Chapter 725 - eting In The Scarlet House
eting Hall, Scarlet House, Ocien.
An important eting was currently taking place in the Scarlet House. And, all the mbers of the upper managent were present including a few of the heads of the Allied families of the Scarlet House.
The person in question was the new Patriarch of the Yule Family.
This man had killed two people last night. One was the previous Patriarch of his own Family, and the other was the Fourth Elder Hank of the Scarlet House. Both were very serious matters which could result in a death penalty if he failed to explain himself.
The Scarlet Lord was present and heading the eting as usual. The Lady of the House was present in the eting as well.
"What do you have to say about this Elder Sun?" The Scarlet Lord calmly asked. He hadn't addressed him as Patriarch which was more than enough to show his stance. Unless everything was clear, the old man wouldn't be able to get away.
"Last night, I found evidence of the Previous Patriarch of the Family conspiring with outside forces to harm the family as well as the other forces of the Ocien. He was apprehended, and I had planned to present him here for judgent today. But.." Elder Sun paused as he swept his gaze around the people in the hall, "Elder Hank arrived at the scene, and destroyed the evidence as it contained his na in it as well."
Everyone's faces changed on hearing it. It was the sa as him saying that the Scarlet House was engaging in so shady business to undermine the power of the other Families in Ocien.
"A fight broke out last night, and I am sure most of the people here are aware of it."
"When I made the Elder Hank to submit, he committed suicide. I don't know who he was afraid of. But, I suspect that there must be soone above him."
Old man Sun's words made it clear that there was soone pulling strings behind Hank, and even though he didn't specifically ntion it, it was obvious that he was pointing towards the Scarlet House.
Talia maintained the expression on her face. But, she was definitely not happy with this situation. She was expecting the bullet to co straight towards her. But, that didn't happen.
She stared at this Old man wondering what he was up to. There were two things which might have happened. First, this old man hadn't found anything. He had not reached the account log and just killed the Previous Patriarch for his power.
Second, he had found the account log, but deliberately didn't take her na because it would definitely create trouble for him as no one would believe him.
Rather it would be much more believable and effective if he just said there was soone else behind this. This would naturally allow the other allied families to make that decision for themselves instead of him pointing it out towards anyone.
The most likely mastermind behind this would definitely be Scarlets for anyone. They were the most fearful of any other family rising after all.
Talia really felt a headache with this situation.
"Don't think we will believe your words just because you say so. Provide us with evidence." One of the Elders of the Scarlet House spoke out.
Old man Sun looked at him, and then picked up so files from his storage device and passed it out.
"Those are all records of the funds of my family mysteriously disappearing in the past years. As you can see in it, clearly sothing is wrong there."
The Elder who had spoken out earlier frowned, "This only proved that there is sothing wrong with your family.."
"Do you really think that such things could remain hidden from the Patriarch?" the Old man snorted. The person wasn't even trying to hide the track of funds. It was clear that only the person who was in control of the family could do such things.
"Even if we believe that the Previous Patriarch was at fault as you say, it still doesn't prove anything about your accusation on Elder Hank." Another person spoke up.
"I don't have any proof as I said it was destroyed." Old man Sun calmly stated, and the people around frowned.
"You should have kept Elder Hank alive in that case, so he could have confessed it."
"He committed suicide. The poison was so strong that it even evaporated his body. What could I have done?" The old man shrugged, and everyone's face twitched. They really couldn't find any fault in him at this rate.
Last night, the old man was definitely stated that he would send Hanks body to Scarlet House, but after calming down. He made the wise decision.
"Then you can't prove that Elder Hank was wrong.." A person who was particularly close to Hank spoke with a furious expression on his face.
"What if I can't?" Old man Sun didn't give him any face, "The fact that the barged into my residence is more than enough to say that I didn't go to kill him, but he ca seeking his own death."
"Why don't you answer ? What was he doing in my place at that ti?" He further asked.
The Elder could only glare at him without any thod to retort.
"I don't care what he says my Lord. There is no proof that Elder Hank was the one at fault."
"Even so, you can't bla Patriarch Sun without evidence as well. He was only protecting his family. Besides, if Elder Hank was not in the wrong, what intentions did he have while intruding another family's territory late at night." A Patriarch of one of the Allied families spoke up.
This imdiately led to a heated argunt between two groups.
The Scarlet Lord who had been maintaining his calm all this while finally spoke, "Enough.."
His words imdiately silence everyone.
"No one has any evidence as of yet.."
"Hence, until everything cos to light, the Yule family wouldn't be allowed to operate as a part of the allied family and would work independently."
"That's unfair, my Lord.." A few people protested.
"There is no need to be worried, if they are proven innocent, we would naturally compensate for their losses." The Lord further added. "Since this matter involve one of my own Elders, it will be unfair for Scarlet House to investigate this incident. Hence, we will be leaving this incident to the Union to deal with."
The words left everyone with a complicated look on their faces.
