Deadly silence prevailed inside the dining room.
No one talked, and no one breathed as if waiting for Florence to make a decision.
Florence: "Mormon Tell about the treasure that this kid wants.
Mormon: "Your Highness, I already checked; it is a class 7th spatial treasure, extrely rare, and could cost the sa price as multiple 9th class treasures.
Florence's eyes narrowed down as he gave Alan a deep look.
Florence: "You really know how to choose. I'm extrely curious. Why do you need a spatial treasure? Are you…?"
With his hands on Alan's neck He looked at his new toy with a newfound curiosity.
Mormon: "Your Highness, we do have the treasure inside the vault."
Florence: "Kid, you're asking for a very valuable treasure, so you would have to pay sothing of equal value; our bet needs to be fair for all parties. That ans I would not give you sothing impossible, but you have to provide sothing of equal value to the price I'm giving.
That's why I decided to make it a survival bet. You see, I have a very nice place that is called the theater. Inside, you will have to face every single beast coming at you. To make it fair, you only have to survive for 24 hours. You are allowed to use one mana-infused potion every hour, and you are given the choice of one weapon.
So tell , kid, do you think you can stay alive for 24 hours?
Alan: "As long as I am fighting soone who is in the sa stage, then fighting for 24 hours is possible. I take it that you will prepare the treasure, so let's not waste any ti. My schedule is backed."
Florence: "Hahahahahahahahaha, kid, you are f****** crazy, aren't you? I can't wait to see you so ssed up, crying for to spare your life."
Alan: "You can keep on dreaming."
Florence: "Prepare the theater; we will head there imdiately."
Mormon: "Yes, sir."
...….
10 minutes later, everyone was inside a huge empty room. The only thing that stands out is the glass of the viewing chamber high above the ground with a perfect view of everything inside the room.
Florence: "Everything has been prepared. I will be right up there in the viewing room, watching you get killed miserably. Try to last longer and don't ruin my enjoynt, will you?"
Florence and his bodyguards went to the viewing glass room.
Standing in the middle of the huge room alone, Alan took a deep breath as he circulated the Ena inside him, warming up his body.
Florence: "Choose your weapon from the cabin, kid."
Alan: "My hands are my weapon. I haven't had the plentiful resources to find a weapon art like your highness. What a nice environnt you have been raised in."
With a sarcastic smile on his face, he talked back to Florence.
Florence: "You do know that your mouth will get you killed one day."
Alan: "Everyone and everything dies; when the mont cos, I will greet it with a smile."
From the viewing room, Florence talked to Alan, taking a deep look at this crazy kid. He had a twisted smile on his face as he said to his guards.
Florence: "Send the first beast in."
Mormon: "Will do, your Highness."
...….
The huge door opened at the other end of the room right in front of Alan's eyes. A third-stage beast walked slowly into the room, looking its eyes at Alan, deciding that he would be its next prey.
Both Alan and the beast stood there looking at each other as if asuring one another.
The beast was the first to lose his patience, as he howled at Alan, attacking him head-on.
Standing there relaxed, as if he's not about to fight for his life, waiting for the beast to co.
In a swift move, he evaded the incoming attack, imdiately launching a counterattack targeting the beast's throat. His movents were fluid; his eyes were hollowed, as if every breath he took was calculated to achieve one purpose: delivering a killing blow to the beast's throat.
Less than 15 seconds passed when the beast fell to the ground.
Inside the observation room, Florence and his bodyguards watched this display of pure carnage.
His face cracked as he looked deeply at the kid who killed the beast in one move.
Florence: "My instinct was spot on; this kid is a disaster, my favorite type."
Mormon and other guards could not believe their eyes as they saw a 16-year-old kid killing like an assassin; cold sweat covered their backs; they had read his background check. He was from an ordinary family; how in the hell did he develop such a pure killing instinct?
Just as Alan looked at the dead beast, the huge door at the end of the other room opened again, and three more beasts ca in.
