(Four Days Later, The Temporary Arena Constructed Near the Eastern Border)
The temporary arena where Leo was set to fight the Demon King was absolutely massive in size.
Constructed in just under a week, it was by no ans an architectural marvel, but its sheer scale was still staggering to behold.
Spanning over a kiloter in length and one and a half kiloters in width, it straddled both human and demon lands, creating an unofficial middle ground where the fate of both factions would be decided.
Towering stone battlents encircled the fighting grounds, reinforced with mana-infused tals to contain the sheer destruction that was bound to unfold.
It wasn't perfect—ChaosBringer knew that a warrior of Leo's caliber could easily break through the barriers if he wanted—but given the limited ti, this was the best he could manage.
At the very least, the reinforced walls were sturdy enough to absorb shockwaves and mitigate indirect attacks, which was the bare minimum to ensure audience safety.
The match wasn't scheduled to begin for another day, yet the stands were already overflowing with spectators—hundreds of thousands of them.
Humans and demons alike had packed themselves into the makeshift viewing areas that were nothing more than primitive wooden stands held together by support beams.
Though crude, they served their purpose, and despite the long wait ahead, no one was willing to risk losing a pri spot for the greatest duel in history.
On one side sat the human forces—a sea of players and NPCs draped in armor, robes, and all manner of enchanted artifacts. Their expressions were arrogant, everyone wanted to look their best and everyone was checking the other one beside them out, to see who was more wealthy within the ga.
Opposite them sat the demonic horde, their numbers just as vast, if not greater.
However, unlike the humans, who maintained so semblance of civility, the demons showed no signs of it.
They wore minimal clothing, mostly sitting bare chested, as they flexed thief muscles towards the humans, trying to intimidate the other side with their sheer natural size and strength.
And as if that wasn't enough already, they soon began to snarl and growl at random intervals, their deep, guttural voices weaving into a chaotic, deafening chorus.
At first, the humans ignored the provocation, but as the hours dragged on, it evolved into a full-blown competition to see who could be louder.
Every few minutes, a thunderous wave of human cheers and chants would shake the arena, only to be imdiately drowned out by the demons' roaring counterattack.
It was no longer just a duel.
It was a war of pride.
And neither side was willing to back down.
"Fucking demon's, they think they're the bomb screaming like that? I'm so pissed—"
"Bro, look at them flexing their chest muscles at us? That pisses off, because I'm sure they have peas for brains, but I can't shout intelligent insults at them because they won't even understand"
"Gosh, we need a Mr.Olympia here, we need soone with a physique who can put the demons to sha! Where are the sector E worker ants when you need them!"
"Well I can't believe I'm rooting for 'TheBoss' to win now. I ca here hoping to see the Demon King kick his ass but the opposing demons made my blood boil.
Now I want him to win, just because I want to rub it in their obnoxious faces"
The players comnted, as they discussed amongst themselves how much they hated the demons, leading to the hatred burning brighter.
"Look at the tiny humans? They want to challenge our king? They want to take our lands? Who do they think they are?"
"Look at them…. They don't even look like they eat proper at. The Lowborn demon's can easily wipe the floor with them, they look so fragile"
"Nonono, I think you give them too much credit, I think the wives of the Lowborn warriors can easily wipe the floor with them. The humans are just snotty and arrogant, who rely of their machines and tactics to win fights.
One on one, they're dead—"
"Well I'm just excited to see the Demon King in action. I'm rooting for the human to do his best, just so that I can see the King use a fraction of his true strength to crush him.
It's been so long since we last saw the Demon King in battle. It's going to be legendary!"
The demons spoke in demon tongue, as just like the humans, they too insulted the other side and built up anticipation for the fight that was to co.
So talked about strategy, about how the fight would play out.
So talked about the future, about how with an endless amount of human slaves the Demon Kind was going to usher into a new golden age.
Whereas there were just a very few who genuinely took this fight seriously and were worried about the consequences of the loss.
********
(anwhile ChaosBringer)
ChaosBringer secretly began preparing the armies to stand guard and stop the demon invasion if Leo did indeed lose the fight.
Although ChaosBringer trusted in Leo's judgent and genuinely believed he could win, he also took it upon himself to prepare for the scenario where he did not.
Since his agreent with the Demon King was not a legally binding one, ChaosBringer did not intend to honor it should Leo actually lose, and hence he secretly prepared the armies to hold the lines and thwart off the Demon Advance, should Leo fall tomorrow.
"I hope the day where I have to defy your will does not ever co, My Lord, but I refuse to give up the Empire you have so painstakingly conquered to the demons on a whim.
Please win, for it will break my heart to defy your orders…." ChaosBringer said to himself, as he genuinely prayed that Leo did not lose tomorrow.
