The crowd was stunned. Besides the Pill Tower Headquarters, who else could possibly issue a Fourth-Grade Alchemy Master Badge?
The Alchemy King’s expression was icy as he demanded, "Then tell us, where did you get this Alchemist Badge?"
Lin Xuan replied, "It was issued by the Pill Tower, of course."
He paused before adding, "The Pill Tower on Dragon Island."
At these words, the Alchemy King was stunned. Master Song was stunned. All the surrounding Alchemy Masters were stunned, and the Head Tower Master was equally taken aback.
In the next mont, the Head Tower Master exclaid, "How could I have forgotten about that? The Pill Tower on Dragon Island can indeed issue Fourth-Grade Alchemy Master Badges!"
The thought had completely slipped his mind. Getting to Dragon Island was incredibly difficult, and its inhabitants rarely ventured out, so the place had montarily escaped his mory. Lin Xuan’s reminder brought it all back; Dragon Island was indeed qualified.
He hurried over and carefully examined the badge on Lin Xuan’s chest. "It’s true. This is indeed a Fourth-Grade Alchemy Master Badge issued by Dragon Island."
The crowd erupted into an uproar.
Could Lin Xuan have been telling the truth? Was it possible he hadn’t lied? Was he truly a Fourth-Grade Alchemy Master who had passed the test on Dragon Island and earned the badge? Heavens, this was unbelievable! An eighteen-year-old Fourth-Grade Alchemy Master... what kind of talent was this?
The Alchemy King’s face turned incredibly grim, while Master Song looked completely devastated. How could this be happening?
Lin Xuan looked at the Alchemy King and said coldly, "Do you still want to make a move?"
The Alchemy King fell silent. He had just been publicly humiliated by this young man. Damn him. But he no longer had any reason to attack. With a cold snort, he sat back down in his seat.
Lin Xuan then turned to Master Song with a smile. "Now, obediently kneel and kowtow to ten tis."
Master Song’s face went green with rage. This wasn’t just a slap in the face; it was like getting brutally kicked in the face! He was a high and mighty Fourth-Grade Alchemy Master of noble status. Now he was expected to kneel and kowtow? If word of this got out, his reputation would be in tatters. How could he ever show his face in Great Xia again?
"What? Unwilling?" Lin Xuan taunted. "So much for being a ’Master’. You’re just a despicable coward who goes back on his word."
Master Song trembled with anger. He felt his vision darken, nearly fainting from sheer rage. Damned brat! He ground his teeth so hard they nearly shattered, but he did not kneel. Instead, he let out a cold snort and turned to leave.
Watching his retreating back, Lin Xuan called out coolly, "From now on, wherever I am, you’d better make yourself scarce. Otherwise, you’ll still owe ten kowtows the next ti we et."
Hearing this, Master Song stumbled in his anger and fell right over. He then scrambled out of the valley as if fleeing for his life.
Lin Xuan adjusted his alchemy robes and walked forward. He sat down in the seat Master Song had previously occupied, then looked around with a smile. "Don’t just stand there, everyone. Please, have a seat. By the way, what were you all discussing earlier?"
The crowd snapped back to their senses, their expressions complicated. Many of them sucked in a cold breath. This kid is simply unbelievable. He publicly humiliated the Alchemy King and drove Master Song away in a fury. Such thods are truly terrifying. But more importantly, his talent... an eighteen-year-old Fourth-Grade Alchemy Master! His future achievents will be imasurable.
The way they looked at Lin Xuan had changed completely. No one dared to underestimate this young man any longer.
The Head Tower Master also walked over, smiling. "The atmosphere isn’t quite right for sharing insights anymore. Why don’t we exchange so of our Spirit dicines instead? We can see if anyone has Spirit dicines or Pill Recipes we need." It was a good way to break the tension and prevent further awkwardness.
Lin Xuan nodded in agreent. He also wanted to use this opportunity to gather more of the Spirit dicines required for the Ascending Dragon Pill. "I need so Dragon Ganoderma Grass, Jade Bamboo, Seven Star Fruit, Dragon Beard Vine..."
