When his father was alive, he had never paid tribute to the Upper Realm.
Today, he would right the wrongs!
Nanli chuckled lightly, "Alright, your enemies, I’ll leave them for you to deal with."
She drew out a Teleportation Talisman and grabbed his sleeve, reminding him, "Steady yourself when we land."
Yuan Zhenhai felt a flash before his eyes.
It was his first ti being grabbed and teleported with a Talisman. Even with the warning, he stumbled a little when they landed.
His gaze sharpened.
They had arrived at the new room!
Yuan Zhenxian was just coming down from the bed.
Reeking of alcohol and full of anger, he was furious. After all, he had prepared everything, only to find the woman in his bed was a scarecrow!
Seeing Nanli and Yuan Zhenhai suddenly appear, his rage intensified. "Brother, is this your doing? Are you rebelling against ?!"
So, it was true then!
Yuan Zhenhai had already witnessed Nanli’s strength and had managed to calm his surprise.
He fixed his gaze on Yuan Zhenxian and asked, "Brother, I won’t hold you accountable for tampering with the pills on Penglai Island. But now, let ask you: is the Water-Suppressing Pearl still here?"
Yuan Zhenxian was used to lying with his eyes open. He snorted, "What nonsense are you talking? You’re my brother; how could I let anyone tamper with the pills? And the Water-Suppressing Pearl is a treasure of Seaside City; why would I easily give it away?"
He looked to be over sixty, his hair graying.
However, as a Golden Core cultivator, he could still stand tall and strong.
He calmly tied his pants and adjusted his outer robe.
He walked toward the door.
"You’ve been misled by others, barging into my bedroom to interrogate . This is an insult," Yuan Zhenxian spoke slowly. "But since you’re my brother, I won’t hold it against you." He then added, "The Water-Suppressing Pearl is locked in the treasury. Follow ."
Yuan Zhenhai’s expression remained unchanged, his voice cold as he said, "You really gave it to Penglai Island, didn’t you?"
He knew Yuan Zhenxian’s habits. Sothing so important would definitely be in his Qiankun Bag, carried on his person.
Yuan Zhenxian’s expression changed. "So, you know everything!"
But he didn’t act on it. Instead, he suddenly stepped back, shattered the carved wooden door, and flew out.
Outside the courtyard, all his subordinates were waiting.
He glared at the two of them, his voice icy, "Brother, you’re having an affair with my new wife? How could you betray like this?"
He then raised his hand and issued an order, "Kill the n, capture the won alive!"
At that mont, Yuan Zhenhai had held on to a slim hope for Yuan Zhenxian.
But seeing how he wanted to end his life the mont his betrayal was exposed, Yuan Zhenhai’s heart sank.
"From this mont on, you are no longer my brother!" His fists clenched tightly.
"Tsk tsk." Yuan Zhenxian laughed arrogantly. "I never considered you my brother. I had the chance to kill you earlier, but Father always said you were talented. I wanted to see you beco a sickly weakling, unable to use spiritual power, and reduced to nothing but dust!"
That would make him far more pleased than breaking through to Golden Core!
Yuan Zhenhai’s hands tightened even more, his nails digging into his flesh, the pain numb in the face of his fury.
He spat, "Then I’ll spare you no rcy! Nanli, go and kill him!"
Nanli’s lips twitched slightly.
She looked sideways at Yuan Zhenhai and said, "What do you take for? Didn’t I say, your enemies are for you to deal with?"
Seeing that Yuan Zhenhai was not panicked at all, he seed to have a backup plan.
His gaze was clear, "I haven’t been able to cultivate for a long ti, I’m no match for him now. Since we are allies, it would make sense for you to act, right?"
Nanli rolled her eyes, "You’re pushing all your troubles onto ."
"Only polite." Yuan Zhenhai took a few steps back. "Nanli, I don’t think they’re your match."
After he gave two hints, Yuan Zhenxian finally recognized who Nanli was.
"You are Nanli?!" Yuan Zhenxian widened his eyes, staring at her face, before letting out a laugh. "Brother, you’re so considerate, giving such a great gift!"
He imdiately pulled out two Talismans, sealing the entire courtyard, and then ordered his subordinates to draw out their weapons and form a formation.
"You know what the wanted notice says, right? Alive, 50,000 middle-grade spirit stones. Dead, 30,000."
"Understood!" His subordinates imdiately assud their positions, their weapons ready.
The moonlight was dim.
It slanted into the room, casting a cool light directly on Nanli.
Though the face wasn’t hers, her expression and eyes were cold and indifferent.
"I’ve accumulated enough rits, and I don’t enjoy killing," she said softly, her lips slightly parted. "Surrender, and I’ll spare your lives."
Yuan Zhenxian burst into crazy laughter three tis. "You’re alone, with a baggage of trouble, and you think we’ll surrender? In your dreams!"
"Alright then. I won’t show rcy." Nanli said, drawing out her Dark Moon Sword.
When the Peachwood Sword appeared, Yuan Zhenxian and his subordinates were taken aback for a mont, and then burst into loud laughter.
A Peachwood Sword?
She thinks holding a Peachwood Sword will make us surrender?!
What’s wrong with the Upper Realm sects? How could they put such a high price on this woman with such poor judgnt?
Even Yuan Zhenhai showed concern. "Nanli, why are you using a Peachwood Sword? Don’t you have any other talismans? Let’s just run."
Nanli shot him a glance. "If you’re not going to take action, don’t complain."
He clearly had regained much of his spiritual energy but was refusing to act, obviously wanting to test her strength.
After all, it wouldn’t be enough to face the Upper Realm sects with just a bit of ability.
Yuan Zhenhai obediently closed his mouth.
Nanli stepped forward.
Her clothes were already light and easy to move in, making them perfect for combat.
The Dark Moon Sword, which had been tempered through thunder tribulations with her, was now very different from before, its aura faintly surrounding her.
Yuan Zhenxian narrowed his eyes. Seeing her so composed, he suddenly recalled the wanted notice. She had tead up with Qiao Nanyi to kill Valley Lord Yang, and even injured Shanhai.
Imdiately, he beca cautious.
"Capture her!" he ordered.
His subordinates, along with him, launched an attack from all sides!
Nanli drew a Body-Freezing Talisman, activating it. Golden light erupted, freezing everything that ca into contact, whether on the ground or in the air.
Nanli, with her spiritual energy, moved faster.
She swooped through, landing again, and each subordinate that remained was either stabbed in the throat or pierced through the heart.
The wind picked up.
Her clothes fluttered, but her Dark Moon Sword remained spotless, not a trace of blood on it.
Her subordinates fell one by one.
Only then did she turn to face Yuan Zhenxian.
"It seems that my Body-Freezing Talisman isn’t very effective against Golden Core cultivators," she remarked lightly.
But that was in the past. She had now regained her spiritual energy, and the new talismans she would draw could certainly hold Yuan Zhenxian in place.
He had used a furnace cauldron to break through to Golden Core, so his abilities weren’t based on true cultivation.
Yuan Zhenxian’s heart raced. He touched his neck, where a small trickle of blood had appeared.
If he hadn’t dodged just in ti, he might have already been dead at her hands.
Taking a few deep breaths, he didn’t hesitate. He imdiately summoned a flying sword, intending to escape.
