Chapter 1352: It’s Impossible That They Ever Had A Child Together
To Wen Fenglin, the na “Chi Xian” sounded both familiar and distant at the sa ti. He jerked in surprise and put his bag down. Maintaining a neutral expression, he asked, “What’s wrong? Why are you suddenly bringing her up?”
“Before telling you what we’re about to, I would like to ask you a few questions.” Ou Ming held Yu Lili’s hand with one hand and rested the other on the table as he looked Wen Fenglin calmly in the eye.
“Sure. Ask away.” Wen Fenglin didn’t mind one bit.
At that mont, the service staff brought their order to the table. Wen Fenglin watched as the waitress laid the drinks down and thanked her before looking back at Ou Ming. Beneath his dark-rimd glasses, doubt clouded his eyes. He picked his cup up and took a sip.
Wen Fenglin’s features were pleasant, and the kind smile that was constantly present gave him a clean and comfortable disposition that complented his scholarly bearing.
“Uncle Wen, do you know if Chi Xian ever had a child with Zhen Xianlang all those years back?” Ou Ming asked.
Wen Fenglin suddenly paused in his actions. The smile on his face ebbed off as he looked at Ou Ming. He took his ti to swallow the liquid that was in his mouth before replying,” Zhen Xianlang and Xian’er had a child together?” He repeated the question and shook his head with a laugh. “That’s impossible.”
At Wen Fenglin’s reaction, the guilt in Yu Lili’s heart intensified.
“Xian’er’s body was too weak for child-bearing.” Wen Fenglin put his cup down. The smile on his face disappeared completely. “Her womb couldn’t carry a fetus. Especially since she couldn’t even guarantee the state of her own health, she would never have done sothing that irresponsible. So, it is impossible that they ever had a child together!”
That last statent was made with conviction.
Yes. They all knew that Xian’er’s body was weak, and she couldn’t bear a child. But, she could hire a surrogate. The child produced through surrogacy would still be hers.
Even if Yu Lili hadn’t co from her womb, the blood that flowed through her veins was still Chi Xian’s blood. That was a fact that nobody could change.
After Wen Fenglin voiced the statent, it seed as if sothing crossed his mind. He picked his cup up again and took a sip for a long while. He slowly lowered the cup from his face.
What is he trying to cover behind his action? The more Yu Lili thought about it, the worse she felt.
She nudged Ou Ming, but he spoke up before she could and said, “What if she hired a surrogate?”
If Wen Fenglin hadn’t been too affected by the previous exchange, this question certainly did him in. The liquid in his mouth went down the wrong pipe. Caught unaware, he began coughing vehently.
Yu Lili was taken aback. She quickly ran forward to take his cup from him. She laid it back down on the table and patted his back as she asked in concern, “Uncle Wen?”
Wen Fenglin waved her away and removed Yu Lili’s hand. He replied, “I’m fine. You were saying that Xian’er hired a surrogate?”
Imdiately, Wen Fenglin seed to connect the dots. He looked at Yu Lili. She possessed a special trait. It was a special trait that was very much like Xian’ers. It was in her character, and in her bearing.
In terms of facial features, she didn’t look much like Xian’er. At first glance, no one would have noticed any similarity. As the interactions increased, it beca apparent that Yu Lili was like Xian’er in many ways.
“Are you telling ...” Wen Fenglin was a smart person. With one look, Yu Lili could tell that he had connected the dots.
At that point, Yu Lili couldn’t hold it in any further. She nodded her head and said, “I am very possibly Chi Xian’s daughter. Uncle Wen, I am also very possibly Zhen Xianlang’s daughter...”
