Jiang Shu, in this lifeti, was born into a wealthy family. Since childhood, he was fond of seeking Immortals and following the Dao. Later, in the mountains, he obtained Daoist books and perfected his swordsmanship. He had always longed to befriend a kindred spirit and, after great difficulty, he t Shi Feiyang, a congenial and spiritually attuned Sword Immortal. They beca both teacher and friend to each other, sharing knowledge for many days, benefiting greatly. But before he had his fill of company, Shi Feiyang intended to leave, and Jiang Shu was sowhat unwilling to part.

Shi Feiyang felt that he shouldn’t befriend soone from the Qingcheng Sect. Everything was fine now, but once he regained his mories from his past life, he would surely stand with the Ei Sect again.

Ei and Qingcheng, two sects sharing the sa breath and branches, weren’t just an empty saying. Since the ti of Tian Dou and Ming He, with the three elders from Ei, there had been interwoven relationships and close friendships.

Ultimately, he insisted on leaving. Jiang Shu reluctantly saw him off to the mountaintop, and asked him to surely visit him at Jiufeng Mountain in Fujian if he passed by in the future.

Shi Feiyang left Jiufeng Mountain flying toward Jiuhua Mountain. He planned to capture both the millennium-old Ganoderma Immortal and the beauty serpent and then return to Mo Xiao Peak on Taishan Mountain to find Huo Wuhai.

Upon arriving at Jiuhua Mountain, he landed on the mountain ridge, sitting cross-legged under a tree to carefully calculate the location of the Ganoderma Immortal.

He had only calculated one Gua Xiang, and the situation was not yet fully resolved, as he was deep in thought. Behind him was a centennial pine with lush foliage. Suddenly, a spark of fire erged, and each pine needle ignited into a small fla, then the needles stood straight up, like a giant candelabra adorned with many lit lamps.

Shi Feiyang was startled and quickly rose to look back, only to see that in each fla on the pine tree sat a Barbarian Monk in ditation, who sternly shouted at Shi Feiyang, "You’ve got so nerve! Daring to kill a disciple of our sect, surrender your life!" After speaking, he struck out with his hand from the air.

From the thousands of flas ca thousands of Barbarian Monks, striking simultaneously. Each palm unleashed a round talisman of the Demon Cult, appearing like countless Mars, spinning and flying toward Shi Feiyang.

Shi Feiyang swiftly flew backward into the sky, as the rotating talismans rapidly grew to the size of wheels, spinning and shooting out limitless golden light, locking onto Shi Feiyang, swarming toward him.

Shi Feiyang didn’t dare to confront the spell head-on and summoned the Circulation Hunyuan Umbrella, opening its canopy and releasing a dark cloud. Those golden wheels collided with the cloud, erupting and spinning relentlessly, aiming to disperse the cloud.

The Circulation Hunyuan Umbrella too was rotating, and the Circulation God Talismans on it shone brightly, with the talisman light enveloping all the golden wheels. In a blink, it spun around 3,600 tis, causing them to disperse into strands of golden light.

Shi Feiyang, holding the umbrella in his left hand, bood from high above, "Are you the One Light Master?"

"I am the leading disciple of the One Light Master, my Dharma na is Chuandeng!" ca the reply from thousands of Monks amidst the flas on the tree, their voices overlapping, creating an impressive aura.

As he spoke, another spell was about to be cast. Shi Feiyang had already covered the entire tree with the talisman light emitted by the Hunyuan Umbrella. With a gesture of his hand, he reversed the Circulation Umbrella’s spinning for another 3,600 rounds, grinding the centennial pine into fine dust, extending and ripping apart the flas and naturally dispersing the Monks within them into the air.

"rely a disciple of the One Light Master possesses such prowess, casting spells from afar with such grandeur, one can hardly imagine how powerful the One Light Master himself could be."

