Chapter 1699: Ensnared by a Hunk

“She really didn’t attend?”

“She didn’t.” Shen Zhilie shook his head. “In the end, the wedding didn’t take place either, and it caused that huge ruckus.”

Ye Qianqian nodded her head. A thought suddenly occurred to her. She asked, “If your grandma is that mystical, why couldn’t she predict that Guan Queye would create such a scene at the wedding? If your grandmother had known about it earlier, the whole problem wouldn’t have happened, and your brother wouldn’t have had to sit in prison for nothing.”

“I told you, she’s half a deity. The emphasis is on the word ‘half’. That ans she’s only effective half the ti. If she was able to predict everything, wouldn’t that just make her a full deity?”

“You’ve got a point. Well, has your grandmother ever tried to predict when you’ll be getting married?”

“Nope. Now that you ntion it, she’s always divined the futures of other people, but she’s never done it for anyone in the family.”

Ye Qianqian felt her hair standing on its ends. “I think she might be on to sothing. Moreover, isn’t fortune-telling affected by the degree of relation? I think it’s normal that she can’t read the fortunes of those who are related to her by blood. After all, the secrets of the heavens cannot be divulged!”

Shen Zhilie looked surprised and said, “Wow. You seem to know a lot. When we get back, I’ll take you to my grandmother. You’d make a good disciple of hers.”

“Damn you. I’m not out to be a mystic.”

“Haha! Let’s go for dinner. I’m hungry.”

Shen Zhilie pulled Ye Qianqian along as he road the streets and entered a random restaurant.

Most of the restaurants in Italy were elegant.

Even the servers were good looking. They were tall and blonde and handso enough to make a girl see stars.

Ye Qianqian was dreamy-eyed. She looked ready to sell her soul.

As Shen Zhilie ate, he said, “Don’t get fooled by the good looks of the people here. They’re out to trick you into spending more.”

What he said ca true.

Soon enough, a young hunk seed to sense Ye Qianqian’s gaze on him and quickly made his way over. In English, he asked, “Pretty lady, would you like sothing to drink?”

Ye Qianqian felt intoxicated as she replied, “What drinks do you serve?”

Shen Zhilie’s face soured. He interrupted to reply, “That won’t be necessary. Thank you.”

With that, he lightly smacked ye Qianqian on her hand and remarked, “There’s nothing to see there! Stop looking!”

Ye Qianqian paid no heed. She smacked his hand away and dreamily replied, “Just ignore him.”

The young hunk smiled gracefully and made a polite introduction. Ye Qianqian gradually leaned in toward him, keeping her eyes firmly on his face.

Shen Zhilie’s expression darkened. “Ye Qianqian!” he called out.

Ye Qianqian pretended he didn’t exist and carried on her conversation. She said, “Oh, I don’t really know. Why don’t you tell what’s good here?”

“Our signature drink is the Covenant of Romance. It’s 50 euros per serving. Would you like a glass?”

Fifty euros!

“What the hell? That’s daylight robbery!” Shen Zhilie tugged at Ye Qianqian’s arm and said, “That’s about $55! Are you really going to pay for that?”

Ye Qianqian was stunned when she heard the price and blinked her eyes. “It’s that expensive?”

The young hunk chuckled and replied, “It’s as beautiful as you are. Beautiful things are worth exchanging everything for.”

Oh my god...

Ye Qianqian was about to lose her heart. Gazing at his captivating smile, she dazedly extended her index finger and said, “Give a glass, then.”

“Sure. Please wait for a mont.”

The young hunk imdiately left. When Ye Qianqian turned her head, she found Shen Zhilie looking at her with a dark expression.

Ye Qianqian had never seen such an expression on his face before. She cleared her throat. With a guilty-conscience, she said, “Well... I just want to find out what a drink that costs $55 tastes like.”

“It seems more to that you were bewitched by his good looks! How shallow!”
