The mont he was done voicing his thoughts, his fingertip left my face completely. While I was still stunned and frozen in place, the prince got up from the sofa and stood up straight. He seed very relaxed as he stretched before turning back to look down at .

“Let’s go, Mila...” he said invitingly as he stretched out a hand my way.

“Go...where?” I asked with clear surprise.

One surprise just led to another, and I was struggling to keep up with him.

“Let’s go out...” he replied before he smiled cheerfully at .

The tension in the air evaporated in an instant and it felt like the hard conversation that we just had never happened in the first place.

“Out? As in, to the gardens?” I asked to make sure that I understood him correctly.

“No, out as in outside of the palace. You’ve never really seen the city, right?” he asked before he grinned at .

Was that allowed?

My mind only wondered about that for the briefest of monts before my excitent took over. I had only gotten a glimpse of the city outside of the palace just that once when I was riding in the car on my way to search for that rare flower up in the mountains. The city with its skyscrapers made my heart beat fast and it felt like another world out there. Suddenly, I realized that I was very curious, and I wanted to know more and see more of the city. I wanted to know what the prince’s country was really like beyond the walls of this palace.

“But...I’m not allowed to leave, right?” I raised my concern softly.

“Right...but sneaking out can be fun,” he said with a small laugh.

I was too stunned at the sudden shift in our conversation to disagree or argue with him. It was very hard for to believe that the first prince of the kingdom was proposing that we sneak out of the palace at night. I wasn’t sure if it was for the better or not, but sohow, the prince didn’t seem to follow through with what had been planned for us tonight.

My eyes were drawn to the open palm of his outstretched hand. Although he was the prince and he could easily force to comply with his wishes, Prince Leonard wasn’t doing anything like that. Instead, he was offering a choice through his invitation.

What will happen to if I choose to take his hand?

I could feel his eyes on as he waited for to make my decision. It may have been a stupid way to make my decision; however, before my brain could logically weigh the pros and cons, my instincts had already chosen for . My gaze shifted upwards to et his blue eyes before I slowly placed my hand into his much larger one.

“This is going to be so much fun...” the prince said it like a promise.

Back then, I didn’t know that there were so many hidden thoughts and aning behind his simple words.

Prince Leonard pulled up to my feet and it was clear that it was now our ti to leave this place. At the door, I realized that the usual shoes that I wore were missing. There was nothing fancy about the shoes because they were just part of my maid uniform; however, I had gotten used to wearing them. In their place, on the neatly arrange shoe racks were countless pairs of shoes.

They’re all high heels...

I hesitated for a brief mont before my hand just reached out to select the pair of shoes that were the closest in color to the dress that I had on. Not wanting to keep the prince waiting, I quickly slipped on the shoes and followed him out the door.

...

To my surprise, I found out that Prince Leonard had driven from his palace to the Sacred Chambers. The distance between the two places wasn’t so far apart but I guess the prince didn’t need to walk either. The prince’s black car was parked right in front of the building’s entrance.

“I guess I’m the only visitor tonight...” Prince Leonard said lazily.

“Are there usually others?” I asked.

“I’m not sure but I think Florian cos here quite often. Darius likes his won to be delivered to him, so I doubt that you’ll see him here...” Prince Leonard replied casually.

I wasn’t quite sure how to feel about learning a little about the other princes’ preferences regarding this topic. Not wanting to hear anymore, I decided to remain silent and hold off on comnting.

“Let’s go...” the prince said softly.

I felt like we were sneaking around like little kids hoping not to get caught by the adults. Thinking of the rules and how strict Mada Sand seed to be at managing this place, I suddenly felt scared of soone seeing us.

“Don’t worry. It’s fine for to take you anywhere at night as long as we’re inside the palace walls. Technically, what we’re doing right now is normal,” he told as if he could sense my anxiousness.

“I see...” I murmured.

The prince just smiled a little at before he opened the car door and gestured for to get in. His reassuring words helped relax a little and soon we were on our way. It never occurred to how large the palace actually was until now. I watched the scenery past by through the car window and it was a short drive before we arrived at one of the gates located at the palace’s outer walls.

“The real challenge is sneaking you out from the palace grounds...” Prince Leonard muttered in a low voice during our short drive.

“Huh?” I made a questioning sound as my eyes widened.

Suddenly, I felt like sothing illegal that had to be smuggled out and perhaps that wasn’t too far from the truth.

“The guards usually don’t check anything and don’t ask any questions unless...” the prince said before trailing off.

“Unless...what?” I asked with clear worry.

“It’s not likely, so never mind. No matter what happens, rember that I’m the only one who will do the talking,” he replied in a low murmur.
