Qingwu cast a cold glance over the people behind Xin Chuan and sneered.
"You think I’m a fool, Xin Chuan?" he said. "If you’re seeking revenge, why bring so many warriors who haven’t even reached the Base Building stage? What, are you planning to massacre the Human World?"
Xin Chuan cursed his bad luck inwardly. He had only used the Spirit Boat because it provided a stable airflow for traveling, and now he had run into Qingwu. If he had known this would happen, he would have used more spiritual energy for protection and taken a more obscure route.
But he wasn’t about to admit the truth. Instead, he said, "Exactly. If we don’t show Mu Nation a little of our might, how will they know the power of Asura Palace?"
"Revenge is our motto—returning tenfold for every wrong done to us! It’s the tradition of Asura Palace!"
Qingwu almost believed him, but then sothing didn’t sit right. He didn’t waste any more words. He swung his sword, unleashing a vicious blow that displayed the full extent of his Great Achievent cultivation.
Xin Chuan was shocked and didn’t dare take it lightly. He quickly drew his round blade and engaged Qingwu in combat.
Xin Chuan was indeed a rare talent, but his cultivation technique was too sinister, which made him despised by those so-called righteous sects. In fact, he had created Asura Palace in the north a thousand years ago out of spite.
Qingwu sensed Xin Chuan’s formidable strength, but he didn’t expect him to already be at the Deity Forming late stage.
After just one exchange, their spiritual powers seed capable of splitting the heavens apart. The surrounding cultivators quickly stepped back, fearing they might be caught in the crossfire.
Sima Xin looked at the two, clearly stunned, muttering, "Xin Chuan is just over a thousand years old..."
Ji Chengyi, first envious and then jealous, thought, He’s at the Deity Forming stage, but after all the recent setbacks, my cultivation has been severely damaged!
The two broke apart after a brief exchange. Xin Chuan, clearly struggling, was covered in sweat, panting heavily. He quickly raised his hand to signal his people to calm down and then looked directly at Qingwu.
"Alright, I’ll tell you the truth," Xin Chuan said. "Gu Xuanfeng reported that Mu Nation in the Human World now has spiritual energy, which is why I’m leading Asura Palace to relocate there."
He only told half the truth. Clever, wasn’t he?
Qingwu sneered. "You think Nanli will allow you to settle in the Human World? Or... are you planning to strike a deal with Nanli? You want to occupy a piece of the pie, and in doing so, make enemies with us?"
Qingwu had suspected there was more to it. After all, rumors had spread that the spiritual energy in the Human World was now abundant, almost comparable to the Upper Realm.
He had already made enough wrong decisions; he could not afford to make any more enemies.
"Venerable Master, my cultivation isn’t a match for yours, how would I dare to oppose you?" Xin Chuan imdiately pledged loyalty. "I’m naturally planning to go to Mu Nation and make a bloodbath to claim a territory for Asura Palace!"
Qingwu’s frown deepened as he weighed Xin Chuan’s words.
However, the sly Xin Chuan added, "Since Lord Qingwu is willing to join forces with , I must repay this great favor."
"Here’s the deal," Qingwu said. "Lord Xin, bring along your warriors who haven’t reached Base Building yet. That’ll make things easier. As for your other Night Asura leaders, they stay here. I’ll teach you a few sword techniques."
Xin Chuan’s subordinates exchanged looks, their faces changing. Qingwu was clearly trying to use them as leverage.
Xin Chuan raised his hand to calm his subordinates. He stared intently at Qingwu.
"Venerable Master, can this matter not be discussed further?"
"If Lord Xin plans to beco enemies with Nanli, then you can use the lives of the Human World’s citizens to exchange for your subordinates," Qingwu said coldly. "Either Lord Xin leaves and never returns, abandoning them... or you don’t cross that line."
But Xin Chuan knew if he turned his back on Qingwu now, Qingwu would launch a massacre. If they weren’t allies, Qingwu would not hesitate to make them enemies.
Xin Chuan smiled bitterly, gripping his round blade. "Qingwu, don’t push your luck."
"I am the Supre of the Immortal World, and I do what I please," Qingwu retorted, raising an eyebrow, full of arrogance.
Xin Chuan was itching for a full-blown fight, but the situation didn’t allow him to act recklessly. Qingwu alone was already hard enough to deal with, and behind him stood Sima Xin and Ji Chengyi.
"We’ll stay here!" one of the hall masters declared.
"Right, we can’t leave this grudge unresolved!" another added.
"We need a new base of operations!" The main concern was seizing the Spirit Mine.
"..."
One by one, the Night Asura warriors spoke up, their expressions firm.
In this situation, they could not afford to hold Asura Palace back. Securing the Spirit Mine was their top priority!
Xin Chuan understood his subordinates’ loyalty, but as the Palace Master, how could he abandon them? They had followed him through life and death—he couldn’t leave them behind to beco hostages.
Once he left them behind, Qingwu would never let them go. Xin Chuan had seen through Qingwu’s sches.
As expected, Qingwu was thinking exactly that. If Xin Chuan ca back to negotiate, Qingwu would find a way to force him into further service. If Xin Chuan never returned, Qingwu would kill all the subordinates, severely weakening Asura Palace’s power.
"Venerable Master, since my subordinates have spoken, you must take good care of them," Xin Chuan said, bowing with slightly altered hand gestures.
His subtle signal was imdiately understood by the hall masters and Night Asura.
The hall master was about to make his move—they would fight their way out!
As long as they crossed the boundary line, no one from Jialan Celestial Mountain or Penglai Island would be able to stop them.
Once they escaped Qingwu’s control, everything would fall into place. After all, the Seven Peaks Sect was no great threat.
"Good," Qingwu said, stepping aside. "Lord Xin, please proceed."
"Thank you."
As soon as Xin Chuan finished speaking, he lunged forward and attacked Qingwu.
The other Hall Masters either assisted Xin Chuan, targeted Sima Xin and Ji Chengyi, or dealt with other cultivators.
One hall master also threw a handful of spirit stones onto the Spirit Boat, urging it to launch: "Hold on tight!"
Other cultivators attempted to block their way, but the Night Asura warriors quickly moved to clear the path for the unford cultivators.
The entire Asura Palace acted with precision and coordination.
With Xin Chuan leading the way, the Spirit Boat successfully crossed the boundary.
Qingwu, enraged, swung his sword and killed two hall masters.
"Xin Chuan!" He was seething with fury. "You’re asking for death!"
One hall master blocked Qingwu’s rage, pushing Xin Chuan forward.
"Master, go quickly!"
Only when their Palace Master entered the Human World could Asura Palace truly grow stronger, dominating the Nine States!
Qingwu’s anger reached its peak. He killed without hesitation, seeing these people as nothing more than ants.
