Although I should have known that already, hearing it from Prince Darius made my chest tighten painfully. I knew that I shouldn’t think about the past, but I couldn’t help but wonder what she was like and where she was now. Of course, I kept these silent thoughts and questions to myself without voicing them.

“If you face any problems or if you just need soone to talk to, you can always reach out to . I’ll listen to you, and I’ll always help you, Mila,” Prince Darius promised as his grey eyes kept on staring at from across the table.

“Thank you very much. I will keep that in mind,” I replied politely.

It seed like all he wanted to do was help and that was probably because he wanted things to work out for his younger brother. On top of that, he probably wanted to increase the chance that Prince Leonard and I will produce an ultimate alpha heir. I bit on my lower lip at the troubleso political conflict that I had been trying my best to ignore.

“Sorry for dropping by unannounced like this. I must have surprised you. Please try to get along with Leo,” Prince Darius said before he slowly got up from his seat.

I stood up imdiately as well to send him off. It seed like our unplanned conversation had already co to an end, and I was sohow very relieved to send Prince Darius off before Prince Leonard got here. I honestly did not want to find out how Prince Leonard would react to see Prince Darius here.

“Thank you for coming to see ...” I said as we got to the door.

“Be a good student, Mila,” he said with a charming smile.

“I will,” I promised while sounding too confident for my own liking.

Prince Darius showed one last smile before turning to reach for the door. Suddenly, the door opened even before the prince had touched it. My heart felt like it had co to an abrupt stop when I saw Prince Leonard standing in the doorway. The two brothers ca face-to-face with each other, and it felt like lightning had just struck down onto the building.

Why did the timing have to be so perfectly disastrous like this?!

“Leo...” Prince Darius called his brother’s na.

“Why are you here?” Prince Leonard asked without bothering to hide his discontentnt.

“I ca to see how Mila is doing and to wish her luck with her lessons,” Prince Darius replied smoothly.

“Is that all?” Prince Leonard asked without stepping out of the doorway to let his brother through.

A lump ford in my throat after I saw just how angry Prince Leonard seed. I should have known that sothing like this was bound to happen. Imdiately, I started to regret not sending Prince Darius back sooner than this.

“Is there supposed to be sothing else?” Prince Darius asked innocently.

“If you’re done, you should leave...” Prince Leonard said before stepping to the side and motioning with his arm for his brother to leave.

“Don’t worry, Leo. All I did was speak with her. You see, I even did it with those two maids present,” Prince Darius explained with a chuckle.

“Leave,” Prince Leonard said coldly.

“By the way, Mila, has Leo told you about your upcoming trip?” Prince Darius said as he turned back to look my way.

“What trip?” I asked blankly.

“You haven’t told her about it yet?” Prince Darius turned to ask his brother.

My eyes shifted to Prince Leonard as I wondered what Prince Darius was talking about. Prince Leonard had not ntioned anything about going on a trip and definitely not one where I was joining.

“Did I even ntion to you that I would be taking her along?” Prince Leonard snapped.

“No, you didn’t, but wasn’t that what you had in mind?” Prince Darius asked in return.

“It’s ti for you to leave, brother...” Prince Leonard said darkly.

It felt like a fight was about to break out if it hadn’t already. My tongue flicked over my lower lip as I started to feel even more anxious and confused than before. I hoped that Prince Darius would realize that if Prince Leonard was in a sour mood for the day, I would be the one suffering his wraith and not him.

“Alright. Enjoy your lessons, Mila,” Prince Darius turned to address brightly.

“Thank you...” I thanked him softly while pleading to him with my eyes for him to leave.

Finally, Prince Darius left the classroom with Prince Leonard holding open the door for him. I could feel the prince’s icy glare on his elder brother and that made shiver all over. As if waiting for the right opportunity, my dear friends quickly mumbled so parting words before quickly making their escape through the door. When the door closed behind them, I was left alone with a very ill-tempered Prince Leonard.

The prince turned to face and my body froze in place as my heart danced around wildly in my chest. I didn’t know what to say or how to explain to him about his brother’s sudden visit. Then there was that trip that Prince Darius brought up out of nowhere. My lips curved into a smile that I hoped would lead to a peace treaty of so sort between us. Prince Leonard narrowed his blue eyes at before he let out a long sigh.

...

“You two are Mila’s friends, right?” Prince Darius asked the two maids after following after them along the hallway so distance away from Mila’s classroom.

“Yes...” Jessie replied because Salena was too nervous to make a sound.

“So, you two were her gifts...” the prince said as if talking to himself.

“Excuse ?” Jessie asked because she couldn’t quite follow the prince’s words.

“Nothing. What are your nas again?” Darius asked as his eyes traveled from Jessie to the girl hiding behind her.

“My na is Jessie...” Jessie introduced herself while trying to sound polite.

“And you are?” Darius asked as his eyes moved to focus on the girl with pale blond hair and wide blue eyes.
