Exposed already?
Nina's heart tightened, but there was nothing she could do.
After all, this True Ancestor had once entered the monastery. Though she hadn't t Nina in person, she could likely connect her to the homunculus and must have investigated the monastery afterward.
The monastery's official na was "Adelard Monastery," so it was only natural to associate it with her na.
Not to boast, but she was quite famous in history!
"I heard that back then, you joined forces with other alchemists to seal the 'Sage'... But judging by your current liquid tal body, you must have taken the Sage's body for yourself, right?"
In just a few words, Giada laid out the truth.
"As expected of the Imperial Princess, your knowledge is vast."
Left with no choice, Nina had no option but to co clean.
Her body writhed, and the form of the exotic golden-haired beauty appeared before Giada.
Two hundred and seventy years ago, in pursuit of the ultimate secret of alchemy—creating an immortal, perfect life—she and a group of like-minded individuals created the "Sage."
The Sage's essence was that of a liquid tal lifeform, capable of gathering tal to form a body, possessing an immortal life and imnse magical power rivaling that of a True Ancestor.
But the Sage lacked a proper heart.
Born as a perfect lifeform, the Sage feared other lives achieving perfection. It couldn't tolerate others standing on equal footing with it, so it wreaked havoc, seeking to eradicate all life on earth.
Left with no alternative, Nina had no choice but to seal it away.
She extracted its consciousness core, ensuring it would never see the light of day again, and sealed its body so no one could ever touch it.
To prevent the Sage's resurrection, Nina kept the Sage's body—the Sage's Spiritual Blood—with her at all tis. She lived for over 270 years and, when the Demon Sanctuary was established over a decade ago, settled there and founded the Adelard Monastery.
Until four years ago, when an incident occurred at the monastery.
It was a man-made disaster—a fire that nearly burned the monastery to the ground.
As a result, Nina lost her human body and, with no other option, transferred her soul into the Sage's Spiritual Blood, usurping it and becoming a liquid tal lifeform.
Of the children taken in by the monastery, apart from Eiji and Kanon Kanase, all perished in the fire—not a single one survived.
Because the incident four years ago was related to the Narcissus Event, all relevant records were deleted by the Artificial Island Managent Corporation. The remaining data was classified as top-secret and stored in the five supercomputers managing the artificial island.
It was also around that ti that Nina beca Eiji's servant.
"How is my master?"
Nina watched Giada warily, cold sweat slowly trickling down her forehead.
Even though she possessed True Ancestor-level magical power and could replenish her body with tal at will, the power of a True Ancestor was truly unfathomable. Facing a genuine True Ancestor, she couldn't help but tremble with fear.
At the sa ti, what terrified her even more was that their original plan was for her master to hold off Giada. But now Giada had appeared, yet her master was nowhere to be seen, sending her mind into turmoil.
Could her master have been hard?
I never should have agreed to Master's proposal earlier—I should have been the one to hold off the True Ancestor!
"Master?"
Vatler pondered for a mont, not answering her question, but instead clapped her hands and laughed.
"For a grand alchemist like you to call soone Master, that armored figure must be him, after all?"
Nina's expression tightened, remaining silent and offering no reply.
"It doesn't matter if you don't answer. I haven't done anything to him—just sealed him away for now. I'll deal with him later."
Though she said nothing, Vatler wore a satisfied smile.
Her deanor only confird Vatler's suspicions.
"Hand over the vessels. Out of respect for Narcissus, I'll spare your life."
Vatler's gaze shifted to the three tallic cocoons, her expression growing increasingly nacing.
The so-called "immortality" of the Sage was only possible under the condition of endlessly replenishing their body with tal.
But to a True Ancestor, who wielded even more unfathomable power, such a trait was aningless.
In the presence of a True Ancestor, the concept of an immortal, perfect life was nothing but a joke!
Nina grew tense instantly.
"If I were to say that the condition for returning the vessels is my Master's release, what would Her Highness the Imperial Princess think?"
Suppressing the turmoil in her heart, she forced a strained smile.
"Do you think I'm giving you face?"
Erald eyes instantly turned crimson, and pristine fangs protruded from her mouth.
Vatler's expression twisted into a snarl.
"I already told you—I'm sparing you out of respect for Narcissus. How dare you make demands in return? I promised Vatler I would protect these three vessels. If I let you take them, wouldn't that disgrace ?"
No matter how gentle she might seem, she was still a True Ancestor!
Standing at the pinnacle of the world, the apex of countless demon clans, one of only three supre beings in the entire world!
In their hearts, there was always an inviolable line!
"Then there's no need to return them!"
A resounding voice ca from outside.
Silently, the armored figure had already appeared before the two of them.
"Master!"
Nina's strained expression instantly transford into one of sheer delight.
Master was safe!
Nothing could make her happier than this!
"You broke free from my dinsional seal on your own?"
Vatler's face shifted, her eyes filled with astonishnt.
Her gaze fell upon the blade in Eiji's hand, suspicion clouding her features.
"Could it be a blade capable of severing space?"
"No, unfortunately, my magical energy was already depleted."
Eiji stepped forward, quietly positioning himself between Nina and Vatler.
"I shattered your spatial seal with pure swordsmanship!"
Are you joking?
Vatler's face was etched with disbelief, utterly unconvinced.
Who are you trying to fool?
How could pure swordsmanship possibly shatter a spatial seal?
"Go now."
Eiji whispered urgently to Nina behind him.
"Yes!"
Nina's legs weakened slightly.
Alchemy activated abruptly—the steel plate beneath her feet vanished without a trace. Repeating the technique, she swiftly descended into the sea, taking the three tallic cocoons with her.
Before plunging into the water, she tossed out an object.
Eiji caught it—a blank tablet.
It contained Nina's stored magical energy. Though hastily crafted, it wasn't completely useless—it held at least five tis Eiji's usual reserves.
"Don't even think about it!"
Vatler's expression turned icy.
How would she explain to that junior Vatler after having the vessel snatched right in front of her?
She imdiately raised her wrist, unleashing imnse magical energy from her body. She no longer cared about the cruise ship—she was determined to retrieve the vessel at all costs!
"You dare chase my subordinate in my face? Who gave you the nerve?"
But suddenly, a blade light shot toward her from the side.
"Taste my King's Ultimate Slash!"
