DAEMON

"I want two things though," Kairos answered, leaning back into his seat and crossing his legs as if to reassert his dominance in the room and the fact that regardless of Daemon’s high standing, Kairos was still considered the only Alpha of a High Ranking pack that recently erged in the last five years.

"Spill it already, Kairos." Daemon said blandly.

It was expected, of course, for Kairos to make a request in exchange for his services. Regardless of the number of favors he wanted to ask for. Daemon was more concerned as to the quality of what the man wanted as opposed to the quantity.

"I want the ans to one of your major revenue streams, your majesty. Everything from the insides of the business to every other nitty gritty."

Daemon eyed Kairos coolly. He had expected that the man would ask for that much for if ever there was a thing that most Alphas wanted, then it was the ans to making money. And that was because the door to finance was one sure way to dominate. It was why the WolfKnights were able to rise quickly due to their diamonds, and so many other packs.

He was aware that Kairos had been eyeing his finances for far too long for him to not take up the chance to inquire as to his ans.

Daemon didn’t mull over it for far too long. "Fine. I shall offer you an insight into my onyx wells."

It was a less popularly known fact that Daemon had used inferior stones to beco rich, and it all started in his teenage years. Being widely read ant that he was experintal in nature, and those experints of his bore results of how stones could be expertly manipulated to beco even more lethal than conventional silver.

At every well known black market scattered all over Vraga, Daemon’s goods were bid for the highest prices under the na of an alias rchant that he had always been using ever since his teenage days. To so people in their world, the na Kaliga belonged to the most sauciest rchant from the Arctic North, and to so, Kaliga was the man who swindled the Red Sisters ten years ago during a notorious diamond deal that was in the charge of an Alpha from the West.

It was that sa notorious incident that had been wrecked by Marcus when he went undercover that led to many thinking that the man known as Kaliga was now dead.

Regardless, the na without a known face was the very instrunt that Daemon used to gain his ever expendable riches. Although his wealth did not in any way underestimate the missions Ten Million Grams of Gold.

When Kairos wouldn’t speak again, Daemon inquired as he had not had the ti to dawdle. "And what is your second request?"

Kairos seed to be observing him impassively as if to gauge the extent of his anability to whatever devious request that ford in his mind before he said.

"I want the Theta’s popularity to also be associated with the GateStone Pack."

Daemon’s expression darkened, "what do you an?"

"Say if the Great Seer were to speak of my pack as one blessed by the gods, surely it would quell so certain tension with the people in the East, especially the Matriarchy that seeks to swallow my pack."

"And what do you take Theta for? As a re street shaman?!" Daemon’s control slipped and his voice ca out more terse and agitated than he would have wanted to sound.

He was not one to easily slip of his control nor show his weakness especially before soone like Kairos.

The man in question had the guts to smile, while raising his hands to the sign of surrender. "I had a little run in with the Theta and lwyn here could tell that she has the rare pure gift of the sight."

"Whatever your findings are, know that I shall not allow her to tell a lie."

Kairos’ lips thinned. "She would be telling anything but a lie, Daemon." He spoke frankly, speaking his na for the first ti ever since that day.

"You know it from the days that I was one of your commanders that lwyn saw persistent visions of my pack and our speedy rise. This will not only favour but it will also favour our tie as my pack being one of your greatest Ally. Besides, if we don’t stop the Matriarchy now, they might stumble upon your secret which has bore many fruits on my land."

Daemon leaned closer, "are you threatening , Kairos?" He asked in a tone that imdiately sucked off all energy in the room.

lwyn was the first to react knowing fully well the extent his titillating anger could reach.

The woman dropped to the floor, eyes rooted on him. "Your Majesty, what Alpha Kairos asks of you is more than a favour, it will indeed truly help us hide the Army we are training. The Matriarchy keeps on questioning the GateStone’s title, it must be put to a stop by a divine power."

Daemon stood from his chair abruptly, leaning before lwyn. On cue, Kairos stood too, body fraught with tension as he watched them.

"What of your divine powers, lwyn?"

lwyn grinned, but sohow it appeared so sad. "I am but a lowly sorcerer, your majesty. Even my visions, when I manage to see them, are fragnts of images that make it difficult to tell between what is real and what is not."

Daemon stared intently at her before he said, "it will be up to the Theta to decide."

"Then allow to convince her," lwyn interjected strongly, "since she will be making the decision and since she must not tell a lie, then allow to show her the truth... or perhaps, to help her see the truth."

"Be careful lwyn," Daemon said, smacking his lips together as a predator would do while circling a prey.

Understanding what he ant, lwyn bowed her head to the floor. "I shall not say a word that should not be said. I understand that she’s your mate of course."

Daemon stood to his full height, facing Kairos. "You’ve all told what you want, now it’s ti for to tell you who it is, and what it is that you must hunt."
