Prince Leonard probably had no idea that it was the way his beautiful eyes looked at and the way his alluring lips curved up into a smile that was responsible for making everything else fade away from my field of vision so that all I could do was focus on him.
"Thank you for making your queen," I whispered softly and sweetly.
The prince only nodded his head once before carefully placing the crown on the top of my head. When I was aware of the world surrounding us again, all I could hear was the thundering sound of applause that echoed in the royal hall.
...
"Hang in there for just a little longer, Mila," the prince said before flashing a teasing smile.
"I guess we’re done with two out of the three parts of what we have planned for today," I mumbled before stifling a yawn. I had no idea why I felt so lethargic and sleepy, although it was only just early in the evening. So far, the prince and I operated as the perfect team to pull off two of our most important events of the day. After a wedding ceremony in the morning, and the coronation in the afternoon, we now had only one event left, which was our wedding reception in the evening.
The best thing about the wedding reception was the fact that it was supposed to be less formal than the other two ceremonies. Although that didn’t an that I had complete liberty to do whatever I wanted, there was less pressure on because I didn’t have to follow a particularly tight schedule. I stood close to Prince Leonard as I let him lead around the large ballroom where we greeted many of our honorable guests. Everyone who was soone was supposedly there, although I did not recognize them despite being told to study the list of attendees.
"You don’t have to know anyone, but if you want to morize so of the nas, then I would recomnd that you start with mbers of the other royal families. You can leave the rest to ," the prince told reassuringly before gently patting my back in encouragent.
At first, I had to say that I truly underestimated the number of nas on the list that I was supposed to learn. I couldn’t believe that there was a mont when I honestly thought that I could manage to morize all the nas and their associated positions. It didn’t take long after flipping through the list and trying to morize it to realize that it was a completely hopeless task. I quickly took the prince’s advice in learning the nas of the key mbers of other royal families that would be attending our wedding and also the reception.
"Everything will work naturally. I’ll introduce them to you, and through that process, you’ll find out who they are," Prince Leonard told before winking at .
"Thank you so much, you probably have no idea how much this ans to . The list is just too long for to rember," I admitted honestly with a slight sense of guilt.
"Honestly, I think you have better things to do. Just try to enjoy yourself," the prince advised, and I quickly nodded my head.
The evening reception had a more casual vibe, although the decoration and flowers were not at all lacking compared to the main ceremony. People dressed in beautiful evening gowns attended to congratulate us on our wedding and our coronation. The prince kept his word by introducing to everyone so that I wouldn’t need to morize anyone’s na or position. It felt like Prince Leonard was truly a leader that I could trust, and I left everything entirely to him as I tried my best to play my part of the perfect consort, smiling at his side and occasionally slipping in safe and considerate words into our conversations with the guests.
After watching the prince converse with mbers of other royal families, I had to say that there was an aura about him that seed different from before. I had always thought that the prince was mature and very responsible, but at that mont, sothing felt different than before. I found myself admiring him while also reminding myself that Prince Leonard was no longer simply a prince; he was now the king of the kingdom. He is King Leonard now.
I still found that concept a little strange and unusual for , just like how I couldn’t believe that I was now Queen Mila myself.
"Your majesties, I would like to truly congratulate you on your wedding. I wish you both eternal happiness," Regina said before showing us both a wide smile.
"Thank you. Thank you for coming," Prince Leonard replied.
"Thank you so much," I thanked her as well.
My eyes dropped to the small girl who stood a little awkwardly next to her mother. Ever since leaving the palace, I wasn’t sure when I would run into Regina again, not like I ever ran into her that often even when she was still living in the palace. Regina’s daughter, Renee, was slightly older than Logan. I truly wished that the two of them would grow up as close friends the way that Regina and the prince were friends. However, after her breakup with Prince Florian and the two of them moved out of the palace, it beca difficult for our children to form a relationship.
"I think it’s been too long since we last saw each other. I take it that you’re happy now that you’re living out of the palace?" Prince Leonard asked without mincing his words.
"I am much happier now. Living back at ho suits more, and now that my father has given up on taking over this kingdom, he’s leaving alone, and that makes happier than anything," she replied before smiling at us.
Regina then turned to smile at Renee, and I knew that she had found the real source of her happiness. Now that the struggle for the throne was over, I guess there was no longer any pressure on Regina to beco the next queen.