To last 24 hours, endurance is the most vital aspect of this bet, so if he kept killing and increasing the enemies that he had to fight, it will serve a disadvantage to him.
Then again, he has been stripped from his terminal, so he can't tell ti and can only asure with his senses.
Imdiately evading the attack of the three incoming beasts, he decided to prolong the fight to consu as much ti as possible; this was his only way to survive.
...
Florence: "Smart kid. He knows his only way to survival, but I am not so nice, am I?"
20 minutes passed, and Alan only killed one of the beasts, prolonging the fight as much as he could.
Suddenly the damn door opened again, and six more beasts at the third stage joined the fight.
The expression on Alan's face tightened as he cursed Florence for being so sadistic.
He went on the offensive, attacking every single beast in his way.
Less than 3 minutes later, all the beasts died by his hands, taking a deep breath. He analyzed his situation.
Alan: "Even if I didn't kill the beasts and chose to prolong the fight, more of them will co, probably at a fixed interval. Judging by the previous fight, every 20 minutes more beasts will co. The f***** really know how to spice things up."
Watching the door opening again, 12 more beasts ca in. He decided to end every fight at 20 minutes, but he realized that he would be in deep trouble if every 20 minutes the beasts doubled; he would be overwheld before the 24 hours ended.
Gracefully using his movent art to evade every little attack of the coming beasts, killing one every 2 minutes, as if he was a programd slaughtering machine.
....
Florence: "What do you think, Mormon?"
Mormon: "Your Highness, this kid only displayed two arts, one movent art and another attacking one. They are the basics of the basics, yet he refined them to a terrifying degree. This is sothing a 16-year-old can never dream of doing. Even those from the sacred clans and the federation elites don't have such a horrifying talent."
Florence: "Indeed he is a diamond in the rough; I hope he entertains more."
With a maniac smile on his face He agreed with the Mormon evaluation.
...…
His earlier hypothesis had proven to be true. The interval for more beasts to co is 20 minutes, but if he killed every single beast, a new wave would co imdiately after.
So he decided to pace himself, using every second of the 20 minutes to fight and finish every wave of beasts coming at him.
2 hours had passed, and right now he was doing his best to avoid so many attacks coming from over 150 beasts at the third stage altogether.
Like a precise machine, every single movent of his was executed to kill a single target with the least amount of energy spent.
Although the number was huge, there was no coordination, and their individual strength was much weaker than his, so those numbers did not scare Alan.
....
Right now the huge room was packed as more than 6 hours had passed with over a thousand beasts fighting a battle royal to kill Alan.
After 6 hours of fighting, his Ena was almost depleted, so he had no choice but to use two of the 24 potions given to him at the start of the challenge.
With over a thousand beasts, he did not have the confidence to kill them all in under 20 minutes.
His brain was overworking itself to find the most optimal course of action.
Evading three attacks coming right at him, he took a deep breath and instantly discarded any thinking process.
As if he had fallen into a trance, he launched himself at the thousand-plus beasts, moving like a ghost, with every place he passed by, tens of beast corpses collapsing every second.
Like an ashura, a devil incarnate He slaughtered everything in his path. Every single fist and every single move of his were ant to take a life.
With 1 minute left before the interval ca again, he killed the last beast, imdiately taking a potion to replenish his exhausted Ena.
...
Mormon: "Your Highness, only six hours have passed; we have prepared a thousand beasts at the third stage to co all at once in the last hour of this bet. What do you think we should do now?"
Florence was in a daze. His eyes shined with the terrifying light as he answered.
Florence: "Start using the 4th stage beast to duplicate the scenario that was used on the 3rd stage beasts, since my new toy is so durable it makes want to break it even more."
...…
Just as Alan was taking a breath, the door opened again.
But this ti only one beast ca in, and when Alan felt the energy fluctuations on this beast, his expression changed as he looked at the viewing room.
The maniac really wanted to kill him. He wouldn't do the sa with 4th stage beasts.
