“I’m very sorry for inviting you here when nothing is ready...” I mumbled an apology to the prince after hanging up.

Thankfully the person who had answered the call was none of other than Salena. I knew that I could trust her to bring everything that I needed and that she should be here in no ti at all. I hoped that she wouldn’t ask too many questions afterwards because I wasn’t sure what I would tell her about suddenly cooking for the prince in my room like this.

“It’s fine. I’m not yet hungry so you can take your ti,” Prince Leonard replied casually.

“Umm...you should take a seat while you wait...” I quickly suggested.

Honestly, it felt unnerving for him to be standing because it only made feel guilty that I was making the prince wait. Instead of approaching the sofa or a seat at the dining table, Prince Leonard didn’t move from where he was standing. When he flashed a little smile, my heart skipped a beat and I had to look away as if the sight of his smile was too bright for my poor eyesight to handle.

Salena, what is taking you so long?

“Relax, Mila. I appreciate it enough that you’ve invited here,” the prince said with a chuckled.

It was great that he seed amused and that his mood had not soured; however, that didn’t help to reassure for too long. I tried my best to smile at him while I continued to wonder what was taking Salena so long. As if saved by the bell, there was a knock at the door. I breathed a sigh of relief as I headed straight for the door and opened it without further delay.

“Salena...” I said her na as relief flooded my entire body.

Salena was standing there with a very large basket of ingredients in her arms. She was panting a little and her face was quite red which ant that she did do her best to rush here as soon as possible. I was certain that not that much ti had passed since I had inford her of my request; however, my restlessness and anxiety had made ti felt like it was passing by that much slower. I let Salena in and she placed the basket full of ingredients on the kitchen counter after bowing respectfully to the prince.

“Thank you so much for bringing all of this over,” I thanked her with a smile.

“It is not a problem. Do you intend to cook by yourself? Do you need help?” she asked with a slightly worried look on her face.

“Yes, I will cook. No, I don’t think that I’ll need your help. Thank you for the offer but I’m not going to be making any complex...” I replied with a smile.

Salena seed hesitant while I tried my best to show her a reassuring smile. Now that I thought about it, having her in the room might not be a bad idea. In the very least, it might ease the tension that seed to have escalated in the room between the prince and . With that thought in mind, I turned towards Salena while thinking of so basic tasks that she could help with. Maybe cleaning and chopping up so vegetables might be a good start for her.

“You may leave us,” Prince Leonard told Salena dismissively.

My mouth fell opened at the prince’s cold words. Salena looked a little stunned and flustered as she nodded to the prince before quickly bowing.

“Actually, I was thinking that Salena could help so with so basic cooking tasks...” I said.

Both Prince Leonard and Salena turned to look at when I suddenly spoke up. Cooking might take a while and I didn’t want to be alone with the prince after all. My eyes darted to Salena’s face as I pleaded for her to stay. I had no idea whether she even understood the silent plead behind my gaze.

“I’ll help Mila. You can leave,” Prince Leonard said curtly.

“There’s no need for you to do that. I can get Salena to help ...” I quickly countered.

Salena looked from the prince to and then back again and it was clear that she was confused as to what she should do. Suddenly, I started to pity her and the situation that she had found herself in.

“If you need help, I’ll gladly help you out, Mila. After all, you offered to cook for so I think it’s only right that I help you out. It would be bad for to just eat without contributing anything,” Prince Leonard said before smiling charmingly my way.

“I’m doing this to help make you feel better so I don’t think it would be right to impose on your help...” I mumbled without willing to back down just yet.

Spending ti alone with the prince might be bad enough already not to ntion having him help around the kitchen with the cooking. I glanced over at Salena who still seed lost as to what she should do.

“It’ll help feel much better if you allow to help you. You there, you may leave now,” Prince Leonard replied before turning to instruct Salena to leave once again.

This ti I didn’t know how else to change his mind, so I had to let things slide. Salena smiled a little at before bowing to the prince again. I watched as she took her leave silently from the room, and soon, I was left all alone with the prince with a bunch of uncooked ingredients for our al.

“Now that that’s settled. Mila, tell what I need to do...” Prince Leonard said enthusiastically as he turned to face with a smile.

The way his blue eyes seed to sparkle excitedly made feel like he was looking forward to cooking together with . If I wasn’t wrong, then the prince didn’t actually know how to cook. That seed to make sense considering the army of kitchen staff that was employed by the royal household.
