During the Cold War, after Anna lulled Pop to sleep, she went out at night without needing to explain to Conrad Sterling.
However, the man in the second-floor study still heard the sound of her car’s engine starting.
Looking out the window, he could see Anna driving away.
It’s so late, where is she going?
Earlier, at the kindergarten, President Sterling had offered an olive branch for reconciliation, but Anna herself refused to take it.
Previously, Conrad Sterling hadn’t accommodated Marilyn as much, even when Marilyn acted out, she wouldn’t sulk with him for so long without reason as Anna does.
If she insists on throwing a tantrum, Conrad Sterling just watches to see who can outlast the other.
Anyway, Anna’s movie is facing trouble, and sooner or later she’ll co to him.
Conrad Sterling, convincing himself to ignore it, returned to the computer, intending to continue working.
Incidentally, he accidentally clicked on a pop-up page, and Finn Grant’s confrontation with reporters appeared imdiately on the computer screen.
Recently, Conrad had been troubled, so he hadn’t noticed that Finn Grant had returned.
The Grant Family’s Young Master has always been high-profile; others tend to ignore reporters’ difficulties, but he often becos a headline due to his sharp retorts.
Conrad Sterling doesn’t enjoy watching Finn Grant’s antics, but hearing reporters ask if The Grant Group has any big moves coming up made President Sterling pause his hand ready to close the window.
"Young Master, Young Master, are there any big moves with your return to the country?"
"Yes!"
"Can you reveal a little?"
"I’m going to propose to a woman!"
...
Tonight, Finn Grant wore a purple suit specially to et Anna.
Sleazy purple isn’t sothing just anyone can pull off, but in formal occasions, the Young Master Grant would tie his hair into a small knot at the back, in line with his elegant yet roguish deanor, and it sohow fits him well.
This ti he went to Europe, and learned the gentleman’s ways over there, not only wearing n’s perfu but also preparing a bouquet of flowers for Anna.
However, Finn Grant didn’t expect that Anna would not co alone tonight.
Seeing Mary and Quinn Locke arriving with Anna, disrupting his plan, Finn Grant discontentedly said, "Who told you to bring so many people here?"
"Young Master Grant, you didn’t say on the phone that I could only co alone, did you?"
Anna glanced at the restaurant situation; other than them, there was no one else. It seed Finn Grant had cleared the venue specifically.
Luckily, she didn’t co alone.
"Right, didn’t you say you had invited people from the audit departnt? Why haven’t I seen them?" Anna asked.
"I sent them away; it’s sothing I could handle with a word, no need to invite them for this al."
Finn Grant looked at Mary and Quinn Locke again, "And you two, I didn’t say I wanted to invite."
Finn Grant’s way of doing things is straightforward and forceful; he never engages in politeness or social niceties, always opting for ’military control.’
Quinn Locke couldn’t withstand the strong oppressive gaze from the boss; he was about to get up and leave but was pulled back by Mary, "Understood, Young Master, don’t worry, we’ll pay for ourselves."
Mary tonight is Anna’s shield; she insists on staying no matter what.
But when she opened the nu and saw the prices, her confidence instantly deteriorated, "Is this a joke? What kind of restaurant is this? It sells things way too expensive!"
Finn Grant glanced at her upon hearing this, "This is my restaurant!"
"Uh... I have no complaints about the restaurant, I was just casually expressing my surprise, Young Master, please don’t misunderstand."
After not seeing him for so ti, Mary still, upon seeing Finn Grant, thought of him forcing the Zane Family couple to death, feeling a deep-seated fear towards this man.
That’s exactly why she’s worried about Anna.
Being targeted by such a crazy man, who knows if it’s a blessing or a curse.
"Alright!" Finn Grant snapped his fingers to call over a waiter, "Serve the top-grade foie gras to these two, on my tab."
"Young Master, you’re treating us now?"
Mary was pleasantly surprised and about to relax when Finn Grant continued, "Take them upstairs to eat, after the foie gras serve lobster, after the lobster serve steak, and don’t co down without my orders."
"Ah?"
"Go quickly!"
Being a restaurant owned by Finn Grant, tackling Mary and Quinn Locke was no issue for such a financial mogul.
Finally sending away the unwanted guests, Finn Grant actively rose to pour wine for Anna, "I’ve been away for so long, did you miss ?"
Anna asked back, "Do you want to hear the truth or a lie?"
"I only want to hear pleasant things."
"Then I better not answer."
"Anna, has anyone told you you’re very tactless?"
"Soone did." Anna looked at Finn Grant but actually thought that Conrad Sterling must feel the sa way.
"Actually, you’re a smart woman; my intentions towards you are very clear. You must have weighed things up internally by now; I can settle your troubles with just one word..."
The movie auditing issue had troubled their entire main production team for many days. Anna was unwilling to seek help from Conrad Sterling, so Quinn Locke had to reach out to his father, who couldn’t be exposed.
But Willow Family was avoiding the term ’illegitimate child’ ever since Henry Willow made a scene at the wedding anniversary, so Miles Willow couldn’t offer any help.
Thus, Finn Grant’s appearance was indeed tily!
"Young Master Grant, I should thank you for helping with such a big problem."
"Do you really need to say thanks between us?"
"Yes! Mary and Quinn Locke aren’t here, so I’ll thank them together with you, let’s toast to three drinks."
Anna proactively raised her glass to Finn Grant, yet she heard the crisp sound of tal clinking against the glass wall inside.
Could it be Finn Grant’s old-fashioned trick of hiding a proposal ring inside the glass?
He’s still not planning to give up?
That’s bad!
Anna couldn’t just put down the raised glass nor could she drink.
Facing the rule of ’what’s ant to happen will happen,’ Anna could only brace herself and say, "I’ll finish mine first!"
"No need to drink so hastily!" Finn Grant fixed his eyes on Anna, "Or do you think having a few drinks would repay , and you can clear things with ? I’ve never supported the idea of gauging sincerity by alcohol volu!"
"How about we talk serious business, I previously suggested that if you marry , I would avenge you. You wouldn’t want to see your family’s inheritance continuously falling into your stepmother’s hands, would you? With just one word from , I could even make her play dog, kneel, and apologize to you. However you want to handle her, I can et your desires. But of course, the premise is that you need to satisfy first!"
"Cough... cough!"
Anna didn’t know if it was the wine or Finn Grant’s words that made her cough uncontrollably.
The glass of red wine in her hand had already been emptied, she slamd the glass back onto the table heavily, holding her mouth with her other hand, revealing a distressed expression.
Finn Grant was still waiting for her answer, but watching Anna’s face turn red, he asked, "Didn’t I remind you to drink slowly? What’s wrong?"
Anna couldn’t speak; both hands clasped around her throat, looking as though sothing was stuck in her esophagus.
Her hand reached for a glass of water on the table, then she poured it down her throat, striving to make a swallowing motion.
After easing slightly, she barely managed to recover her breath, "The... the wine seed to have sothing, I swallowed it."
Finn Grant: "...That was my proposal ring."
