Anna Thornton brewed a cup of coffee and a cup of milk, handing them to the man sitting on the sofa and the little child respectively.
Pop held the milk bottle in both hands, timidly glancing at ’Papa’.
Then she maintained a rhythm of sipping milk while sneaking peeks at him.
However, Conrad Sterling neither accepted the coffee nor responded to Pop. Since entering, he had maintained a cold deanor as if everyone owed him eight million dollars.
"Pop is your daughter. Four years ago, when I went to see you... I got pregnant afterward. I wrote you a letter, although I don’t know if you, President Sterling, with all your many affairs, simply forgot or never received it..."
"I received it!" Conrad Sterling interrupted her.
"Oh, so you don’t believe what I’m saying? Or are you just so indifferent that you don’t care about your own flesh and blood, leaving us to be caught and left to perish in a ntal institution?" Anna Thornton sneered, not actually feeling too disappointed.
After all, she had already experienced this man’s broken promises and heartlessness four years ago.
"Anyway, you can’t fake genes. I believe with your current capabilities, President Sterling, you must have a hundred ways to investigate the truth. I wouldn’t be foolish enough to lie about things that can easily be exposed in front of you. You can take Pop for a paternity test."
"What do you want?" Conrad Sterling asked her bluntly.
He didn’t ask about the child, but he also didn’t believe that Anna Thornton, upon discovering she was pregnant, decided to have the child solely out of maternal instinct.
After all, this girl was only eighteen at the ti. At eighteen, she was still a child herself, suppressed by a bunch of opportunistic wolves in the Thornton Family, utterly powerless to fight back. After barely escaping, she stupidly delivered herself to Conrad Sterling’s bed...
With that kind of intellect, Conrad Sterling didn’t know how she managed to raise the little one by her side.
"Pop, after finishing your milk, it’s ti for bed. How about Mommy takes you to sleep?"
Anna Thornton didn’t want to discuss deals in front of the child, so she chose to leave Conrad Sterling’s question hanging.
She had deliberately appeared in front of Conrad Sterling upon her return, and intentionally led him to discover Pop, indeed with an ulterior motive.
But no matter how this man thought, standing in Pop’s shoes, Anna Thornton truly had only one goal.
That was to find Pop’s father and give the child a complete family.
Anna Thornton held the little one in her arms, gently patting her back, coaxing her while walking.
Pop laid her head on Mommy’s shoulder, eyes wide open, still looking at Conrad Sterling.
Soon, the bedroom echoed with bedti stories and nursery rhys...
Conrad Sterling stretched slightly on the sofa, the distance between the sofa and the coffee table was sowhat cramped for the man’s long legs.
Picking up the coffee placed before him, President Sterling graciously took a sip and nearly turned green in the face from the bitterness!
Anna Thornton! This little woman did it on purpose!
But due to his self-restraint, Conrad Sterling endured the teeth-aching bitterness, swallowing the coffee.
Anna Thornton deliberately lingered in the bedroom for a long ti, telling Pop three fairy tales and singing five nursery rhys, changing from her cute and cuddly bunny ear pajamas to a sexy deep V purple silk nightgown.
Upon exiting the bedroom, she saw President Sterling hadn’t left, but impatience was written clearly on his face.
This woman kept him waiting for an hour and a half, if she were a business partner, she would have been thrown out of the Sterling Group’s building by security.
After all, President Sterling was hailed by the dia as the most money-savvy man in Asia, and each second of his ti was invaluable.
Anna Thornton noticed the coffee before Conrad Sterling had been touched, a sly gleam flashed in her eyes as she unabashedly gloated, "President Sterling, it seems the coffee wasn’t to your taste. How about trying so wine?"
The wine cabinet was directly in front of Conrad Sterling, as Anna Thornton turned to select wine, her enchanting curves were fully displayed before the man.
Conrad Sterling looked up at her coldly, "I’m not in the mood for wine. State your purpose!"
Having him co over in the middle of the night to listen to this woman slowly tell stories and sing nursery rhys, President Sterling’s patience was now at its limit.
Yet Anna Thornton seed oblivious to his expressions, pouring two glasses of wine at her own pace.
Regardless of whether Conrad Sterling would drink or not, she placed one glass in front of him anyway.
Then, holding the other glass, she perched nonchalantly on the sofa armrest beside Conrad Sterling. As she sipped, her arm intentionally or unintentionally brushed against the man’s impeccably tailored suit fabric, mingling the aroma of wine with a faint fragrance of won’s perfu lingering around President Sterling.
Conrad Sterling’s veins bulged, ready to stand up and leave at any mont.
Anna Thornton finally spoke just in ti, "Getting impatient already? If it ca to waking up in the middle of the night to feed the baby and change diapers, President Sterling might go crazy, wouldn’t you?"
"Are you complaining to ? I never gave you permission to have my child!"
His use of ’permission’ was more malicious than a typical callous man.
Because it ant outright disdain!
But with President Sterling’s current status, he indeed had the right to disdain Anna Thornton, a third-rate actress with no money or power.
He had his eyes set on the heiress of the Ford Family, Marilyn Ford, the one born with both a silver spoon and a gold key.
"But I’ve already given birth to a child with half of your genes, what do we do now, President Sterling?" Anna Thornton intentionally provoked him, "Actually, you can tell at first glance how much Pop resembles you. What if Miss Ford were to find out, what do you think she would do?"
Hearing this, a storm seed to rage in Conrad Sterling’s deep, ocean-like eyes.
A high-pressure aura bore down on Anna Thornton, his hands gripping the one holding the wine glass, each word forced out through grit teeth, "What! Do! You! Want?"
Anna Thornton felt her hand growing numb, struggling to hold the wine glass.
Wasn’t this man about to snap her hand if he pressed any harder?
"I want to sign with your Dynasty Entertainnt and for you to use all your resources to promote . I want to surpass Marilyn Ford’s status in the film industry within three years. I also want you to marry , giving and Pop the proper status we deserve! After marriage, you must make ti to be with the child more to make up for her missing paternal love over the past three years!" Anna Thornton laid out her demands in one go.
