DAEMON

Sitting across Shadow deeper in the room at the Lunar Den, Daemon thrumd his fingers against the table impatiently as he waited for the man to speak.

Shadow was not like any of his n. For the man to appear before him at such a critical ti, then that ant he had solid news for him.

Removing his cloak, Shadow launched straight to business as expected of him even though in reality, it had been so months since he had seen Daemon.

"I’ve been keeping eyes on things as you’ve asked of , and I’ve a solid lead on the Red Sister Rose."

Daemon perked up at that information, his fingers still tapping away against the table. Information on Rose was as good as any information on Zina for he firmly believed the two couldn’t possibly be apart location wise.

Ever since they stumbled on the lead that a Red Sistwr nad Rose worked for Rowan, they had latched on that point as a ans to track down Rowan, but the woman remained ever elusive and they were never able to track her down for once.

To the outside world, it appeared that once anyone started working for Rowan and his Master, then they were automatically disconnected from the outside world by default.

But both Freya and lwyn’s actions and appearance proved that point to be naught. So of Rowan’s subordinates must still manage to maintain a connection with the outside world, and it had been left to Shadow to track down the existence of any such connection.

The man before him produced a paper which he passed on to Daemon. A quick glance at the contents showed that it was a contract of so sorts executed between two people.

The first party signed as Lanari Balga, while the second party didn’t sign with a na. Instead, the party signed with an exquisite drawing of a Rose flower whose sight had Daemon sitting up from his seat as he read the contract more throughly.

"As you can see the contract is between the Red Sister and a man who owns a blood brothel."

"A blood brothel?" Daemon said with a dark grin as the words of the contract stood out to him.

"Indeed. As you can see from the contract, Rose provides the owner of the brothel with her blood ever six months. In turn, Lunari Balga is duty bound to provide the blood for an ailing sixteen year old girl who is struck with a strange illness."

Daemon scrunched the paper together, looking up to Shadow. "Is the girl her daughter?" He asked him, knowing that he must have investigated that much if such a highly secretive contract was in his hands.

"Not daughter. Niece." Shadow answered.

"I thought the Red Sisters are infallible and all that. Turns out that’s hardly the case," Daemon comnted.

Of course he knew that much. Fionna was already an evidence that the whole system of taming and what not the Red Sisters were built on is not exactly unbreakable.

Even an advanced Red Sister like Rose still had lingering feelings she could never let go of no matter the passage of ti. Whether those feelings were skewed or not was another thing.

"For her to give her blood up every six months without letting either Rowan or his Master to know if it," Daemon reasoned, "she must have either left the abode, or she invited the man himself to this very secretive abode. The latter doesn’t seem possible, so it must be the forr, right?"

Shadow nodded. "The point of exchange is by the Blue Seas."

"The blue sea is vast," Daemon said, springing up to his feet.

"Specifically it’s by a place called the Brown Beach." Shadow answered, nailing down the exact information that Daemon needed.

"Mandem," Daemon called to the woman who was with the others at the outer part of the room.

She appeared in a second. "Your majesty?"

"Once Zelkov cos back, have him t us at the Brown Beach of the Red Sea."

"Of course your majesty." She answered without question.

"Malik," He called to the other woman just as he shrugged on his cloak.

"Your majesty?" The woman appeared instantly.

"You and Norima Talga will be following out. Mandem will remain with the Mage."

"Of course your majesty."

"I shall leave with you," Shadow interrupted the bustle with his low gravelly voice.

Daemon turned to the man. "Give it a few hours and I will surely be able to track down where Rose cos from to the Brown Beach. As for you, I need you to go and mobilize our army fighting the White Monks at the NorthWestern borders."

"Your majesty," Shadow interrupted unlike him, "there’s sothing else you must know before you leave."

Daemon froze in his steps. "And what could it possibly be that you deem more important?" He snapped, noting that Shadow had been unusually too careful with his words that night.

"There’s news that will soon start circulating like wildfire here in the West..." Shadow began to answer, "it says that Alpha Supre Rowan will marry the one called Zina by morn. The reason why I’ve co to you is to also deliver this information. As your spy network, we have naturally heard of it first."

Daemon was no longer hearing a thing once Shadow said the word ’morn’. Despite his promise to stay level headed and logical until they found Zina, he found himself being invariably swallowed by the emotional part of himself as his fists slamd through the wall in the room, denting it so bad they could now see the inhabitants of the next room.

They want you to loose your cool.

They want to use your declaration of war against you.

You must say calm regardless.

Zina would never allow them to dean her in such a way....

He chanted those words over and over again in his head, but it was the last sentence that gave him a stop. The fact that he knew Zina would rather die than allow herself to be deaned in such a way.

He had always known that she was a very prideful person, but he never thought there would co a day when he would wish she would rather not be so prideful.

If she choose death over being deaned in such a way, would he be able to take it? Would he be able to understand her? Could he not fault her?

Removing his fist from the hole that he created in the wall, he staggered on his feet.

He no longer had hours. It was going to be just five hours until morning arrived and he no longer had the ti.

Arriving at the Brown Beach, he needed to be able to counter track Rose’a step. For her to use the place as a point of exchange for the blood ant that she hadn’t strayed that far from the Master’s dwellings.

Assuming they had a thing of Roe, it would have made the tracking far more easier than it would ordinarily have been. But from what Daemon could see,the contract that Shadow had brought him was all the man had of Rose.

But asides from Daemon, there was one more person skilled in tracking. Perhaps even better than he was.

Turning to Madem Zedd he said,"change of plans. Have Zelkov co to Brown Beach once he’s back." He instructed the woman.

Storming for the door, the staff still wrapped in dark silk material gripped in his hand, they made their way the Brown Beach.

Journeying in their wolf form would only expose them and cause unnecessary trouble so Daemon had to make do with a fast carriage.

This was not a ti that called for anxiety. That would only lead him to making stupid mistakes which he couldn’t afford. Say they were exposed and he had to deal with fighting off whatever pack that had exposed them... that would only amount to so much trouble.

Even if he would definitely defeat them, it would only end up being a nuisance—the ti wasting kind in fact.

An hour later saw them by the Blue Sea. The full moon only ant that the tides were even more violent that it would usually be. With waves strong enough they washed off far beyond the shore, the violent sound was in a way a welco concealnt as they went about their work.

The only reason Daemon had brought Norima Talga as well was because he could use any help he could get. Sorcery, werewolf tracking skills, everything was welcod.

Not long after him and Malik started searching the surroundings, Zelkov joined them. Without the need for any instruction, the man went to work after informing Daemon of his findings on tracking down Rowan’s place.

As expected, the place was emptied out and Rowan nowhere to be found. Daemon knew that would be the case—the man’s dwellings was probably just a temporary place and he must have figured Daemon would be able to track it down by following lwyn’s step.

The main place where everything would go down was at the Masters secret abode. And even as the sun began to rise in the morning, they still hadn’t made an progress in finding the ever elusive secretive place.
