Dora sat on one of the benches, sobbing. Her body shook, as she tried to calm herself down, but to no avail. She didn’t know if she should hate Archi or not for what he did.
"How could he do this? I literally took care of him as a child, could he not even consider ?"
She felt a hand on her shoulder and froze. The touch was familiar, yet it felt like a lifeti had passed. Slowly, she turned.
It was Kaelos.
Dora’s breath hitched. Thirteen years. It had been thirteen years since she had last seen him, but he was right there—older, different, yet still him.
Her voice trembled. "What... what are you doing here?"
"I heard what happened," he said softly. "I had to see you."
Her emotions overwheld her—anger, relief, pain, and sothing else she could not na. Before she could stop herself, she threw herself at him, gripping him tightly. "Oh, Neriah!" She still called him Neriah, because she didn’t want to accept his real na "Kaelos".)
He held her just as tightly. "I am sorry," he whispered.
Just three words, but they carried all the years they had lost.
"I can not believe he did such a thing! He was such a sweet child, how did.."
"Did you hear from his side of the story?"
"What?" She disengaged from the hug, "Are you trying to say he had an excuse for trying to kill my brother?"
He shook his head, "No, that is not what I an. Archi would not just want to kill his father for no reason, he adored Oberon as a child."
"People tend to change. He was one of them," she wiped her face, looking away.
"Dora," he called her softly, "You knew him as a child, how co you just think he would kill your brother for no reason?"
"If you ca here to support him, then you can leave. I am already having a bad day, I would not like for it to get worse," she took so steps backwards.
Kaelos shook his head, "I do not want to believe that this is you Dora. What has gotten into you? Royalty?"
Dora flared up, "Did you co here to insult ?"
His brows knitted together, "Insult you? That is not what I am doing."
"Then what exactly are you trying to say. You see distressed, after so many years, and this is all you have to say to , first thing seeing ?"
"Do not get wrong now, murder is not justified, but it is really obvious he did it out of pain. Why else would he want to kill Oberon?"
Dora kept mum, rubbing her arms, her head hung low.
"I fear this might be my fate later on. My son must hate so much."
Dora whipped her head to look at him, "Do not say that, he does not hate you. I might have a problem with you, but he does not. I am not like that," she rolled her eyes, folding her arms across her chest.
"Then why do you not want to take back?"
"I am fine without you. There is.."
"I lost the kingdom to my brother. There was no need at all, it is not as if I wanted to hurt you but.."
"But? But what Neriah?"
"Listen, I am also hurt. It hurts more than it hurts you. Even though I did say I wanted an heir because I wanted the throne, I...still lost it, and now-" his face reddened, "I just want you, and our son."
She closed her eyes, "I am not so sure about.."
"It has been thirteen years. Why will you still not forgive ? I still want you, why are you doing this?"
Dora sat back down, "I do not know."
"Please," he knelt before her, and held her hand, "I made a mistake, but I am ready to make up for it. We can start all over, I really love you Dora."
Tears sprang to her eyes, "You love ?"
"I do. I always have, I.. might have made a mistake, but I always cared for you," he squeezed her hand lightly, "Co back to .
She tightened her fidgeting lips, "I.. Neriah," she slowly removed her hands from his.
"How do I co to terms with myself?"
"This is the reason why Archi is in conflict with his father? Do you want that? Do you hate so much?"
Tears dropped from her eyes, "I- do not.."
He wrapped his hands around her, "Please Dora. I had to stay thirteen years without you, please do not punish further," he kissed her cheeks.
He tasted her salty tears, "Hey, do not cry. We can all co to terms, and make a way out of this. Everything will fall into place very soon," he wiped away the tears from her eyes.
Dora sniffled, "Neriah, I really loved you.."
"You do not love anymore?" He bit his lips.
She tried avoiding his eyes, "I do not know."
He cupped her face, "Co on, of course you do. You just do not want to admit it," he pecked her lips, "I love you, and our son so much. I do not want to continue living the rest of my already miserable life without you, and our son."
Dora wrapped her hands around her neck, "Neriah," she made him rest in her bosom.
"You know, it is Kaelos, hehe."
She sniffled, "I prefer Neriah," she whimpered, "It suits you so much better."
He kissed her chest, and she gasped, "You! You are still naughty as ever!"
He chuckled in her bosom, "You just find a way of activating it," he let his hand trail down her hips, "I can not wait to claim you back as mine."
Her cheeks flushed, then she rembered the condition Oberon was in, and she was sad again.
"I do not think this is the ti for jokes. We have to find a way to heal Oberon fast, he might die."
Neriah straightened his head, "He will not die. He will be fine before you know it."
"But none of our doctors can do anything at the mont. If they could not help my son when he was poisoned with wolfsbane, how much more when Oberon is badly injured?"
"My son was poisoned? By whom?"
"That is a story for another day," she sighed, "We have to go back inside."
He nodded, "Okay."
"Oh, and yes - his na is Klaus."
