew stronger.

Suddenly, Lin Qi’s phone rang.

Picking up her phone, she saw that Qi Lichuan had video-called her on DingTalk.

Just as she answered, Qi Lichuan sounded a tad annoyed, “Have you left work?”

Lin Qi responded, “It’s ti to clock out. I did leave on ti.”

Qi Lichuan asked, “Did you complete the training notes?”

Lin Qi replied, “Yes, I’ve emailed it to the supervisor and CC’d you.”

Qi Lichuan was surprised by her efficiency.

He continued, “Did you review the project report from last month that I had sent?”

Lin Qi said, “Yes, I’ve seen it, and the data module is complete. I’ve also written the analysis report and emailed it to the supervisor, CC’ing you as well.”

Qi Lichuan: “…” So efficient!

“Okay, nothing else, take care on your way ho!” After that, Qi Lichuan hung up.

Huo Tingdong asked, “Busy on your first day of work?”

Lin Qi responded, “Not as busy as you.”

Huo Tingdong: “…”

When she got ho, Momo had prepared dinner.

School was starting tomorrow.

Momo was packing his school bag when he heard Lin Qi return and imdiately rushed to the foyer and into her arms, “Mommy!”

Han also cheerfully ran out from his room, lining up neatly behind Momo.

After Lin Qi hugged Momo and kissed him, just as she put Momo down, Han cutely stepped forward, arms outstretched for her to embrace him.

Lin Qi laughed, amused by Han’s antics!

Han was really well-taught; even for hugs and kisses, he knew to line up!

She wrapped her arms around Han, lifting him up, and showered his chubby face with kisses, “Han, have you been a good boy at ho?”

Han’s face turned rosy as he declared, “Han has been good!”

Seeing Lin Qi kiss Han three tis while he received only two, Momo complained, “Why did Mommy kiss Han so many tis?” He was counting!

Reluctantly, Lin Qi put down Han, picked up Momo, and compensated with two more kisses.

Han said, “I want one more kiss than Momo!”

Momo gave him a disdainful look, “Why should you?”

Han retorted, “Because I’m your elder brother.”

Momo grew even more defiant, “Elder brothers should care for their younger siblings, don’t you know?”

Upon hearing this, Han quickly offered, “Then you be the elder brother, and I’ll be the younger!”

Momo was exasperated by his naively cunning little brother; despite appearing innocent, Han was quite shrewd inside.

Momo stated seriously, “Being elder or younger brother is predetermined by birth! You’re the elder and I’m the younger; it’s not sothing you can switch at will!”

Han solemnly asserted, “In ancient tis, the sibling born later was actually the elder brother!”

Momo furrowed his brow, “What kind of twisted logic is that?”

Han insisted earnestly, “It’s true! In antiquity, if twins were born, the one born first was the younger brother, and the one born later was the elder brother. My master told so, look it up if you don’t believe!”

Momo said, “Okay! Since you don’t want to be the elder brother, I’ll be the elder brother then! Being the younger, you should listen to the elder.”

Huo Tingdong frowned, asking Han, “Han, is it okay if Daddy holds you?”

He noticed that Han was weighing heavily on Lin Qi, so he wanted to lighten her load.

Han glanced lightly at Huo Tingdong, his tone growing colder, “You hold Momo.”

Huo Tingdong: “…”

Momo: “…”

With just a sentence, Han managed to alienate both his father and his brother.

There’s a saying: sons are closer to their mothers.

His years of father-son bonding dismissed to the side now that ‘Mommy’ was here.

Huo Tingdong looked towards Momo.

Momo warily stepped back half a step, “I don’t want you to hold .”

Huo Tingdong said, “Will it kill you to let hold you for a mont?”

Momo replied coldly, “You don’t understand ‘like repels like.’ You’re all muscles and it’s uncomfortable being held by you.”

He had been held by Huo Tingdong before, but found Huo Tingdong’s build too tough; Mommy’s embrace was more comfortable.
