NYLAH

Sofia and I finished eating at the pack’s kitchen, and she went to freshen up while I went back to the pack hospital.

There was nothing for to do anyway, so I just sat there, watching them offload the herbs Sofia got.

"Let see that." I requested for the plant that Sofia showed earlier that was capable of killing or healing.

While I examined it and studied its features, a voice called from behind. It was strange and so cheerful for so reason.

"Oh, bless the goddess! She is here! I found her!" The voice continued chanting.

I couldn’t help but turn around to the source of the voice.

I saw a man approaching the pack hospital, and he was half running, like he was coming to cash out his lottery ticket.

"What is he talking about?" I muttered, asking the store keepers who also paused to look at him.

They all looked clueless.

Maybe he was ntally unstable, I concluded. Having no clue who he was. I have read nothing about ntally unstable people, so I didn’t know how we would be able to treat him.

However, I noticed that the guards weren’t following him. He was walking or rather running to the hospital by himself. That was a good sign that he wasn’t out of control, I guess.

"Thank the goddess!" He continued coming closer.

He was coming really close, and I had to stand up to lead him into a room so he could be attended to. The other store keepers seed scared, so I had to step up.

As I approached him, he stopped, just stood there, smiled widened, and hands spread out as if to embrace . He looked at like I was a gold mine.

"Okay just co with to your room. You will be attended to." I wanted to lead him into his room, and he was turning to follow but stopped when he heard that he would get checked.

"I’m fine." He replied

I nodded knowingly. Every ntally unstable person doesn’t believe they are unstable except in rare cases where they actually want to get treated.

"I know that you are fine, just co with so that we can make sure that you are fine." I repeated, but he hesitated.

"I am truly fine. I just got healed after taking the plant of life a few minutes ago, and the moon goddess told to co here and that I will find you and you are here just like she said." He explained, and I arched a brow, pausing in my tracks.

My mind went to the guards who visited the pack hospital and kitchen for so food urgently and what they said. They ntioned that the person wasn’t a werewolf, but he claid that he could hear from the moon goddess.

I guess I was standing in front of the man in question.

"Okay..." I replied slowly as I now knew who he was.

Xavier hadn’t said anything about him yet, and he was nowhere to be seen. I knew I had to keep him busy, or else he might move on to disturb the pack mbers.

"Why don’t we go to my garden while you tell everything, including why the moon goddess asked you to find ?" I suggested the most friendly smile I could make, and he nodded eagerly.

I walked out of the hospital first, and he followed. When he stepped into the sun, I could see his face more clearly.

The tiny wrinkles, pale skin, and torn old clothes I presu were the clothes he was putting on when they saw him and brought him into the pack.

His long white hair brushed against his back, and he walked with more agility than a man his age would.

"So, how did they find you?" I asked, sparking up a conversation.

"I was at the Elders’ house dying. I had the opportunity to leave, but the goddess told to stay put so that I would be found and I did. Here I am today." He explained

"I see. So she is the one who told you to find now too?" I asked, and he nodded.

"Correct. I healed faster than the guards expected to. When I woke up and told them I was fine, they didn’t believe . Maybe it’s because I do not have a wolf." He spoke so casually like he had known prior to our eting.

"This garden is well arranged, beautiful." He comnted when we got to the garden.

I gestured to the seat by the garden, but he waved my offer to sit down away and entered the garden instead. Sniffing in the flowering plants and herbs.

"Wow, you’ve got a nice selection of herbs here. How did you know of this one?" He touched the flower. Sofia and I once sat there to discuss. A powerful healing plant.

I shrugged.

"A couple of readings, I guess."

He dropped it.

"Not everyone likes to read, let alone about so old plants. You are one of a kind." He replied.

"So, can you tell what the goddess is saying concerning ? Why did she send you to , and why am I here?" I asked casually, and a part of wanted to know the answer.

I’d spent months finding answers to questions that I still have no answers to. I just buried the questions deep inside, but seeing this man who claid he knew a thing or two, I wanted to ask him all those questions and have them answered.

He inhaled as if searching the air for the answers. He finally turned to .

"You don’t choose the questions the moon goddess answers. I hear nothing from her." I nodded.

How did I even expect to get sothing out of soone who was sick a few minutes ago?

For the remainder of my afternoon, I just listened to him talk and talk. My only replies were hums that pushed him to talk even more.

"Will you have dinner with today? You might get an answer over dinner." He asked, and I guess it was because I was always answering with a hum. But I did it again, absent mindedly, and he clapped with joy.

When I caught myself and looked at him with confusion, it was already late. I’d already agreed to dinner with a stranger.
