XAVIER

I excused myself to take a call from my informant. I sent him to spy on Alpha Dmitri’s pack and inform of any movent or plans they were making.

So I wasn’t bothered by Alpha Dmitri’s calls and ssages, as long as I was assured by my trusted informant that the pack wasn’t planning anything against my pack.

"Alpha Dmitri’s planning on storming your pack in a week’s ti or even less, his armies are charged, and they’re pissed." The male from the other end inford.

My brows furrowed upon hearing him. Those ruthless warriors were always pussed whenever they were going to war. It was almost like a tradition.

Their pissed faces flashed across my mind on the day they wiped out a good amount of my pack mbers, they weren’t even happy like other warriors would be, they were still as pissed as they were when they ran into the pack and killed everyone in their path.

"Okay. Continue to keep watch and inform when it’s ti to set things up." I replied before disconnecting the line.

Eric was one of the victims of the last attack of Dmitri’s pack. He lost both parents and a younger sister in the fight, and since then, he swore to live the rest of his long life fighting against them.

I didn’t bother returning to the room where I left Nylah. Instead, I went to the assembly ground and rang the big bell that was ant to gather the pack mbers within the pack.

After a couple hits, the assembly ground was filled with most of the pack mbers.

’What’s going on?’ Brian asked through the mind link.

I’d said I wanted to keep it on the low but with the knowledge that Dmitri was preparing his warriors to hunt us down and destroy us, I couldn’t continue to deceive my pack mbers, or let them walk around without the knowledge of a potential enemy lurking around.

’I need to inform them of Alpha Dmitri’s attack, his armies will storm the pack any mont.’ I replied through the link, and Brian went silent. I’m sure he saw reason with .

He walked towards and stood beside instead, his hands pressed to his back.

"Thank you all for coming out." I started, turning to the waiting crowd.

"Not to waste ti, the deal between myself and Alpha Dmitri didn’t go as planned, and he’s storming the pack with his army." This caused the crowd to murmur amongst themselves, and I could see fear on their faces.

"Calm down, everyone. we won’t just sit back and watch. We will fight back to protect our pack!" My deep bass voice sent a chill through the crowd, and they started nodding at my words.

"Our warriors are training, and we’re building a barrier to give up leverage and huy us ti before they close in on us, but we need more!" I paused and darted my eyes through the crowd to confirm that they were following.

"Is there anything anyone of you can do to help us stand better chance? If you know a lot or a little about drugs or treatnt or healing or stitches, please avail yourself. We need to co together to build an unbreakable force." My eyes shifted to the left side, and I caught sight of Nylah, approaching the assembly with knitted brows.

She was still on her lingerie that was almost transparent. The thought of her being naked under the frail material made shift my gaze back to the crowd and continue to urge them to help.

Just as I was about to dismiss the crowd, one of our warriors was carried in by two other warriors, and there were blood trails behind them. I followed the trails to the warrior’s leg and noticed that he was badly injured.

His left leg was bleeding profusely, his pant was soiled with blood. Both fresh and dried blood. His pants blocked us from seeing his leg clearly.

Murmur resud in the crowd, but I didn’t wait to calm them down and instead raced towards the bleeding warrior.

He was taken to the pack hospital.

"What happened?" I asked the mont I walked into the room.

He was laid on the operation table and was so weak that he was sleeping off.

"His leg was caught in a bear trap outside when he went for parole." One of the two guards who brought him in explained.

"Who the hell puts bear traps around here?" I asked furious.

They both bent their heads, and the answer was clear.

It was a warning sign from Dmitri. He must’ve sent so n to set the traps so that my warriors would be taken down without adequate care. They might lose their lives. Not only would it reduce my already little army, it would keep distracted, trying to find a way to treat them and not lose any more of them, I wouldn’t see him coming until he’s close enough to strike.

"You think Alpha Dmitri did this?" I asked, wanting so kind of approval.

"He used this sa tactic the last ti." One of the guards confird my fear.

"I think his bone is broken. That’s why his wolf can’t heal him. It’s too fatal. He’ll need to get his bone fixed so his wolf can heal him or else he’ll die from blood loss." The other warrior explained just how crucial it was.

I looked around the operation room in search of a doctor or capable nurse who could fix bones, but the only nurse I saw pinned herself to the wall in fear.

There was no way we would win against Dmitri like this.

"Can I try?" A familiar voice spoke from the door, and we all turned to the source of the voice.

"Nylah, what are you doing here?" I asked

"The man needs so help, I want to help." She replied, her gaze on the warrior who was letting out low, painful grunts.

"What do you know about fixing bones? For all I know, his bones might be broken."

She was a dancer, not a doctor, and she had no history of being in that line when I ran my check on her.

"There’s no doctor here,it’s either I do it or he does from blood loss. And there’s only one way to find out what I know about fixing bones." Her gaze was now on , and she sounded fierce that I stepped aside.

"Alright then, let’s see what you’ve got." I replied with hope and anticipation.
