Chapter 227: Whatever Lies Beyond (Ch.227)

With Torin in control again, empowered and emboldened by Askel’s consent, Zariah knew it would be futile to fight it.

’Torin... the last ti we put our mark on soone...’ Zariah reasoned with her wolf, trailing off at the awful mories of the wrong choices she had made with Caedmon Grey.

It was not that Zariah did not wish to mark Askel, it was only that she could still not shake off the terrors that haunted her from the past, even if she had just decided she would no longer live in the past.

Zariah had hoped she would have so ti to collect her feelings and figure out the way forward at least, but with Torin’s arrival, Zariah feared there would be no such consideration.

Unlike Zariah, Torin was primal and instinctual, despite what had happened in the past and Torin’s next words made that clear.

’Askel is not Caedmon, Zariah. He is not that monster...he is our mate, he deserves a chance, as do we. It is okay for us to live, Zariah...we still deserve to live.’ Torin told Zariah.

Zariah had no words to argue with Torin and so she simply fell silent.

It happened in a flash, Zariah could only watch helplessly as her canines, sharp and lethal broke through skin, sinking into Askel’s neck.

Askel’s blood pooled in Zariah’s mouth as Torin sunk their canines even deeper, releasing her toxin in Askel’s bloodstream,

Torin’s toxin fed the mate bond, forging an even greater bond that could not be easily undone.

Zariah felt it deep in her soul, it was like there was a hunger within her that had been starved for so long and was finally fed, all of her exhaustion flitted away and her senses were sharper than they had ever been.

Askel groaned quietly, first in pain but then in pleasure as Torin’s toxin in his bloodstream did its work, triggering hormones and bringing all his pent-up desire to light.

Torin then brushed her tongue over the puncture wound, intense, electrifying jolts spread through both of them at every point of contact, far more intense now than they had been a mont ago.

Zariah could feel the evidence of Askel’s desire pressed up against her thigh and it had been so since Torin had first backed him into the wall,

And Zariah had tried to ignore it, but it did not seem like Torin shared the sa hesitation.

As Torin pulled away, she stared into Askel’s hooded eyes, his mind was probably still hazy and intoxicated by her toxin and his lips were parted slightly, exhaling a heavy breath.

Torin tilted her head up, her lips eting Askel’s in a fiery and passionate kiss.

Askel’s hold on Zariah’s waist tightened, he drew Zariah’s form even closer to himself and returned the kiss with a passion that rivalled Torin’s.

And then Torin pulled away, keeping her gaze fixed on Askel’s, she slowly dropped to her knees, her hands reaching for the strings of Askel’s pants.

At this point, Zariah had given up on protesting, she could not if she tried, not when she felt their shared desire as heavily as any other did.

Askel groaned quietly as Torin freed his engorged desire, her tongue darted out, swirling around the tip of his hardened mber before she took him into her mouth.

Askel hissed lowly, his hand moved to rest on the back of Zariah’s head as Torin pleased him, working her lips and tongue to skillfully drive Askel closer to the edge.

Askel’s grunts of pleasure fuelled their own desire and when his grunts converted to a moan of her na and her wolf’s as he climaxed, Zariah swore she lost every will to hold onto any self control.

"Zari... Torin, damn!" Askel moaned out,

Whatever self control was, it could have been damned in that mont and Zariah would not care because that sound was the most beautiful thing Zariah had ever heard... accompanied with the taste of him on her tongue, Zariah was helpless.

And like the instigator and culprit that she was, it was in that mont Zariah’s wolf relinquished control to her, leaving Zariah to face the aftermath.

Zariah did not protest as Askel pulled her back up to her feet, a satisfied look in his eyes and a bright smile on his lips.

For a mont, they both stared at each other in silence, it was obvious to them both that it was now Zariah in control and Torin had retreated after putting the situation in motion.

Zariah had expected to feel awkward or at least so type of way, but she did not at all. Instead, if Zariah was being honest, she felt grateful, that this huge step she would have doubted taking constantly had been taken already and there was no going back.

After a short mont, Askel broke the silence first.

"I wondered... what your other half was like, and if she would want ..." Askel admitted in a low tone.

"Is it clear enough now?" Zariah asked Askel, her tone also low, barely above a whisper truly, but she knew Askel could hear her just fine.

"It is. Do you share the sa thoughts as her?" Askel asked hopefully.

Zariah was quiet for a mont before she spoke.

"We are of the sa mind, what do you think?" Zariah asked Askel.

"What I think...this is it..." Askel trailed off, pulling Zariah closer so her head was rested against his chest.

Zariah could hear Askel’s heartbeat, loud and clear and every beat told her the words he was going to say even before he said it.

"I love you, Zariah Torin Moonstone. And I have, from the first mont I caught your scent." Askel murmured in a low tone.

His heartbeat was uneven for a mont, attesting to his nerves.

"Now, I am fully yours... I cannot have anyone else and so you have to take responsibility for ." Askel said quietly.

Zariah’s heart shuddered within her but she nodded slowly.

"I love you, Askel Vance Niolen... and I will have you, if you will have ." Zariah murmured in response.

Askel breathed a sigh of relief, hugging Zariah tighter to himself.

"In this life and the next, or whatever lies beyond." Askel swore solemnly.
