Despite Mada Sand telling that I needed to start my classes, the past few days had been fully unproductive. I haven’t been invited to attend any classes and spent my day just lazing around like my life had no aning.

The more free ti that I had, the more ti my mind had to wander. Only dark and lonely thoughts filled my mind as I woke up at sunrise just to spend the entire day thinking of the prince and waiting to hear from him. I watched the sunset from the balcony of my room alone at the end of the day without hearing any news of the prince. I didn’t even know where he was or what he was up to.

“I’m just stuck here...” I muttered to myself as I leaned on the tal railing of my balcony.

...

**Around the sa ti**

“Leo...” Darius called his brother’s na to get his attention.

Darius watched as Leonard laid back in his large armchair with his heels resting on his worktable. The official papers were scattered all over the table in disarray. Darius sucked in a deep breath and let out a sigh.

“Leo...” Darius called his brother again, this ti in a deeper voice.

“What do you want?” Leonard replied lazily.

“How can the future king’s desk be so ssy like this? Put your feet down...” Darius said sternly.

He walked towards the table before he started gathering the loose sheets of paper together and arranging them. Leonard showed absolutely no interest to what his elder brother was doing or what he had just said.

“That’s because I’m not the future king,” he replied flatly.

“Don’t you dare let father see you like this. Do you hear ?” Darius warned as he glared across the table at his brother.

Leonard stared back while making no attempt to lower his feet from the table. Despite how bored his younger brother looked, Darius could tell that he was in a much better mood than before. On top of that, the reports he had received from Leonard’s butler told him that the prince had been sleeping well.

“You seem like you’re in a better mood. Have you been sleeping well these past days?” Darius asked although he already knew the answer.

“Sort of...” Leonard replied without providing any more details.

“It’s a blessing to sleep well at night, isn’t it? You should thank for tidying up your desk. Many of these papers are for official business so you should never mix them up. Are you listening?” Darius said as he finished arranging the last pile of paper for his younger brother.

“Thank you...” Leonard said while still sounding disinterested.

Darius folded his arms over his chest as he grinned at his younger brother. It was good news for him that Leonard seed to be doing better and he was grateful for this change and everything that caused it.

“I take it that you had a good ti spending the night out of the palace. Maybe you should do it more often,” he said followed by a light laugh.

“Nothing escapes you, huh?” Leonard said with a grunt.

“I’m also a prince, more importantly, I am your brother,” Darius said before smiling proudly.

Darius dragged out a chair and sat down opposite his brother on the other side of the table. It had been a few days since he heard news of Leonard taking Mila out to the city. He could pretty much guess what happened there and the fact that Leonard no longer needed his sleeping pills and other dications was more than enough proof than he needed. Darius brows drew into a slight frown as he wondered why the two had not t again since that night.

“Is there a reason why you haven’t seen Mila since you returned from your date in the city?” Darius asked after he had made up his mind to get to the point.

“Is there a reason why I need to see her every day?” Leonard asked a little coldly.

“Let rephrase that. Don’t you want to see her?” Darius asked in wonder.

“I’m not the one who wants to see her,” Leonard replied before looking the other way.

“I have no idea what you an by that. It’s been a few days already, she’s going to think that it’s strange if you don’t show your face,” Darius pointed out.

“Maybe she’s enjoying her quiet and peaceful life. She’ll probably start her lessons soon too,” Leonard replied calmly.

“You have no idea how excited and hopeful father was when you asked to have her as your honorable maiden. Hopefully you don’t disappoint the old man,” Darius warned.

“I don’t want to hear that from soone who never chooses his own honorable maiden. Have you ever thought that it’s your fault that there are so many won stuffed into that place?” Leonard said accusingly.

“I do things my way,” Darius said as his eyes glared at his brother.

“Your rule of not sleeping with the sa won more than once is one hell of an inconvenience for everyone,” Leonard pointed out.

“I don’t like to get attached to anyone and I don’t need anyone getting attached to ,” Darius replied passively.

“Anyways, I don’t need you lecturing on this topic...” Leonard muttered darkly.

The two brothers were silent as they got absorbed in their own thoughts. It was Darius who let out a sigh and turned to face his younger brother first.

“Leo...” Darius called his brother’s na softly.

“Hmm?” Leonard made a questioning sound while still staring out of the window at the night view outside.

“Mila is young and inexperienced. If you’re not careful, you can cause her to misunderstand many things,” Darius warned his brother again.

“Tell sothing that I don’t already know,” Leonard mumbled while keeping his eyes on the view outside.

“Poor dear little Mila is probably all lonely right now and missing her prince charming...” Darius said before heaving a loud exaggerated sigh.

His theatrical performance finally caught his brother’s attention. Leonard turned back to face Darius with a look of pure disgust on his face.
