Chapter 689 - Reunion Of Brothers
"Huh?" Eren suddenly turned his head around to look at Axel who was staring towards the exit.
"What's wrong?" He asked, but Axel didn't reply.
Suddenly, Axel began to walk towards the exit.
"Where are you going?" Eren asked with a frown, but the guy didn't reply and just disappeared in thin air.
'What the hell is wrong with these people? They co and go as they wish..' He sighed looking at the empty exit path way, and then shook his head. 'I will do the sa and give them the taste of their own dicine next ti.;
He decided in his heart.
…
'No way, it isn't possible..' Axel ran through the exit hallway with sweat sliding down his forehead. He had a deep frown on his face, and he felt that his ears were ringing.
'How could there be a voice so similar to his?'
He refused to believe it.
After all, if that person was alive, there was no way he wouldn't have made contact with him. There was no way that he would have left him all alone like this.
Axel followed the trail of energy which the person had deliberately left behind in order for him to follow.
After a minute, Axel finally ca to a stop on hitting a dead end in one of the corners.
"Where are you? You didn't call out here just to hide, did you?" He asked while looking around. He couldn't sense the presence anymore as if it had disappeared. But, if that person had plans to run away in the first place, there was no reason for him to call Axel out in the first place.
Hence, Axel believed that person was still sowhere nearby.
"I am a bit disappointed. You are still a naive and emotional fellow." A voice sounded behind Axel's ear, and a chill imdiately rose up his spine.
Axel imdiately turned around. His gun was already in his hand, but before he could aim and shoot, the person grabbed his wrist and raised it above. His other hand imdiately ca for Axel's neck and he slamd Axel onto the wall.
"Thud!"
Axel looked at the guy who still hadn't revealed his face as of yet. But, that voice definitely was extrely familiar to him. He could never forget it.
"So, you called to kill here?" Axle asked with a snort.
"What if I did?" The person asked, "You really did co like a puppy who was given so treat?"
"This is why you will always be naive.."The person snorted, and then released Axel.
As soon as Axel landed on his feet, he raised his gun and pointed it at the guy in front, "Show your face."
"What if I don't?" The person asked with a laugh. He either had confidence in his ability to dodge or was sure that Axel wouldn't shoot.
"Are you going to shoot? Are you sure you have what it takes to pull that trigge-"
"Bang!"
Naze tilted his head, and dodged the bullet which was aid for his head. He then turned his head towards Axel in disbelief.
"Don't make repeat myself." Axel looked at him with a serious face. "I am confident that the next one won't miss."
"Well, it seems you have changed a bit, Big brother.." The guy said in surprise as he slowly pulled his hoody down.
Axel's eyes slowly went wide and then his face began to turn dark.
"Bang!"
A punch ca straight landing onto Naze's face. He definitely wasn't prepared for that. The brother that he rembered leaving was not the man of fists but words. He was actually a cry baby. A good for nothing. And yet now....
"W-What the hell!"
"Bang!" A kick sent him tumbling onto the ground.
"Wait! Let speak!!"
"Bang!"
"I sai-"
Unfortunately, Axel was no longer in the mood of using words. And, he one sidedly beat the sh*t out of him.
Naze hadn't even recovered from his injuries from the fight, and sure couldn't resist it at all. Not to ntion, he didn't want to use his power and attract any unnecessary attention. So, he could only tuck his arms and legs in and get beaten like a pig.
…
A good while later..
Axel stood there panting as sweat slid down his face. He was exhausted, and hence finally stopped. He slowly fell backwards and sat near the guy who was lying on the ground with a swollen face.
He looked at Naze, and his anger finally cald down.
To be honest, he lost it when this guy had turned a serious matter of returning into sothing like this. And, he could tell at one glance that this guy definitely was not living in a situation where he couldn't find ti to co and et him or even contact him on the phone.
Hell, if he had ti to train his powers and awakened that black energy, he sure had enough leisure ti to call his brother and inform him that he was alive.
And yet, the mont they t, he not only dared to appear in such a fashion, but even looked down on him, how the hell could Axel not get pissed at it.
"I am glad you are alive." Axel finally slumped back on the wall as he muttered it. Tears slid down his eyes as he brought his arm over his face. A lot of things flashed through his eyes, and he once again felt going through everything.
"Tsk… you are still a crybaby.." Naze clicked his tongue as he slowly got up.
"What did you say?" Axel glared at him, but Naze didn't back down.
"Well, I allowed you to beat . So, we are even I guess. Or did you really think that I was helpless against you?" Naze asked as he looked at him.
"You got cocky in the little ti that I didn't see you." Axel glared at him. He sure was seeing a different side of his brother today.
"Well, it cos from my ability. You can't survive out there without any of it. And as long as you have ability, this cos naturally with it," Naze replied with a calm.
"Where were you all this ti?" Axel asked as he looked at the guy.
"Do I need to answer?" Naze asked in return.
"Yes," Axel glared at him, as his face turned into a nacing one.
"Sorry, but I don't have the intention to do so. I will appreciate it if you don't invade my privacy."
"Privacy my ass!!" Axel roared in anger, and punched the guy again. This attitude of his was really pissing him off.
"Grip!"
Naze raised his palm and caught the fist. "I told you that we were even."
"Let go," Axel muttered in an icy tone.
Naze's face twitched, rembering so event of his childhood. But, he didn't back off.
Axe didn't speak. But, his gaze began to get colder with each passing second.
Naze felt a chill rising up his spine, and he began to hesitate.
"Hmph! Stop glaring at …" He pushed aside Axel's fist and crossed his arm.
"You sure have turned a bit rebellious." Axel looked at him and sighed. He didn't know what this guy had gone through, but it definitely wasn't sothing easy considering the circumstances that he had to leave in.
He was just happy that he was alive.
"Let's go," Axel said to him. He was planning to take his ti to get everything out of him. Not to ntion, it had been a long ti since he felt this happy. He was going to reminiscence the old days and spend so ti with his brother.
"Sorry, but I don't have ti."
"Huh?" Axel turned his head to look at the guy, "What do you an?"
"Well, I promised soone that I would et you before leaving Trinity. And, I am leaving soon."
Axel's eyes imdiately widened. "You are not going anywhere!"
He imdiately reached out his hand to grab the bastard but he only ended up grabbing the air.
"Damn it!"
He cursed in anger while looking around, but there was no one around. He couldn't sense his presence at all. He knew that this guy was stronger than him. "When did he improve so much?"
"By the way, if you really want to know so much about , why don't you ask Max? Didn't he tell you? We had been in contact for a long ti?" Naze's laughter rang out in the empty hallway.
Axel's face slowly turned dark.
"Oh yeah, and there was that foolish looking guy too. I broke his ribs, you can ask him as well." Naze added one more line before disappearing for good.
He sure had left a bomb for two people.
Since he didn't want to beat the guy, he could only retort to this thod for revenge.
Axel stood there with a nacing look on his face.
It seed there was a lot going behind his back.
…
"You seem happy.." Beli looked at Naze who had just returned after completing his business.
"Do I?" Naze asked with a calm look on his face.
"Well, it's good that we ended up as allies. It would have been difficult otherwise..." Beli calmly replied, but Naze just maintained his silence as if he had no idea about what she was talking about.
