"What are you doing here?" She asked, fury obvious in her eyes.
"Dora," Oberon called.
She looked at him.
"Give him a chance to speak," he nodded at her.
She squinted her eyes, "Give him a chance? I know he’s here for the pup, and wants to claim him so he can get an access to the throne before his step brother does!"
He sighed, "Dora," he walked up to her, leaving Kaelos at the door.
He sat beside her on the bed, "I know why I said you should give him a chance, please.. he’s better off than I am, he cares Dora," he looked into her eyes, trying to prove her point.
Dora bit her lips, and looked away, "Okay."
"Thank you," he whispered, took her hand, and squeezed it. He took the baby from her, and stood up, and headed back to the door. He stopped by Kaelos’s side, "Make her happy, or else I will kill you."
Kaelos nodded, "I understand."
He left them alone, and Kaelos closed the door behind him.
Dora held her baby closer to her bosom, and made sure to avoid eye contact with him.
"Dora," he smiled at her, and walked towards the bed.
"I see no reason why we should be physically close to each other. You can sit at the far end of the bed," she said firmly.
He was hurt again by her words but still covered it up with a smile. He did as she wanted, and sat at the far end of the bed.
"Who told you I have given birth?"
"I had the instinctual awareness, I just could not shake it off."
She squinted her eyes, "You could feel.."
"Yes... I felt it."
"How.. did that happen? I thought you decided to ignore the fact that we are mates?"
"I would not do that for anything in the world Dora."
Her eyes stung with tears, "Oh, so when you left all stranded, what was that? Being the mate that you are?"
"Dora please try to understand, I.."
"I do not want to understand anything. Just do what you ca here to do, and then leave."
He paused and dropped his gaze not knowing what to say at first. He later raised his head, "Dora.. you are being brutal with your words."
"You were more brutal to with you actions!"
"Please understand !"
"Do not yell at !"
He held his face, and heaved. He raised his face again, , "Please.. just listen to ., I beg you."
"I do not want to," she sniffled, and hugged herself. He got up from where he sat, and went to her side, before she could say anything else, he embraced her.
"Leave alone!" She tried to disengage from the hug, but he hugged her tighter. He buried his face in the nook of her neck, and whispered, "I am sorry, please listen to ."
She shook her head in a daze, her eyes spinning.
"You just gave birth a few hours ago, please stop stressing yourself," he cooed.
She sniffled, "Why did you have to do that to ? I trusted you.. I gave you myself," her voice broke.
He caressed her hair, "I never ant to do that to you.. I am sorry, I was selfish, and I regret it."
She looked up at him, "Regret it?"
He bit his lips, "I put you through a lot of pain, and that is not what I intended to do to you at first," he kissed her hair, "It is okay if you want to deny access to him, I understand."
Her heaving reduced till she was breathing peacefully. She felt weak, so she leaned forward and rested her head on his chest.
His heart skipped a beat, but he tried comporting himself so she wouldn’t think otherwise.
"Kaelos.."
He raised his brows, "That was the first ti she had called him by his real na. His face flushed, and he wrapped a hand around her waist, pulling her closer, his hand gently tapping her back.
"What is it?" He asked, trying to be as calm as possible.
"Your mother sees as so kind of pup nursery. I fear, that is how you see too."
He creased his brows, "Dora.. I do not see you as any kind of benefit to ... I can promise you everything I did was on pressure, not because I ant it, and I am sorry."
She sniffled, her lips quivering. He patted her back again, "The elders grew impatient.. now my brother is the heir to the throne. His coronation is just a few weeks from now."
Her heart skipped a beat, and she pulled away, "What? Him? He can not be Lycan king! He is cruel!"
He shrugged, "What could I do?’
"He.. had a child now?"
He shook his head, "His mate is pregnant now.. and since I could neither produce a mate, or a heir, I had to step down."
She shook her head in disbelief, her eyes widening, "That is.." she bit her lips, her heart pounding.
He smiled gently, "There is nothing I can do anymore."
"What about your mother?"
"I told her.. she was enraged, and demanded I brought you back to the palace but I had to refuse. I respect you a lot, and would not want to hurt you a second ti.. even though that is what I did," he dropped his gaze.
Dora was still in shock, she wanted to say sothing but then she kept quiet.
"I.. am sorry," she apologized.
He laughed gently, "It is not your fault. It does not matter if he is heir to the throne anyways, I sure can do without it," he grinned, and pulled her nose.
"Ow!" She smacked his hand, and he chuckled.
"Dora.. uh.. I know you do not want here, and around your son," he knew Dora would be pissed if he called the pup his son also.
"Is it okay if I see him too?"
There was silence as she tried processing what he had said, and she sighed.
"Okay."