Shi Feiyang retracted his Circulation Umbrella and landed back on the ground, now worried about Jiang Shu. If Chuandeng Monk could contend with him, he could certainly use the sa thods against Jiang Shu; after all, they had together eradicated Shuanghuai Temple.

On second thought, Jiang Shu had the protection of a senior from the Qingcheng Sect by his side, a person of far greater Mana than his own. With him there, Jiang Shu should be safe from harm, and Shi Feiyang, an outsider, shouldn’t worry.

Recollecting his composure, he prepared to continue searching for the Ganoderma Immortal, but he couldn’t shake a feeling of unrest regarding Jiang Shu. Suddenly divining another Gua Xiang, he indeed encountered the Hurt Gate, colliding with the White Tiger spirit and approaching the Tianpeng Star, a sign of injury and entrapnt.

Shi Feiyang hastily left Jiuhua Mountain and sped back to Divine Sound Cave in Jiufeng Mountain, Fujian, at his fastest pace.

From a distance, he saw red flas burning inside the cave, the signature Demon Fire of the Western Demon Cult, and amidst them surged the Golden Wheels, the very technique just used by Chuandeng Monk.

He swooped down to the entrance of the cave, conjuring the Hunyuan Umbrella and extending it to capture the Demon Fire, spinning at a high velocity.

To counter various Demon Fires, the Snow Soul Pearl of Deng Bagu was extrely effective, as its Snow Spirit Divine Light extinguished all Demonic Fire and evil influences wherever it reached.

The Hunyuan Umbrella was not as convenient, but after several reforgings by Shi Feiyang, the umbrella contained True Water, which, in combination with the umbrella’s core, created a beneficial mutual generation cycle between tal and water. First using a ring of Circulation Talisman Light to trap the Demon Fire, it spun like a large exhaust fan, drawing the Demon Fire along with the Golden Wheels continuously into the dark clouds on the umbrella’s surface, and then dispersing them.

Inside, Chuandeng Monk had remotely arranged the Divine Fire Golden Wheel Formation, entrapping Jiang Shu within. The fierce flas raged and the Golden Wheels danced; Jiang Shu too had crushed and scattered many with his Flying Sword and Taiyin Divine Thunder, but the Demon Fire Golden Wheels, ceaselessly generated by the Array, were impossible for him to eradicate completely.

At that mont, his Flying Sword was entangled by nurous Golden Wheels, tightening inwardly; with every Golden Wheel added, the weight doubled, and it had beco immobilized. The Demon Fire surrounded him endlessly, the fire contained chaotic flying Golden Wheels, and every spell barrier he deployed was either burned by the Demon Fire or shattered by the Golden Wheels.

Shi Feiyang’s Hunyuan Umbrella, which draws fire, was much faster. The silent spinning of the precious umbrella completed one hundred and eighty thousand cycles in a mont. Initially, new Demon Fire and Golden Wheels could replenish continuously within the cave, but eventually, the newly generated ones couldn’t keep up with his extraction. After one hundred and eighty thousand cycles, not a fla or Golden Wheel remained within the cave.

He broke the Demon Formation, collected the umbrella, and entered the cave. Jiang Shu fell to the ground, coughing up blood. Upon seeing Shi Feiyang, he smiled and said, "I owe you my life for coming to my rescue, but that ancestor of my past life you ntioned has yet to show himself."

Shi Feiyang saw that Jiang Shu had been hit by the Golden Wheels several tis. A direct hit had broken his spine, shattered his right shoulder blade, snapped many of his left ribs, and his internal organs were mostly ruptured. Burns from the Demon Fire covered his arms and face extensively. It was apparent that his life was hanging by a thread.

Despite the severity of his injuries, Jiang Shu’s spirit remained high. He managed a bloodstained smile, with light still shining in his eyes, "I haven’t awakened any mories of my past life as you said I might. Instead, it seems my life is drawing to a close once more. After I die, please find a good family for to be reborn into. Then co and guide again. In my next life, I’ll be your disciple. By then, I won’t be afraid of awakening my past mories..."

