I let out a nervous laugh as I hoped that the prince wouldn’t feel offended. My fear felt like it was nonsense when Prince Leonard let out a soft chuckle to express his amusent. At first, I thought that I would feel uncomfortable about it, but as ti went by, I found myself enjoying and appreciating how much the two of them got along with each other. Maybe it was because I didn’t feel that the prince had many friends that he could interact and relate with in this way. Although I knew that it might not be my place to be concerned about him, I couldn’t help worrying that the prince might feel lonely at tis.
"Next ti, you should visit alone without bringing him along," Roxanna said before winking at .
"Excuse , but I’m the one who brought her along," the prince replied sharply.
"That doesn’t matter. In the future, Mila, visit ," Roxanna said before beaming another smile.
I could feel the intense rivalry between the two of them.
"Mila is my mate; she will stay with and go with wherever I go," the prince asserted darkly.
"Mila is my dear friend," Roxanna said as she reached for my hand before yanking on it so that I would move closer to the side of her hospital bed.
"I think that’s enough for today. You must feel so tired, so we should leave you so that you should get so rest," I suggested to bring their little argunt to an end before it would blossom into sothing more.
"That’s unfortunate. Please visit again soon," Roxanna said regretfully.
I didn’t know back then the next ti that we ended up visiting her, we would run into quite unexpected guests.
...
Roxanna had been recovering in the hospital for around two months now. Although she was in great spirits, apparently she needed ti to physically recover and was advised to take rehabilitation exercises at the hospital. After almost getting into a fight with the prince, he finally relented and agreed for her to be discharged at the end of the month. It was a wonderful and sunny day when we decided to drop by to visit Roxanna again at the hospital.
I heard the sound of people conversing inside Roxanna’s hospital room as I stood in front of the door. At first, I thought that it was Roxanna chatting with the nurses to alleviate boredom, and because of that, I entered the room without knocking on the door first. Prince Leonard followed closely behind before closing the door behind us. I froze in my steps as I blinked my eyes rapidly a couple of tis to ensure that my eyes were not playing tricks on in broad daylight.
"Prince Darius," I murmured softly to myself.
"What are you doing here?" Prince Leonard asked, and he did not sound friendly.
"You don’t have to sound so aggressive. I don’t want to be here, but I’m here because I need to be here," Prince Darius replied just as coldly.
As the two brothers stared daggers at each other, I ca to realize that there was another person in the room.
"Asana," I murmured her na softly.
She must have heard because she turned and smiled a little my way in acknowledgnt. For the life of , I had no idea why Prince Darius and Asana were together and why they were visiting Roxanna in the hospital. Regardless of the reason for their visit, Prince Leonard was clearly acting protective of Roxanna.
"Well, who would have thought that the two of you would visit at such a perfect ti! Let introduce you both to my little sister," Roxanna said as she gestured with her hand in Asana’s direction.
Sister...?
"She’s your sister?" Prince Leonard asked the question on my mind.
Clearly, we were both shocked by this developnt. I rembered that Asana was chosen to mate with Prince Darius before during that ti that I still lived in the sacred chambers. After that, I never really got to see her or talk to her again. I looked from her to Prince Darius as a sinking feeling developed in the pit of my stomach. I couldn’t help but wonder if Asana was the reason why Prince Darius couldn’t continue his relationship with Selena.
As the months passed by, I was glad to hear that Selena was doing well and was enjoying her new life. She called quite often to tell of her exciting adventures as a dical student. We both made sure to never ntion Prince Darius again, but I wasn’t certain whether Selena had moved on from the prince or if she had managed to already get over him. I just felt like it was better for not to ask. It was hard for to imagine Prince Darius having a relationship with any woman, considering how heartlessly I had seen him treat my friend even after she lost their child. So seeing him with Asana like that was truly surprising.
"You have now seen your sister as I promised. When are you going to leave the palace?" Prince Darius asked Asana coldly.
"Thank you for helping find my sister. Without your help, we would probably end up missing each other although we weren’t ever so far from each other," Asana thanked the prince warmly before she wrapped her arms around Roxanna.
The way the two of them smiled at each other told that their hearts were tightly connected. Asana must have been shocked to find out what Roxanna had been through, but it seed like everything was over now on that front because Roxanna had regained consciousness. On top of that, she managed to et up with her younger sister again. I felt a warm feeling well up in my chest, and I realized that I was so happy at their reunion.
"I searched everywhere for you," Asana said as she pressed her face close to her sister’s chest. Roxanna stroked Asana’s hair almost out of instinct.
