Chapter 111: Chapter 108: Poor Sister Xian

Sang Nian was smiling aningfully, his two index fingers touching each other with a tap.

However, after their boss finished speaking—

Sang Nian: “…????”

It took a mont for him to process what had been said, and then his eyes bulged out, internally cursing thrice in quick succession.

His innocent and pure heart had been deeply wounded.

Although he had realized their relationship was different ever since that ti he witnessed their boss pinning down his sister Wen Xian and kissing her fiercely in the stairwell, he swears he really hadn’t expected that the two of them had actually, really, you know, done that.

Sang Nian’s ears turned red, feeling both shy and excited.

Truly, their boss was mighty, doing such a thing in broad daylight—

“What are you thinking about?”

Lu Xiao glanced at Sang Nian’s flushed face and asked in a deep, frowning voice.

Sang Nian stamred, “Nothing, I was just thinking, sister Wen Xian is so delicate and fragile, such a great beauty, can she withstand it…”

Upon closer reflection, it really seed quite pitiful for her.

Their boss’s strength could literally be described as terrifying, with all sorts of intense training usually going on.

At this mont, Zha Xi couldn’t bear it, stood up, and directly grabbed Sang Nian by the neck, dragging him away from Lu Xiao: “Kid, you’re inquiring too much.”

Was this sothing he could just speculate about?

Zha Xi promptly saved Sang Nian from a close shave right under Lu Xiao’s watchful eyes.

Lu Xiao’s expression was inscrutable, and he leisurely swallowed the mutton in his mouth, then gave instructions to his subordinate beside him:

“Sang Nian will take over the duty roster for the next month.”

Sang Nian cried himself unconscious in the restroom upon hearing this.

**

Shanghai, Lujiazui.

Wen Xian, wrapped in a white bathrobe, held a glass of red wine in her hand and stood in front of the vast floor-to-ceiling window, overlooking the most bustling section of Shanghai.

Skyscrapers soared; when the lights ca on, Shanghai resembled a city that never slept, bright and dazzling, extravagance radiating from every corner.

In the Shanghai Bund, cruise ships moved slowly, and the Huangpu River shimred like a bright ribbon dotted with starlight under the night sky.

In contrast to the vastness of the west, Shanghai seed like a completely different world.

It was a place of fa and fortune, full of competition, desire, money, and temptation.

The silent warfare of smoke and fire began its prelude.

Wen Xian took a sip of wine, her gaze deep, the dark shades in her eyes complex and unfathomable.

Behind her, the voice of Sister Ling rang out: “There’s a film launch tomorrow, a brand endorsent at Grandma Xiang’s on Thursday, and Friday—”

“Sister Ling.”

Wen Xian interrupted, turning back to look at her, “Could you help check if there are any cooperation projects related to the Tibetan Area, like films or brand activities in the west, especially in Qinghai?”

Sister Ling was a slightly plump woman, fiery in spirit, yet exceptionally shrewd and capable.

She and Wen Xian worked together, a powerful alliance.

Upon hearing this, Sister Ling was taken aback, but then a glint of light flickered in her eyes:

“It seems you’ve encountered sothing or soone in Qinghai that has profoundly impacted you. Let’s do this, I won’t pry into the details for now. Considering just the suggestion you’ve made, I think it’s an excellent proposal.”

As she spoke, she pulled up a file from her iPad for Wen Xian to see.

“This is a script from director Li Xun, whom you know is one of our country’s top directors specializing in international award-winning films. He has a project that’s set to start shooting in the west this year, but he’s very picky with his actors—”

Before she could finish, Wen Xian felt a sudden tremor in her heart and imdiately said, “Sister Ling, no matter what it costs, we must secure that script—!”