Shi Feiyang placed him on a stone table, "Talk less for now, gather your Essence Energy and Divine Sense. Rest assured, with here, you can’t die even if you wish to unless I permit it."

Jiang Shu, enduring the excruciating pain, insisted, "You don’t need to comfort . I can sense it; my spine is broken, my internal organs are all ruptured and bleeding. Not even a Daluo Immortal could save now."

"I may not be a Daluo Immortal, but I can save those whom a Daluo Immortal cannot," retorted Shi Feiyang.

Shi Feiyang took out two dicine bottles and a box of ointnt. He administered an Elixir to Jiang Shu first, then channeled True Qi into his body, aligning each fragnt of shattered bone back into its original position with impeccable precision. He repositioned and realigned the injured internal organs and applied the ointnt to his upper body.

Finally, he took out two Immortal Pills, dissolved them with True Qi, and guided strands of Dan Qi through Jiang Shu’s seven orifices: eyes, ears, mouth, nose. The Qi flowed through the Twelve Main ridians and Extraordinary ridians, penetrating the inner organs and outer flesh, delivering the dicinal essence to every corner that needed healing.

In the end, Shi Feiyang patted Jiang Shu’s forehead, "Take a good rest. When you wake up, you’ll be healed."

Jiang Shu wanted to continue discussing the Elixirs’ origins with Shi Feiyang, but with that gentle pat, his consciousness faded, and he fell comfortably asleep.

When he next opened his eyes, two days had passed. Turning his head, he saw Shi Feiyang sitting cross-legged on a wide stone chair in ditation. Jiang Shu felt no pain in his body. He tried to lift his head, and felt no pain in his shoulder, no internal discomfort. Sitting up, still, there was no pain. He touched his ribs, finding the bones nded, with no sign of pain even when pressed firmly.

"You’re awake? How did you sleep?" asked Shi Feiyang.

Jiang Shu hopped to the floor, moving his body around in astonishnt, "It’s as if I had a dream. I dreamt you were gone, then the big brother of those two demons we killed days ago—Chuandeng Monk, I believe—ca for , unleashed Demon Fire on ..."

"Let’s just consider it a dream," Shi Feiyang stood up from the stone chair.

Jiang Shu tensed up again, "You’re not leaving, are you? I have a premonition that if you leave, what happened in my dream will beco reality. Chuandeng Monk will truly co, trap in the Demon Formation, and overpower . He will beat half to death. Would you co back to save then?"

Shi Feiyang laughed heartily, "Let’s go; I’ll take you to find sothing good."

"Sothing good? What is it?"

"Your Flying Sword is of too poor quality; it’s not befitting of your future..." Shi Feiyang paused, then continued, "In short, it’s not capable of much. I’ll take you to find a fine sword. Once you acquire it, we can confront Chuandeng Monk together and decapitate him."

"Really?" Jiang Shu was both surprised and delighted, "Are you going to find a fine sword as a gift?"

Shi Feiyang nodded, and Jiang Shu, overjoyed, went to the back of the cave to change his clothes and gathered his belongings. He ca out and sealed the entrance to the cave.

As they were about to take flight, Shi Feiyang felt the sensation of being observed through space once again, causing doubt to arise in his heart. Could the stealthy observer be Chuandeng Monk, artfully reversing Yin and Yang, altering the divination to make it seem that he was tricked by the disguise of Jiang Shu’s senior relative?

Silently, he cast a divination, which continued to show as Jiang Shu’s senior relative.

He divined whether it was Chuandeng Monk or the One Light Master, but it revealed that it was neither.

Surely that Barbarian Monk can’t be so formidable as to freely manipulate my divination?

Yet if it were truly Jiang Shu’s senior relative, why hadn’t they intervened?

Unable to discern the truth for now, Shi Feiyang set aside his doubts and took off with Jiang Shu, heading straight for Yellow Mountain, leaving Jiufeng Mountain behind.
