Northern District, Demon Sanctuary Island.
This area was densely packed with various universities and research institutes, making it an island with a strong academic atmosphere.
Compared to the more residential Western and Southern Districts, this place had a more futuristic feel, with floating holograms, driverless cars, and chanical soldier security guards active everywhere.
Viewed from above, the entire Northern District appeared as flat as a prairie, with only a few airports, buildings, and extensive road networks scattered across it.
However, unlike the upward-developing Southern District, the Northern District expanded underground.
It was said to reach over forty floors deep, extending more than two hundred ters below sea level!
"Boom!"
Gray clouds lood in the night sky.
Flashes of lightning occasionally flickered within them, and each clap of thunder startled everyone.
"That's strange, I didn't hear there would be thunderstorms tonight?"
Researchers living in the Northern District hurried back to their dormitories, frustrated as they checked the weather forecast on their phones.
Given the technological level of Demon Sanctuary Island, weather forecasts were extrely accurate, even down to the second, and generally never made mistakes.
When sothing unreasonable occurred, it was definitely an abnormal situation!
It was man-made!
Once they realized this, the researchers scrambled to take shelter in various insulated structures.
In the sky.
Several ard helicopters flew over from the Central Island.
The Special Zone Security Force had also been alard by the astonishingly large thunderclouds.
Not just the Security Force—the massive magical fluctuations emanating from the thunderclouds had already alerted the entire Demon Sanctuary Island, with nurous comrcial facilities issuing alarms!
The entire island was in a state of panic!
"Honestly, I don't want to engage that thing! If it retaliates, people will definitely die!"
"Let's wait for orders from above... I don't want to risk my life either."
Security Force mbers on the ard helicopters communicated in trembling voices over their private channels.
"Boom—!!"
Suddenly.
A golden bolt of lightning, thicker than a bucket, descended from the sky!
In the split second before anyone could react, the intense light and heat emitted by the violent lightning instantly incinerated the asphalt road into ashes and even pierced through the ground!
"Fuck! It's attacking!"
"We're done for, we've received the attack command from above!"
"God help us, God help us!"
The pilots muttered prayers as they tremblingly pressed the launch buttons.
Two missiles ejected, roaring toward the thunderclouds amid trails of smoke.
"Roar!"
A deep, deafening roar echoed.
A golden lion, over ten ters tall, strode out from the thunderclouds. Under the stunned gazes of everyone, it spat a dazzling beam of lightning from its mouth, shattering the missiles head-on.
"Run... Huh?"
"It didn't counterattack?"
The pilots were already prepared to flee for their lives, but to their surprise, the lightning blast from the golden lion wasn't aid at them. After destroying the missiles, it swept past them and disappeared into the clouds like an electromagnetic cannon.
The pilots breathed a sigh of relief.
Thank goodness!
It seed their provocation hadn't angered the other side, and their lives were likely safe.
"Dammit, another attack command?!"
"Where did these idiots co from, giving such reckless orders!"
The drivers' faces turned pale with fury.
They cursed angrily.
"It's not you going to the front lines, so you think you can just sacrifice soldiers at will, is that it?!"
"Ignore them. Just maintain your distance."
At that mont, a voice that was sowhat slurred yet carried an inexplicable authority sounded over the channel.
"No matter the consequences, I'll take full responsibility!"Instructor Nangong!""
"Thank goodness, we're saved at last!"
The drivers finally breathed a sigh of relief, slumping into their seats drenched in sweat.
The Special Zone Security Force had hired quite a few Attack Mages. Out of the nearly four hundred mbers of the security force, about fifty were Attack Mages.
Among these Attack Mages, the one serving as both instructor and leader was none other than the Gap Witch, Nangong Nanyue!
Her status was exceptionally high, not only because of her formidable strength but also because she genuinely cared for her soldiers. Though nominally ranked slightly below the Chief of Security, in the hearts of the team mbers, her orders carried far more weight than the Chief's!
"But, that should be a vampire's familiar, right?"
"No, no, what kind of vampire's familiar could be that powerful?"
No one would believe it.
Summoning thunderclouds that nearly covered the entire Northern Island single-handedly, piercing through the earth with just one strike—in comparison, shattering missiles was nothing!
Even a True Ancestor's familiar couldn't be much stronger than that, could it?
"No, that is undoubtedly a vampire's familiar!"
At a corner of the Northern Island.
On the rooftop of a building, Nangong Nanyue's petite figure stood there, her black gothic dress fluttering in the wind, her youthful face tense.
"The electrical energy accumulated in those thunderclouds is enough to sink the entire Northern Island in one blow! The higher-ups are terrified of that, which is why they're recklessly ordering you to attack, disregarding lives. They're utterly foolish!"
She wore a specially made security force earpiece, her tone filled with contempt for the upper echelons.
If an enemy like that intended to do sothing, there was no way this small force could stop them!
The security team mbers dared not speak.
Nangong Nanyue could freely curse those high-ranking officials, but they couldn't.
"But, a familiar that powerful... surely only a True Ancestor could..."
"That is a True Ancestor's familiar."Nan Gong Na Yue's definitive reply left the entire security force channel in dead silence."
"Not the First, not the Second, not even the Third... but the Fourth True Ancestor, who has never appeared before!"
Everyone was too stunned to speak.
The First True Ancestor, the Lost Warlord.
The Second True Ancestor, the Annihilating Eye.
Both had not been seen for decades.
The Third True Ancestor, the Chaos Princess.
Though still active, her temperant was relatively mild by comparison.
Originally, the world had enjoyed decades of peace under these circumstances.
But now, that peace.
Had been shattered by this riot marking the appearance of the Fourth True Ancestor.
"I-Instructor!"
"What is it?"
"There's a figure erging from those thunderclouds!"
"What?"Nangong Naye quickly focused, channeling magical energy into her eyes."
Within the thunderclouds thousands of ters high.
With no further disturbances, the master controlling the golden lion appeared before everyone.
Beneath the vast, gloomy thunderclouds, the True Ancestor clad head to toe in resplendent golden armor descended like a god commanding thunder, making a grand entrance into the mortal realm.
The sheer impact of this scene left everyone utterly speechless with awe.
In that instant, every cara captured his appearance.
Though it held no real significance.
"Whoosh!"
He erged from the thunderclouds.
Then descended through the sky along gravity's pull.
Precisely landing in the crater torn open by the Golden Lion, he entered the second underground level of North Island.
Watching the figure disappear underground, Nangong Nayue silently tightened her grip on the folding fan in her hand, her fair fingers turning white with tension.
"What exactly are you trying to do?"
