After the girl departed, Alex remained seated on the leather sofa, his gaze distant and unfocused. There was no joy on his face; instead, he grew increasingly sullen.
"Is that girl... special?" Mira pulled him into her lap, resting his head on her voluptuous thighs. Her pale, slender fingers gently stroked his brows, as if to smooth away the conflict in his heart.
Lying in her lap, Alex’s tightly furrowed brows slowly relaxed under the夫人’s touch. "Why do you say that?"
