Muramasa was a swordsmith, not a swordsmanship specialist.
He usually just wielded his space-cutting blade a few tis, and the battle would be over.
After all, that sword was downright cheating!
No matter how much weaker the Mors beca, he never noticed.
Because it always ended with a single strike.
"What area is this?"
In the carriage, Okita Souji suddenly thought of sothing and asked Da Vinci-chan.
"Judging by the distance, we should be close to New Darlington, right?"
Da Vinci-chan thought for a mont before giving her answer.
"New Darlington..."
Okita Souji fell into deep thought.
She glanced at the Mors horde defeated by Mash and the others, her eyes darkening for a brief mont.
"What's wrong?"
"No, it's nothing."
Okita Souji silently shook her head.
It's better if you don't know.
"Whoa?!"
"What's going on?"
"The number of Mors has suddenly increased!"
Gudako and the others exclaid in surprise one after another.
Looking outside the carriage, Mors were erging from nowhere, swarming around the vehicle. A rough count showed their numbers had already exceeded thirty!
Moreover.
"Those Mors... they actually have human forms!"
Da Vinci-chan stared at the Mors in astonishnt.
Shouldn't all Mors look like Wobbuffet?
Even the occasional large Mors she'd seen didn't exceed this category—they were just enlarged versions.
So why were the Mors here taking human forms?
It was as if humans had draped themselves in black Mors cloaks!
"Don't let them get close! Their poison is harmful to Gudako!"
"Ah, right!"
Okita Souji's sharp command.
Mash imdiately snapped back to attention and quickly smashed away the approaching humanoid Mors.
"Ahahahahaha! You've finally appeared!"
At that mont.
A mirror-like surface, calm as a lake, appeared not far from the group.
Ripples spread across the mirror's surface, and from it erged a figure as crimson as fresh blood.
"Fairy Knight Tristan?"
Gudako was startled, then suddenly understood.
"That's right, New Darlington is your territory!"
"She's not a Fairy Knight anymore. Her real na is Beryl Gut!"
Artoria added.
Adding insult to injury!
"Shut up!"
Hearing their voices, Beryl Gut glared at them furiously.
"If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have lost my given na, wouldn't have been scolded by Mother! This is all your fault!"
She could never receive another given na now.
The power she gained from her given na had completely disappeared, her strength reduced to that of a lower-class fairy, becoming a low-level vampire fairy who couldn't survive without drinking human blood!
Such strength was completely unworthy of her status as a princess and kingdom heir!
Mother must have been disappointed in her because of this, that's why she looked at her with hatred and said, "Why are you like this again?"
And all of this was the fault of this so-called Child of Prophecy!
I must change Mother's opinion!
"I will never forgive you!"
Intense hatred burned in Beryl Gut's eyes.
"I will prove that I am Mother's true daughter! I am completely worthy of being Mother's daughter, not weak, incompetent, or useless like those people say! Mors, attack!"
With her command.
Dozens of humanoid Mors surged forward, swarming toward the carriage.
Mash and Muramasa were imdiately thrown into disarray.
This number of Mors was never easy to deal with, and to prevent Gudako from being poisoned, they had to keep the Mors horde at a certain distance. The pressure on them was imnse.
Seeing this, Beryl grinned triumphantly.
She produced a dim, grayish orb and channeled her magical energy into it.
Suddenly.
The orb's surface pulsed like a planetary heartbeat, unleashing a black hole-like suction force!
"Ugh!"
Fujimaru Ritsuka's expression changed abruptly.
A violent pulling force erupted from the gray orb, sending her stumbling uncontrollably, flying backward toward it!
"Ritsuka?!"
Artoria was shocked.
She claid to target , but she went after Ritsuka, an ordinary human?
This caught her completely off guard.
Caught unprepared, she didn't even have ti to cast a defensive spell, instinctively reaching out to grab Fujimaru Ritsuka.
But the suction was terrifyingly strong, as if intent on devouring everything into the storm's maw. The overwhelming force sent the slender Artoria flying as well.
As it was about to capture its prey, the gray orb glowed brilliantly!
"Whoosh!"
A figure in vibrant green shot out from the carriage.
Not only did she not resist the suction, she even used it to her advantage, darting past the surrounding Mors in the blink of an eye. Before anyone could process it, she was already standing before Beryl.
"What?"
Beryl was startled.
"Clang!"
A flash of gleaming silver sliced through the air.
Like a teor from the heavens, it pierced straight through the gray orb!
"Crack!"
The orb shattered almost without resistance, crumbling instantly.
The suction ceased abruptly.
Gudako and Artoria plumted toward the ground. Mash and Muramasa rushed forward, catching them just in ti.
They narrowly avoided landing amidst the Mors horde!
"...You really are foolish."
Okita Souji slowly raised her head.
Her cold, executioner-like gaze sent a shiver down Beryl's spine, her triumphant expression instantly replaced by fear.
"Squandering the Queen's favor, and still so unrestrained!"
Let this be a lesson!
She tightened her grip on the hilt.
A swift upward slash!
If this strike landed, Beryl would surely die on the spot!
"Guh...!"
But abruptly.
Okita Souji staggered, collapsing weakly to her knees.
Her face pale, she vomited a large amount of blood, looking utterly sickly.
Beryl was dumbfounded.
She suddenly couldn't make sense of the battle's flow.
"D-don't think you can escape..."
Okita Souji struggled to stand, her deanor threatening death once she recovered.
"!"
Beryl jolted.
"Mirror, mirror, reflect my form!"
Without hesitation, she retreated.
Her figure vanished into the watery mirror, disappearing instantly.
"Guh!"
Okita Souji continued to vomit blood.
Even after Muramasa and the others had finished clearing out the Mors, she still appeared too sickly to get up.
"Speaking of which, Okita Souji does have a legend of being sickly," Muramasa remarked with a pitying expression.
If she hadn't suddenly fallen ill just now, perhaps Barghest would have already been captured.
"Heh, heh..." Gudako forced a dry laugh.
"Yeah, it just so happens to be part of her character setting..." Artoria twitched the corner of her mouth, looking utterly speechless.
So that's how it is.
She finally understood why this damn person had chosen to take on this form!
