(The Demon Capital City, Gorthalon)
A few days after Leo's bold declaration, an envoy of three human ssengers, all fluent in the Demon Tongue, arrived at the massive, iron-plated gates of Gorthalon, the heart of the Demon Kingdom.
Escorted by the notorious Demon Count Vaugn, they were led through the shadowed streets, where grotesque lower demons watched them move from the shadows, their glowing eyes tracking their every movent.
Their destination was the Demon King's Palace, a colossal fortress made from weirdly shaped stones, where the Demon King and the Black Dragon resided.
From there, they were ushered directly into the Demon Courtroom, where the full might of the Demon Council awaited them.
Unlike the structured order of human courts, a full-audience Demon Court was a spectacle of raw, unbridled power—an assembly where only the strong were allowed to speak, and the weak were drowned out.
And amongst the prideful high demons gathered that day, none seed to be keen on letting humans speak.
The mont the envoys stepped inside, the chamber imdiately erupted into jeers and mockery, demonic voices echoing like guttural growls in the vast hall.
"Puny humans, you better pray this eting goes well, or you'll be the main course for tonight's feast!"
"Watch your tongue when speaking to the Demon King, or we shall remove it!"
"What do you weigh, tiny human? 150 pounds? My left leg weighs more than that!"
Their insults, spoken in perfect Demon Tongue, were laced with nace, their sharp-toothed grins making it impossible to tell whether they were joking or making real threats.
However, despite being flanked by dozens of high-ranking demons, the one that the ssengers imdiately feared the most, was unquestionably the Demon King himself.
The great third Demon Ruler Anos.
Seated at the center, upon a throne carved from blackstone and the bones of his enemies, the Demon King exuded absolute dominance.
His crimson eyes burned like molten embers, his massive fra draped in regal yet battle-worn armor.
Every breath he took seed to carry the weight of an ancient storm, his re presence thickening the air.
For Eren and Daemonacles, this was not their first ti standing before the infamous Demon King. The mory of their last audience with him—where they were equally intimidated was still fresh in their minds.
Figir, however, was new to this experience. His fingers twitched ever so slightly as he looked at the Demon King, though he quickly steadied himself, reminding himself of why they had co.
"Silence…." Anos said eventually, raising his palm, as the Courtroom fell into order.
Then, with a sharp motion, Count Vaugn stepped forward and kneeled on the floor with one knee, as he began the introduction.
"Your Majesty, the human envoys have co bearing a ssage from the NEW Emperor of the Unity Empire, apparently the humans have experienced a regi change" Vaugn introduced, as silent murmurs spread throughout the room.
"Yes, scouts inford that there seems to be a regi change in the human lands, and I was curious if it was indeed my friend 'TheBoss' who took the throne or not?" Anos asked, as Eren gulped a mouthful of saliva at the ntion of the word 'Friend' in reference to 'TheBoss'.
"Indeed, Great King Anos, it is as you say. The new Emperor is indeed Lord Boss, who has assud the throne for the past six months" Eren replied, as Anos nodded in acknowledgent.
"I hope he understands what it ans to be King now…. I hope my words of advice will guide him for the days to co" the Demon King said, as murmurs of approval spread throughout the room.
"The Demon King even nurtured the new human Emperor. As expected of Great King Anos!"
"So the new human Emperor is a friend of the King? As expected, he must have helped him from the shadows!"
"The human Emperor should have co here personally to thank the King for his help. Sending ssengers is impudent!"
"Did they co bearing gifts? I don't see any gifts–"
Misunderstandings began to spread within the Demon Council because of the Demon King's words, however, all the kind comnts and goodwill turned into rage, once Daemonacles made his next statent.
"We are here to deliver a ssage on behalf of the Human Emperor, my Lord, if you don't mind…." Daemonacles urged, as Anos gestured for him to read the ssage.
Daemonacles unfolded the scroll sent by ChaosBringer, his fingers tightening slightly around the parchnt as he prepared to read.
The court fell into a patient silence, all eyes locking onto him, as clearing his throat, he began.
"From the desk of His Imperial Majesty, Emperor 'TheBoss' of the Unity Empire—"
"To Demon King Anos of the Demon Kingdom—"
"The war between our nations has persisted long enough, and I'm sure that you agree that it is ti for it to end, not through endless battles, but through a decisive conclusion."
"Thus, I propose a final battle."
"You versus . A duel between kings, where the winner takes all."
"If you win, the Empire is yours, and we beco vassals of the Demon State.
But if I win, the Demon Kingdom shall belong to ."
"The sky is not wide enough for the both of us to exist as the highest authority in this world, and hence I propose that one of us steps down."
"If you are man enough, you will accept my challenge and we shall settle this amongst one another, without sacrificing the lives of the n under us.
But If not, then prepare for war, for the Empire will march into Demon Lands."
"Decide, Demon King. The fate of your people rests upon your answer."
The mont the last word left Daemonacles' lips, the entire court froze.
For a heartbeat, silence hung in the air—thick, suffocating.
Then—
"HOW DARE HE?!" a noble roared, slamming his fist into the stone floor hard enough to crack it.
"BLASPHEMY!" another bellowed, his claws digging into the armrest of his chair.
"The human wretch summons OUR KING like a common gladiator?"
The chamber erupted into chaos.
