Thane groaned in defeat, hitting the floor with his palm, frustrated. He slowly got to his feet, rembering how he promised Archi he was going to take care of his mother.
He gritted his teeth in annoyance, and banged on the wall, his face contorting with rage.
"I have to do sothing, I just can not let him go away like that," he said to himself, and looked outside the already opened door.
"I do not even know where they went. How am I supposed to track them?" He scratched his head nervously.
He paced back, and forth the room, his hands behind him. A thought crept into his head, as he thought of going to et Archi, but then.. he didn’t even know where the palace was! He was just.. stranded!
"I can not let his mother being taken away like that, I have to do sothing," with that said, he dragged himself out of the house. His gaze fell on the ground, his eyes eting thier footprints that they had left behind.
"They would not think of cleaning thier footprints," a smile curved at the end of his lips, "That is it, follow their footprints till I can get a hold of where they are," he balled his fists.
"I can do this," he nodded, and closed the door behind him. He looked ahead of him, there was a long trail of footprints to follow. Grinning, he subtly followed the footprints, "I will be there to take you back mother," he whispered.
***
"It’s gone," his eyes widened, "No more footprints?" His lips slightly quivered, "How is that possible?"
He looked around making sure he didn’t miss looking at a particular spot, "It is as if they suddenly cleared traces of thier footprints, oh damn it!" He pald his face, and cursed.
"Now where do I go from here?" He shrugged in frustration. The footprints had led him to a cross road, they had just disappeared leaving him stranded.
"I just can not go back, that will be too bad," he balled his fists.
It was past dusk already. He knew very well it was that at that ti more rogues or the annoying vampires would crawl out, and he just didn’t want to encounter any of them at the mont.
He put his hands on his waist at loss of what to do.
"I can not even trace their scents right now, the number of scents that may have crosses this place within that short ti is unbelievable!" He growled, stamping his left foot.
He cursed once more rembering his promise to Archi, "I can not let him down, I will not let him down," he heaved with a hardened resolve.
His eyes scanned the cross roads trying to pick the one to follow, "Right or left?" He placed a hand on his chin.
"Left maybe?" He heard a chilling voice behind him.
He slowly balled his fists again, cursing silently, not again! He slowly turned around to et the fiery eyes of a vampire.
’Why do I have to be so unfortunate today of all days?’
"Today of all days had to be the day you’d appear from nowhere?" He gritted his teeth in rage.
The vampire chuckled softly. He had very fiery eyes for a vampire, though they had sunken deep into his sockets a very pale skin, and lips, he had no hair on his head. He was wearing a black cloak that covered most of his body.
"It is a pleasure seeing you Mr. Werewolf," he grinned.
"It is definitely not a pleasure eting you at all, now if you will excuse , I have very important business to do, thank you," he clasped his hands together, and gave him a mock bow, turning on his heels to leave.
"Now.. now.. where do you think you are going?" The vampire asked with his chilling voice which was cooker than ice.
"What do you want?!" Thane lashed at him, rooted on his spot.
"Tsk, first of all let give you a proper introduction of myself," he held his head, tapping it lightly, "Oh how rude of not to introduce myself! My na is Carmiilla."
Thane scoffed, "What am I supposed to do with that? Just leave , and go find soone else to rant your nonsense to," he took so steps forward.
"Do not be such a boring fellow," he felt a cold palm on his shoulder. This ti he literally froze on the spot.
"It has been long since I last saw a beautiful werewolf, hehe, be my guest tonight pretty boy."
Thane stood transfixed to the ground, he could neither turn nor move, it was as if his legs were pinned to the spot."
"Loosen up, and have so fun!" He shook Thane’s shoulders playfully.
He firmly held down his shoulders, and made him turn around very quickly he didn’t know what was happening, "Agh!" Thane groaned loudly, "Are you out of your mind? Do you want to break my legs?"
"Oh, I am in a good mood today, I would not want to just break a pretty werewolf’s leg, not while I am in a good mood," he shook his head.
Thane growled, striking a fighting posture, "I bet we should end this once, and for all huh?"
Carmiilla grinned, but his grin didn’t reach his eyes, "Do not be so stupid," with a clench of his fists, Thane could feel his breath slowly cease, and began to choke.
He felt an invisible hand clutch around his throat, choking out all of the air in him. His eyes widened, and his face grew blue from the lack of air.
"It has been a very long while since I last sucked a wolf’s blood," he flashed his fangs, "I am guessing yours will be just too delicious."
Thane felt punched in the gut. Was he going to die without saving Nyx first? He didn’t want to let Archi down, he didn’t want to break his promise, he didn’t want to fail Nyx.
He was growing out of breath by the second, his eyes were now completely wide, his whole face was now blue, and his skin was becoming pale.
Carmiilla’s grin grew wider, "Die."
