Qi Hong waited for her to continue, but Yan Luo wasn’t pleased. She demanded, "Why aren’t you kneeling?"
"Kneel to you? Are you a deity or a true immortal?" Qi Hong replied, adding, "Next ti you speak, think it through first."
Though his tone was bold, Qi Hong wasn’t blind. He gauged that Yan Luo had likely only just started her cultivation journey. If Ye Siheng were here, he could have killed her in an instant.
"Arrogant fool!" Yan Luo had wanted to show off her strength, attempting a move from the Lingfeng Sword Technique, but quickly realized she hadn’t yet mastered it. If she just used a sword like a regular mortal, she would lose the power she wished to display. After so consideration, she stopped her approach.
Qi Hong had been preparing to face her, but her sudden hesitation puzzled him, leaving him unsure of her intentions.
"You wish to reunite with your brother and bring him back to Qi Nation. I can help with that," Yan Luo continued.
Qi Hong narrowed his eyes, quickly understanding her motive. The last ti soone from the Immortal World visited him, they had given him the Void Mirror, intending to use him to deal with Nanli.
He chuckled softly, "So, you want to use against Chu Nanli again? Why don’t you tell why the Immortal World is so fixated on her? Even if she has great talent, as long as the Immortal Sect remains closed, she poses no threat to you."
Yan Luo’s gaze turned sharp. "You only need to do your part. Don’t ask questions that don’t concern you!"
Qi Hong, taking his ti, sat down. Ignoring her, he lit a fire, preparing tea with a relaxed deanor. "You’ve co to the wrong person. A’Yuan acknowledges , and the Chu family accepts . I have no reason to help you harm Chu Nanli."
Yan Luo was taken aback by Qi Hong’s refusal, but she figured her offer wasn’t enticing enough. She paced behind the curtain, her scent lingering in the air.
"You’re really content with being controlled by Chu Nanli, sealing away your cultivation? And after all your sacrifices, you’ll only be allowed to see your brother for one month each year."
Qi Hong’s hand paused briefly, but he quickly regained composure, replying calmly, "This is already good enough. Whatever A’Yuan dislikes, I won’t do."
"Even if it ans losing the power to protect your brother?" Yan Luo almost burst out from behind the curtain in frustration. "Qi Hong, if you help , I can help you. Once your brother’s mory is erased, he will be like a blank slate, only recognizing you. The Chu family will no longer influence him, and he will stay with you forever. Isn’t that what you want?"
Qi Hong stared at the flickering flas, his heart wavering. He lifted his head toward the silhouette of Yan Luo, her figure blurred, his voice growing cold, "You can erase mories?"
"I... no, but my father and two brothers can," Yan Luo admitted, her voice faltering under his piercing gaze.
Qi Hong laughed mockingly, "Then you should have sent soone in charge to negotiate with from the start."
Yan Luo, annoyed, retorted, "I am more than capable! Qi Hong, if you refuse, I’ll kill you and your precious brother will follow you to the grave!"
Qi Hong wasn’t surprised. From the mont she sought him out, his fate had been sealed. She feared he might expose her plans. If he didn’t comply, she would silence him.
At the sa ti, the thought of erasing A’Yuan’s mory, making him recognize only himself, was tempting. As the emperor of Qi Nation, he disliked being under anyone’s control.
"What do I need to do?" he quickly decided.
Yan Luo’s eyes lit up, thinking her father had been right--Qi Hong was easily manipulated due to his nature. She handed him a stalk of Pogranate Grass.
Qi Hong frowned slightly, "What is this?"
"Pogranate Grass," Yan Luo explained its properties and how to use it. "Make Chu Nanli consu it, and your wish will soon co true."
Qi Hong was baffled. "So, you’re here to ensure offspring?" He couldn’t understand her logic.
Yan Luo wasn’t about to reveal too much, replying only, "You needn’t ask questions. Once she conceives, I will help you achieve your goal."
Qi Hong’s gaze darkened, and after a mont, he nodded. "Fine."
Satisfied with his agreent, Yan Luo flicked her sleeve and left. Her presence gradually faded from the room.
Qi Hong eyed the Pogranate Grass with a cold sneer. "Foolish woman, even more foolish father. Chu Nanli and I are already enemies, always on guard against each other. When would I have the chance to drug her?"
Still, the immortal herb would prove useful, so after a brief hesitation, he made his way to the Chilling Garden.
Nanli, having just negotiated terms with him, was surprised to see him return so soon. She signaled Rainbow to serve him tea.
"No need," Qi Hong said, waving it off. Nanli didn’t bother looking up. "What now? Another round of negotiations?"
Qi Hong raised an eyebrow. "Yes and no. An Immortal World woman visited earlier, asking for a favor."
Nanli imdiately stopped drawing her talismans and looked up, her tone urgent. "What did she want from you?"
Qi Hong sat down casually. "I’m thirsty."
Nanli, grinding her teeth in frustration, finally asked Rainbow to bring him tea. When she returned, she said, "Now, tell ."
"Get A’Yuan here as well," Qi Hong added another request.
Nanli rolled her eyes. As expected, this man was obsessed with his brother. She sent Chunbao to fetch him and, knowing the situation involved the Immortal World, used a Whisper Talisman to summon Ye Siheng as well.
Once everyone arrived, Qi Hong took out the Pogranate Grass and explained the Immortal World woman’s proposal. He emphasized how tempting her offer had been, but made sure to stress his love for his brother and loyalty to the Chu family, pretending that he had only pretended to agree.
His eyes were fixed on Chu Yan, desperate for his brother to believe him.
Chu Yan looked at the Pogranate Grass, his expression skeptical. "This is strange. It’s not poisonous, but it can make soone pregnant? What exactly is her goal?"
Though he didn’t fully trust Qi Hong, he was more perplexed by the Immortal World woman’s intent.
Sensing his brother’s doubt, Qi Hong grew anxious. "She didn’t explain. I don’t know her full plan either."
Nanli, unfamiliar with most Immortal World herbs, studied the Pogranate Grass for a while. "It doesn’t seem to be toxic. Could the Immortal World believe that if I were to conceive, my powers would weaken, making it easier for them to defeat ?"
