Starlight Entertainnt has a public makeup room, but Anna Thornton rarely visits it.
Because she’s quite good at makeup herself, usually can put it on casually, and only uses a professional makeup artist if required for a role.
So if there’s no chair with her na in the makeup room, Anna Thornton thinks it’s understandable.
Then she walked in and glanced around, really finding none.
But one na caught her eye imdiately—Angela Thornton!
The chair with ’Angela Thornton’ stuck on it was placed right at the center in the most obvious spot, like the winner of a popular idol talent show. Her chair was the biggest and most eye-catching, and there was the most makeup put on it; clearly, her treatnt was different from others.
Anna approached and checked; all the lipsticks and foundations Angela used were major brands, and so lipstick colors were sold out worldwide. Even Anna didn’t have them, yet she saw them here.
"Hey! What are you doing? Don’t touch Sister Angela’s things!"
Soone reprimanded from behind her.
Anna Thornton turned her head; two girls walked in arm in arm, holding milk tea cups.
They were artists newly signed last month by the company, and one of them even caught Anna’s interest; she planned to recomnd her to a production because she had a good image.
Anna had instructed her agent to ask them to co to her studio in the afternoon, but she didn’t show up; instead, she was busy drinking milk tea with a friend.
"Oh, it’s you!" The two newcors recognized Anna but didn’t change their attitude because of this; instead, there was a hint of disdain and vigilance in their gaze, "What are you doing here in the makeup room? This isn’t your place!"
"What’s that? Is there a rule saying I can’t co to the makeup room?" Anna retorted.
"Not really! But aren’t you quite popular lately? You are the top artist of our company now, and you never used to co to such a public makeup room before."
"I heard that when Marilyn Ford was the top artist, she had a private makeup room set for her; why don’t you ask the company for one?"
"Is that so? I’m the top artist in the company?" Anna shrugged, "I wouldn’t know if you didn’t say so!"
When others are top artists, they act all arrogant and mighty, and people flatter them wherever they go.
Why does Anna feel like her treatnt is completely different when it’s her turn!
Even the two newcors in the company can act disdainful towards her.
Why aren’t there any cute little junior sisters chasing after her, calling her Sister Anna, showering her with gifts and eagerness?
Soon, Anna witnessed this kind of treatnt, but not towards herself.
When Angela Thornton entered the makeup room, there were several people following behind her.
Even the two junior newcors who put a rude face to Anna quickly put on a smile when they saw Angela, calling her ’Sister Angela’ very affectionately.
"Sister... Angela?"
How old is Angela anyway? Her peer, Faye Duval, was an intern under Anna now.
Many artists had deeper age and experience than her, yet they humble themselves before Angela.
Angela was obviously used to enjoying such adulation, but when her eyes lifted and noticed Anna ahead, her expression froze a bit.
And seeing Faye Duval behind Anna, her face turned even paler.
"Anna... Cousin, what brings you to the makeup room today?" Angela appeared sowhat flustered.
Anna simply stared at her, coldly smiled, "I rember telling you, I am no longer your cousin, stop calling that randomly in the future."
Anna’s words were a threat, back when Angela pushed her out to take the fall, all familial ties were cut.
It was fortunate she hadn’t settled scores with Angela; she still dared to disgust her.
Angela was embarrassed, her face flushed then turned pale, quickly lowered her head and brushed past Anna, sitting down in her spot.
Her behavior in front of Anna was due to her guilty conscience, afraid of being exposed.
However, there were people unaware of the truth who sided with Angela, whispering reproaches against Anna: "What kind of person is she?"
"Exactly! She beca popular and turned her back on people, how dreadful!"
"Moreover, Angela wasn’t intentionally trying to get close to her, Angela hardly ntioned her even after joining the company. Wasn’t it Anna herself who previously used her familial status to try seducing soone else’s boyfriend? Now she pretends to be noble."
"So what if she’s popular, can many fans compare to Sterling Group’s grand company size? President Sterling could ban her with just a flick of his hand; doesn’t she know what she’s flaunting in front of Angela?"
...
Anna recalled reading about a convict who after coming out of jail pretended to be a wealthy heir, scamd in high society, eating for free, and even dating girls, never getting caught.
She used to find it odd, now realizing Angela was sowhat talented in such ways too!
Angela wasn’t as innately gifted in manipulative acts; after all, Anna witnessed how poor Angela’s acting was.
But her strength lied in her entering the company with an overbearing princess attitude. Back then, she frequently approached Henry Willow, all aloof towards others. She considered herself superior, being an artist personally recruited by President Sterling.
Her antics made people believe she was genuine.
Gradually, she attracted a group of people who fawned over her, arguing she was spoiled since childhood, backed by President Sterling hence daring to act so brashly.
Angela wasn’t particularly pretty, lacked acting skills, possessed no talent; such a person would struggle to survive in a typical entertainnt company.
Yet she had stayed at Starlight Entertainnt for so long without any accomplishnts, remaining highly conspicuous, which led many to believe the rumor she was President Sterling’s girlfriend.
Ah, seems like you’re surrounded by fools in this society right now!
...
After Anna left the makeup room, others imdiately surrounded Angela, forming a circle, speaking for her even more loudly.
"You all stop talking about my cousin like that, in the end, we’re family. Before coming to Aethelgard, my dad specifically told to support my cousin." Angela spoke, yet her eyes clearly showed dissatisfaction.
She had been pampered to the point of arrogance lately, but Anna almost embarrassed her in front of everyone earlier.
"Angela, you’re too kind; others don’t see you as family, didn’t notice how arrogant her attitude was just now?"
"Oh, Angela, I saw Anna standing in front of your makeup table for a while just now; you must check whether your things have been tampered with. Better be safe than sorry!" soone reminded.
Although most of these newcors had limited experience, they had heard all kinds of gossip, particularly obsessed with the open and covert battles between female stars.
So people use all sorts of ans to snatch resources.
The remark reminded Angela.
Her eyes flickered, "Understood, you all disperse for now!"
