Before Siheng could respond, Nanli quickly shook her head. "Forget it, better if you stay here. I’ll go get it. I’m afraid you won’t make it back in ti."
Siheng pressed her down gently, a bit helpless. "Trust . Watching you fly with the sword earlier, I’ve already learned seventy to eighty percent."
Nanli was surprised. "Really?"
With his refined and graceful deanor, he hardly looked like soone who could master such a wild skill.
"Really."
After reinforcing the formation, Siheng vanished with a swish.
Nanli watched his speed and rubbed her nose. "He really has learned seventy to eighty percent."
She couldn’t afford to stay idle either.
The cub was extrely weak, barely sustaining itself by absorbing the faint energy radiating from the Glassy Bottle.
Nanli took out the Heaven Star Brush and began drawing a talisman array.
It was her first ti crafting a formation for treating a Primordial Mythical Beast, so she had to pause repeatedly to think things through.
After so ti and effort, she finally completed it.
But it had consud a considerable number of spirit stones.
Nanli checked her reserves and realized that she had already used up most of the spirit stones she brought along—only a single bag remained.
She sighed softly.
Nowadays, everything required spirit stones. Without those few Spirit Mines supporting her, her days would be unbearable.
Not long after, Siheng returned.
Though his face was as handso as ever, his complexion wasn’t great. Clearly, overcoming his ntal barrier to fly at such speeds had taken its toll.
When he landed, his legs were slightly unsteady.
Nanli rushed to support him. "Are you okay? Can you still hold on?"
"I’m fine," Siheng replied with a slight shake of his head.
But the mont he spoke, he sat down on the ground without caring about how dirty it was.
After catching his breath for a while, he handed a Qiankun Bag to Nanli.
Nanli felt a pang of heartache for him. "You’ve worked hard."
Siheng waved his hand, unable to speak.
He needed a mont to recover.
Nanli opened the Qiankun Bag and took out the contents.
To her surprise, the Mushroom Reef was in excellent condition. Barely two cups of tea had passed since it left the water, and it still retained a significant amount of seabed spiritual energy.
Blinking in astonishnt, she said, "Siheng, you’re amazing. Your speed is as fast as mine now."
After all, the more spiritual energy the Mushroom Reef retained, the better its dicinal effects.
Siheng obviously knew this too, which was why he had rushed back with such determination.
His voice was slightly hoarse. "It was alright."
It wasn’t that he couldn’t fly that fast, but he simply wasn’t used to it.
Hearing his wife’s praise, so color returned to his face, and the corners of his lips curved into a faint smile. Suddenly, it all felt worth it.
Nanli didn’t waste any more ti. The sooner they healed the cub, the sooner they could leave.
The talisman array was already drawn.
She only needed to place the spiritual herbs inside and activate the array with a hand seal.
Layers of golden light spread out, enveloping the cub.
Sensing the influx of power, the cub stopped clinging to the Glassy Bottle. Instead, it lay comfortably on the ground, stretching its tiny limbs.
It even smacked its little mouth once.
Siheng chuckled. "This little thing sure knows how to enjoy itself."
Nanli said, "Given the ti constraints, I need to use the power of the Glassy Bottle to help repair its internal organs quickly. I’ll enter deep ditation. The rest is up to you."
Siheng nodded. "Got it."
Nanli sat cross-legged and ford a hand seal again, drawing a thread of power from the Glassy Bottle.
That thread of power, thin as silk, served as a guide, leading the energies of the talisman array and spiritual herbs into the cub’s body.
She closed her eyes, using her spiritual consciousness to examine the cub’s weak internal organs, carefully repairing them bit by bit.
It was a ticulous process.
Nanli’s brows remained furrowed, not daring to lose focus for even a second.
Siheng understood how difficult the task was. He even slowed his breathing, afraid of disturbing her.
But soon, a noise ca from outside their location.
Siheng’s expression tightened.
He stepped out of the formation and leapt into the air, hiding behind the thick foliage of a tall tree.
From afar, he saw the Primordial Mythical Beasts gradually approaching.
He dropped to the ground again, glancing at Nanli, who was still in deep ditation.
To his relief, the cub’s fur had grown several new strands in that short period, looking smoother and glossier—a sign that Nanli’s treatnt was working.
Clearly, she would need more ti.
And during that ti, no disturbances could be allowed. Any interruption could cause a backlash, and the cub might not survive.
Siheng added a silencing spell, then darted ahead to intercept.
His sudden ambush caught the Primordial Mythical Beasts off guard.
But Siheng hadn’t anticipated Gloomy Fox’s ferocity. Its massive tail swept across, blocking his sword strike.
Several nearby trees were crushed with sharp cracks, falling to the ground.
The surroundings imdiately opened up, becoming much brighter.
Enemies eting face-to-face were especially bitter.
The fire clouds beneath Gloomy Fox’s feet burned even more fiercely.
It glared at Siheng with burning anger. "Just a re Genuine Immortal Realm, and you dare to steal my son and my treasure?!"
"Mythical Beast No. 1" roared, "Bite him to death! Eat him!"
"Mythical Beast No. 2" growled, "Hand over the little babe, and we’ll leave your corpse intact!"
"Mythical Beast No. 3" suggested coldly, "This man is a bit tricky to handle. Let’s catch that woman first. Her cultivation is lower and easier to grab."
"..."
Even the youngest Primordial Mythical Beast was over a hundred thousand years old. Learning human language was no surprise.
Siheng narrowed his eyes, his aura turning dangerous. He said, "That Glassy Bottle was originally my wife’s possession. We didn’t steal it. As for your son..."
He deliberately paused.
Gloomy Fox’s eyes flashed with rage and fear. "You dare harm him?!"
"He’s extrely weak and doesn’t have many days left," Siheng stated plainly.
Gloomy Fox knew this but refused to accept it.
Fury erupted. "Return my son and my treasure! Or no matter where you flee, we’ll hunt you down and crush you!"
"Mythical Beast No. 4" added, "That’s right! We’ve always kept to ourselves in the North Wilderness, but you dared to provoke us! If you don’t return them, we’ll leave the North Wilderness and wreak havoc in your lands!"
Siheng raised an eyebrow and chuckled, his smile like a blooming flower that dimd the entire world.
He said, "Other people’s lives have nothing to do with . If you want your cub and your treasure, why not play a ga of chess with ? If you win, I’ll return them both."
Primordial Mythical Beasts were savage by nature, surviving by devouring spiritual energy. These beasts, empowered by the chaotic force, were even fiercer.
Knowing they wouldn’t believe Nanli was treating the cub, Siheng figured the best option was to stall.
Once Nanli finished, they could make a swift escape.
Gloomy Fox snorted. "You’re crazy. You expect us to play chess with four paws?!"
Chess? It had only heard of it but never seen it.
This man was either trying to fool it or simply buying ti.
Siheng smiled faintly. "You Primordial Mythical Beasts have lived longer than . Don’t tell you don’t even know how to play chess?"
Whether they did or not didn’t matter—he just needed to keep them occupied.
Gloomy Fox wasn’t embarrassed. "That’s right, we don’t know!"
Unlike Primordial Divine Beasts, they hadn’t cultivated human forms and had no need for reading or enlightennt.
