“Do you want to et her?” he asked, and I could tell that he thought that his idea was an amazing one.
If I could see her then that ant that she was still sowhere within the palace. I honestly could not recall seeing her around but that did make sense considering that there were countless maids in the palace. Not to ntion the fact that I have been pretty much locked inside the Sacred Chambers for so long that I wasn’t sure what was going on outside. It did make sense that I wouldn’t know all the maids that worked in the palace.
“May I?” I asked boldly.
I wouldn’t go as far as to say that I wanted to see her. Actually, the thought of seeing her scared and intimidated . However, at the sa ti, I thought that I should see her to see what kind of person she was and what relations she had with the prince. I didn’t like to think of myself as a competitive person but the strong feeling that took over seed more intense than re stubbornness or curiosity.
“If you want, I can take you to see her,” he replied calmly.
“I see. Then, I would like to see her,” I said straightforwardly.
“Sure, if that’s what you want,” he said before smiling at .
I wondered why he didn’t just co out and tell who she was and what she ant to him. Then I thought better than to push him. The fact that he wanted us to et probably ant that eting her would explain everything to and answer all the questions that I had in mind.
...
**A few weeks later**
Trouble was waiting for us when we returned to the palace. The prince discontinuing his official visit halfway caused so problems and I heard that the king wasn’t at all pleased. Naturally, Prince Leonard told not to worry about anything before he disappeared to deal with his father in clearing up the ss. Getting the girls from the orphanage that the prince managed to save to settle down took longer than we expected. Since it didn’t seem ideal to bring the girls back to the palace with us, we had to find a place for the girls to settle down. Everyone was still shocked about what had happened and I knew that it would be a longer while before we could everyone get back on track with their lives. After a few busy weeks, I was glad to be back at the palace because I got to spend ti with Jessie and Salena again.
“I’m so glad that you’re back!” Jessie exclaid as she threw her arms around and hugged tightly.
“I’m happy to be back too. I missed you two...” I confessed honestly.
“We were so worried when we heard that you’ll be coming back late,” Salena said softly.
“Sothing happened but everything all worked out in the end,” I replied before smiling her way.
“What happened? Are you sure that you’re ok?” Jessie asked.
“Prince Leonard flew back to my hotown and he helped sort out so issues back at the orphanage where I ca from,” I replied as I recalled all that the prince had done for and the other girls.
“He really did that?” Jessie asked with an astonished look on her face.
“The prince is very kind to you,” Salena murmured.
“Yes. I didn’t expect to receive so much help from him. Prince Leonard is indeed very noble and kind. I owe him so much,” I replied in agreent.
“Well, it’s great that everything worked out. You look much happier than before you left,” Jessie said observantly.
“Really?” I asked with widened eyes.
“Yes, actually before you left on the trip you looked so worried like sothing was eating at you,” Jessie explained with a worried look on her face.
I wasn’t exactly worried about the fate of the other girls at the orphanage because I didn’t think that there was anything that I could do to save them at the ti. What I was truly concerned about was my future with Prince Leonard and all the things that the Duchess had said to . However, without realizing it, I must have been worried about my family at the orphanage deep down. After all, I didn’t think that I could truly give up on saving all the girls.
“I guess there was nothing that I could do to hide it from you two. Don’t worry, though. Things are better now, and many issues have been resolved...or will be soon enough,” I said before smiling at both my dear friends.
Not everything was resolved but I was surely making progress. Even that matter regarding that woman that I saw in my mind would probably be resolve soon as well. Prince Leonard had promised to let et her so I hoped that I would find out the truth about everything related to this matter when the ti ca. After having been absent for a while on our trip, the prince was swamped with work when we ca back. I knew that I had to try my best to remain patient as I waited for the prince’s schedule to clear up.
“Your phone is vibrating, Mila,” Salena quickly inford .
“Oh...you’re right...” I murmured as I picked up my phone from the table.
I smiled at my friend briefly before distancing myself away from them so that I could have a private conversation with Prince Leonard.
“How are you feeling, Mila? Are you tired from the trip?” the prince asked warmly.
“Not at all. I’m fine...” I replied quickly.
“Make sure to get enough rest,” he reminded gently.
“Are you very busy with work? You should make sure to get enough rest as well,” I replied.
“I was quite busy, but things are getting better now. Are you free tomorrow?” the prince asked suddenly.
My heart leapt in my chest at his words because I thought that the ti had finally co for the prince to keep his promise of taking to see that woman that I saw in my mind as part of his mories.
“Yes, I’m free,” I replied imdiately.
“Then, I’ll pick you up early in the evening,” he said warmly.
“Ok. I’ll be waiting for you,” I murmured.
When I hung up the phone, I felt the stares of my two friends on . I turned and grinned at them and their wide-eyed curious expressions.