He listed several extrely rare Spirit dicines, shocking the Alchemy Masters around him. What does this kid want so many Spirit dicines for? It feels like they’re all related to Dragon Dao Power... Could he be trying to cultivate Dragon Dao Power and beco a Dragon Warrior? He’s set to lose to Chu Zhongtian in a month. Even if he cultivates it perfectly, Chu Zhongtian will just take all his power away. Isn’t he just doing all the hard work for soone else’s benefit?
While that was their thought, so still brought out their Spirit dicines, prepared to trade. Whether Lin Xuan was just paving the way for his own downfall was his business. Their main concern was whether they could obtain the Spirit dicines they needed from him.
Seeing that they actually possessed the Spirit dicines he required, Lin Xuan was overjoyed. With a wave of his hand, his ring flashed, and a large quantity of Spirit dicines flew out, landing on the table alongside several scrolls.
"Take a look," Lin Xuan said. "See if there’s anything you want. If so, we can exchange imdiately."
These items were all things he had acquired from Dragon Island—so from slain enemies, so Pill Recipes from Qingyou and Situ Hang, and so Spirit dicines from the True Dragon Sect. It could be said that Lin Xuan’s current wealth was exceedingly abundant. The eyes of the surrounding Alchemy Masters lit up at the sight of so many Spirit dicines and Fourth-Grade Pill Recipes.
One Alchemy Master imdiately ca over, having found the Elixirs he needed, and made an exchange. Even those who had originally intended to hold back and not trade with Lin Xuan could no longer remain calm. They eagerly brought out the dicinal Materials he needed to make a deal. Even the Alchemy King stepped forward and traded a stalk of dicinal Material with Lin Xuan.
Lin Xuan was ecstatic to receive so many of the Spirit dicines he needed.
The exchange continued, but Lin Xuan didn’t make any more trades. Instead, he watched the others, which proved to be quite an eye-opening experience. So of the Spirit dicines and Pill Recipes the Alchemy Masters brought out were things he had never even heard of. It truly broadened his horizons.
A day later, the exchange ca to an end. Lin Xuan stood up, preparing to depart.
"Young Master Lin, wait," the Head Tower Master called out, catching up to him.
Lin Xuan stopped and asked, "Is there sothing else?"
"Young Master Lin, are you really going to fight Chu Zhongtian in a month?" the Head Tower Master asked. Hearing this, the others perked up their ears, eager to know the answer as well.
Lin Xuan smiled. "Of course. By the way, if you have ti, you should co and watch."
The Head Tower Master offered so well-intentioned advice. "Young Master Lin, I urge you to reconsider. If it’s possible to avoid the duel, you should. Though you’re a Fourth-Grade Alchemy Master, you are still no match for a Grandmaster. After all, your cultivation is only at the Three-Star Grandmaster realm. The gap between you and a true Grandmaster is simply too vast. You have no chance of winning."
"That’s right," a few other Alchemy Masters chid in, trying to persuade him.
Lin Xuan just laughed. "Don’t worry. A Grandmaster is nothing special. It’s not as if I haven’t killed one before. A re Chu Zhongtian is beneath my notice!"
With that, Lin Xuan turned and left, leaving a dumbfounded crowd in his wake.
The Alchemy Masters were all speechless. What did Lin Xuan just say? That he’s killed a Grandmaster before? What kind of joke is that? The kid must be insane!
"Goodness, Young Master Lin is boasting again," one of them murmured.
"How could he possibly kill a Grandmaster?"
"Even as a Fourth-Grade Alchemy Master with dual Anomalous Fires, it’s impossible to kill a Grandmaster!"
None of them believed a word he said.
The Head Tower Master watched Lin Xuan’s departing figure with a face full of worry.
The Alchemy King, however, simply rolled his eyes. This kid’s boasting is utterly ridiculous. I’ll have to go watch the battle myself in a month. I want to see if this kid can actually kill a Grandmaster. If he’s defeated and crippled, then perhaps I’ll have an opportunity to seize the Anomalous Fires he possesses.
At that thought, the Alchemy King began to look forward to it.
