That was easy for him to say...
How am I supposed to concentrate when I’m sitting on his lap and he’s basically breathing behind my ear?
My entire body stiffened when he carried against his body and sat down in his seat again, this ti with on his lap. Behind held in his arms while sitting on his lap made very aware of our size difference. His arms pulled back closer against his body until I felt the heat of his body against my back. He left one arm around my waist to keep in place before his other hand reached out to pull the book closer to us on the table.
“You’re so small, you’re like a doll...” he comnted before he chuckled a little close to my ear.
Sotis it felt like he could tell what I was thinking although I knew that he couldn’t read my mind.
“Take a look at this map, Mila,” he said softly.
I was too aware of how close he was to and because of that I found it very hard to concentrate. I tried my best to focus on the map that he was showing .
“This is the map of this kingdom...” he told softly.
The light green island drawn on the map surrounded by the deep blue water of the ocean looked very prominent. There were words which I assud were nas of the various cities in the kingdom printed on the map as well. I had no idea that the place where I was is shaped like that.
“It’s so big...” I murmured.
“Not really, the scale of the map is just fooling you. We’re just a small island compared to other countries in this world. However, we have the riches to make up for what we lack in land mass,” the prince corrected with a small laugh.
“Oh...I see...” I mumbled as I suddenly started to feel shy.
I have heard sothing about this kingdom being extrely wealthy despite its size before and it got thinking of the reason why that was so. The cities that I’ve seen was very developed and the palace didn’t seem to lack any luxuries at all. Now that I really thought about it, I didn’t know why this kingdom is so rich.
“This is the capital city, and it is also where we are now,” the prince told as his beautiful index finger pointed to a star that denoted the capital city on the map.
The city that he showed must be the capital. I wondered what the other parts in this kingdom was like.
“Are the other cities showed on this map similar to the capital?” I asked.
“Hmm...so are very similar while others are quite different. Cities that focus on manufacturing clearly look very different from the capital where the business center is,” he explained.
I nodded as he continued to explain to more about so of the cities located in various parts of the country on the map. The way that the prince talked animatedly about his own kingdom brought a strange warm feeling to my heart. It wouldn’t be much of a stretch if I said that he seed quite proud of his kingdom and that he seed to be having quite a lot of fun talking about it. It didn’t take long for to focus more on the prince than what he was lecturing about. My eyes settled on his face as he continued telling more about his beloved country.
After a mont, I realized that the warmth that I felt blooming in my heart must have been because I felt the love that the prince felt for his kingdom.
Prince Leonard really loves his country...
“Mila, are you listening?”
To be completely honest, he lost for more than a mont there. The way his eyes looked at my blank face told that he knew just how guilty I was of losing my focus. I smiled a little as I tried my best to snap out of my own thoughts.
“Umm...Y-Yes...” I replied before offering him a weak smile.
“I know that history can be boring for you but there are things that you need to understand about the past to better understand why things are the way they are in the present and how it may impact the future. Do you understand?” he asked before shaking his head slowly at in dismay.
I truly thought that he seed a little like an overly strict teacher and I found that quite amusing. His arms tightening around my waist and pulling closer to him reminded that I was still sitting on his lap and in his arms. I could sll the sll of faint roses with every breath that I took as well as the warmth from his body pressed up against my back.
“Yes, Your Highness...” I replied softly.
“Call Leo. We’re alone right now,” he demanded close to my ear.
The way he whispered seductively into my ear made my heart skip a beat. His request reminded of the ti we spent together out on our date in the city. The prince had urged to call him by his nickna then too and it was so difficult for to get used to it.
“Umm...Leo...” I called his na after so hesitation.
“Good girl. Now, let tell you how this kingdom flourished into what it is today...” the prince said as he continued to hold .
His hand flipped the page of the book to a double page that showed a tiline marked with key dates and the description of their importance. As he began walking through the tiline, my heart began beating faster and faster in my chest. It must have been psychological because after calling his nickna, I felt even more aware of how close our bodies were and the heat that I felt against my back felt hotter. I wanted to climb off his lap, but his arms held too tightly for to do that.
