ZINA
They all stood there, waiting for Zina and Rowan like the occasion was a joyful one which should be greeted with nothing short of the sounds of drums and tambourines even.
Her mother even though she stood at the altar was obviously bound and her eyes unsettled. While Master, his half form perched on a stool bead like he had been waiting for that day all his life.
The Deford who aired her stared at them, a strange expression which could be mistaken for pity, or sothing more that Zina certainly didn’t care for, etched to his face.
Not wanting to see anymore of their expressions as she braced herself for what was to co, she glued her eyes on the roof of the room instead.
Arm still entiwined with Rowan’s, they walked until they reached the base of the altar. Zina’s free hand was clenched into a fist discreetly by her side just as they took their place.
As expected, there was nothing really special about the Seven Elder Witch Seers. As far as she could see, they looked like seven old won who huddled together and thrived in fear and tyranny.
Zina had once heard that seven of them possessed was what known as the lesser Supre Wolf. So while they were supre shifters, their wolf species were not necessarily as powerful as say Daemon’s Arctic Wolf, or even Rowan’s Red Wolf.
No, those wolf’s were on the highest side of the predator chain unlike Lesser Supre Wolf. But what truly made the Seven Elder Witch’s formidable was the fact that their wolf’s ford a pack. That and also the fact that they the people of the West worshipped them like a Demi god for it was rumored that when together, the seven woman could cause a phenonon that the moon goddess herself would have ordinarily caused.
Maybe that was why they had a hidden nickna—The Seven Moon Goddesses.
"Greet the Seven Elders, Thralgor." Master commanded her with a stern voice.
Zina removed her arm from Rowan’s, wearing a smile that hid her bared teeth. Bowing ever so slightly, she greeted them.
"I now greet the Seven Elders Witch Seers." She said, the very picture of expected subservience.
The seven won regarded her like a bug. Their expressions almost reluctant as though they doubted the very thing that they had personally created.
"The Seven accepts your greeting daughter," their mouths moved at the sa ti, but Zina only heard one voice.
It would have been otherwise creepy if not for the fact that she had seen many things in her little ti there.
"Do you like my gift, Thralgor? I heard ordinary people have their parents present when they wed. Your marriage with Daemon NorthSteed can be said to be invalid for reason that it doesn’t et with this requirent. This will be your real marriage."
Zina stared at her mother who looked like she was in pain, then she roved her eyes to her so called father who still wore that irking looking of pity.
"I suppose I like your gift. But don’t you think their presence sours the atmosphere?"
"Nonsense," Master exclaid obviously enjoying the twisted display. "It’s a pity that the Cave Manor doesn’t allow for strangers, this is the least we could do."
"In that case I must thank you for your thoughtfulness, Master."
Yet again, the Seven Elders seed to stare at Zina strangely, almost looking unsure. Did they notice the very thing that Master and Rowan still hadn’t noticed? Which was the fact that Zina’s mind was very much hers?
It didn’t matter to her either ways, but she still maintained her act unwilling to break it at any mont.
"We shall begin the ceremony now," they said again in one voice even though all their lips moved at the sa ti, "after the ceremony, Thralgor will et her people outside of the manor. And she will preach the way of the one true wolf to everyone who must hear."
Zina had in fact been counting on that ever since she saw herself outside of the Cave Manor in her visions so she smiled pedantically. "Of course."
"The moon might not be visible, but its hidden presence serves as witness right here and now. Do you, Zina also known as Thralgor accept Rowan the Red Wolf as your husband?" They said in one voice, launching straight into the wedding ceremony.
"Should you not start by asking if anyone has an objection to this marriage? I understand the question usually cos last, but given our special circumstances, it’s only fair to throw the question first, no?"
All eyes snapped to her at once, including that of her so-called future husband who stood just by her side.
"What are you saying?" he growled at her under his breath while the seven elders stared impassively at them. "Have you run mad?" He whispered even though it was clear that everyone in the room could hear them.
Zina smirked, staring staring at the Seven Won who were her true enemy. They never left their abode, hence their being there was a unique circumstance. So he’ll would have to freeze should Zina let go of the chance to confront the seven won who destroyed her life even before it began.
"Does anyone have any objections to the marriage?" The seven won spoke in one voice, hardly unfazed by the interruption.
"I do," Zina said coldly and matter of fact, "in fact, I’ve an objection to everything that has happened thus far."
Rowan growled, and his claws darted out to strangle her. "You can disrespect any other person, but not the seven elders that stand right before us."
Zina smiled manically as he attempted to choke her lightly. Placing her hands over his on her neck, she pried out one of his enlongated fingers, then she pressed the sharp point to her flesh much to the surprise of Rowan who was so slow he didn’t understand what she was doing.
Her flesh broke at that part—just where Daemon’s hunting and claiming mark was, and her blood flowed—slowly at first, barely a trickle.
"Kill ," she said, her voice a low whisper. "I said stop pretending violence and actually take my life if you dare. Today is the full moon after all, should I die,
I would die for good, no?"
"What is happening, Master?" The Seven Elders said in the sa voice, and their lack of emotion and care for the situation was almost disappointing.
Mustering great strength, Zina dug Rowan’s fingers deeper in the flesh of her neck, his wolf venom seeping into her bloodstream while Master scread for Rowan to stop.
