It was obvious enough why the dress was designed to be like this. I had no idea why they had to go so far to make the dress so revealing. Prince Leonard didn’t seem to suffer much in removing whatever clothing that I had on from my previous experience with him and if the other princes were of a similar caliber, then they probably didn’t have any problem with it either.
“No,” she replied bluntly without offering any other alternatives.
“Right. It’s so complicated to put on too...” I said because I couldn’t stop myself from complaining.
“Also, the most important part isn’t how you put it on but how you take it off,” the senior maid said quite emotionlessly.
How I take it off?
By that ti, perhaps I should have been used to people talking about mating and everything related to it with a straight face; however, that wasn’t the case, and I was always taken aback by how casually people talked about it.
Before I could think of sothing to say about that, there was an unexpected knock at my door that caught everyone’s attention. The knocking sound only got louder as everyone stared at each other in wonder about who could be knocking on my door.
“Who is it?” I called out.
“It’s ,” Mada Sand’s voice spoke through the door.
“Please co in,” I said.
“I’ll open the door for her. You should just stay here,” Jessie quickly volunteered before heading to the door.
Mada Sand walked into the room with her head held high. She smiled a very wide smile at when she saw before she nodded her head at to show her approval. Apparently, she liked what she was seeing.
“You look stunning in the dress. This was definitely the right choice for you,” she voiced her thoughts openly and confidently.
“Is this really normal?” I inquired as I frowned at her.
“Yes. The other chosen honorable maidens today and all the ones before have worn similar dresses,” Mada Sand replied before she showed another smile.
“Right...” I murmured as I crossed my arms over my dress to hide so of my nakedness.
Sothing told that checking up on wasn’t the only thing that Mada Sand ca to my room for. After looking around to see that my preparation seed to be going well, she turned in Salena’s direction.
“We’re short on staff and tonight is a busier night than most. I’m sorry but I will need Salena to help ,” Mada Sand announced.
“Isn’t there soone else that can replace her? This is Salena’s first ti helping out Lady Mila with her preparations...” Jessie interjected almost imdiately.
Salena seed startled and at a loss for what to do for a mont. I could see her emotions struggling on her facial features before she made up her mind.
“Oh, sure. I don’t mind at all...” Salena quickly said.
“Is it fine if I take Salena?” Mada Sand turned to ask .
Although I knew that Salena probably didn’t want to leave , I couldn’t let any work go undone because of my own selfishness either. If I thought about it, I didn’t know why everyone was making a big fuss about eting with Prince Leonard tonight. It wasn’t like it would be my first night with the prince or my first ti eting him.
“Of course. Salena, please offer your help to Mada Sand,” I told her with an encouraging smile.
“Thank you, Mila...” Mada Sand thanked with a nod of her head.
“Thank you, Lady Mila,” Salena said softly.
I just nodded and smiled at her again with the hope that she would understand that I understood that this wasn’t her fault. There were already too many people tending to that I honestly thought that if her help was needed sowhere else, then I had no good reason to keep her.
“Follow ,” Mada Sand commanded.
I watched Salena following Mada Sand out of the room before the door closed behind them and then I let out a soft sigh. Jessie shook her head before showing a depressing look.
“Don’t worry...” I whispered to her.
...
“This is Lady Asana and she has been chosen to serve Prince Darius for tonight. Please help her dress and get ready. This is the senior maid in charge, her na is Fila,” Mada Sand explained.
Mada Sand led Salena into a room that had the sa layout as the one she was used to seeing in Mila’s room although the decoration and vibe of the room was vastly different.
“Of course,” Salena replied softly as her eyes stole a glance at Lady Asana.
“More helpers? Not sure if I need them...” Asana said dismissively.
Salena gasped when Asana turned around and let the sheer robe that she had loosely around her shoulders slowly fall completely from her body to reveal her naked form. Embarrassed and rattled by Asana’s sudden display, Salena quickly turned to look away.
“Stop scaring the poor child. You’re too bold sotis...” Mada Sand said with a hint of disapproval in her tone.
“Unlike how she’s not used to seeing people naked, I’m used to people seeing naked, so...” Asana said without much care as she shrugged her slim shoulders.
“Please keep your attitude in check when you’re in the presence of the prince,” Mada Sand warned.
“Of course. I never leave my clients unsatisfied,” Asana replied before yawning.
“Prince Darius is a prince and not your client,” Mada Sand quickly corrected.
“Whatever you say. Shall you all start dressing ?” Asana suggested, cutting the conversation short.
“Yes, we should. Nothing good cos from keeping the prince waiting,” Mada Sand agreed curtly.
Salena struggled to get over her initial shock but managed to slowly focus her mind on the task at hand. She had practiced with Jessie and the other new maids on dressing up the honorable maidens and there wasn’t a dress that she didn’t know how to put on. As if by coincidence, the dress chosen for Asana was the sa style as the one chosen for Mila but instead of it being white, the dress was a deep shade of red.
