Selene POV
I reached out for Maeve again, but she pressed closer to Xavier tightening her hand around his neck.
"Maeve, co to this instance," I said angrily, trying to remove her from Xavier’s grip.
"No!" she scread "I don’t want to co with you,".
"Maeve," my tone went a touch higher "I am not in the mood to do this with you. Co with this instant,".
"Let the girl be, Selene," Xavier said quietly "We should be talking about how to settle all of these now. A lot of things have happened no doubt and now that we’ve t each other, we should be together as family,".
"In your dreams, Xavier," I laughed "You think we’re ever going to be as family? Have you forgotten that I am engaged to be married to soone else? Besides you think after hurting , that I’ll just walk into your arms, just like that? What do you take for?"
"Selene, I..." he started to say.
"We’re never going to go back to what we were before. You are my past and I intend to keep it that way. Now give the girl!".

"I don’t want to," I said stubbornly "I know he’s your nephew and you’re trying to protect him but if I tell you half of the things, I suffered in the hands of that man, you won’t be saying this to . Let’s just go, I’m exhausted,".
"Olivia," he cupped my face with his hands, his eyes gazing tenderly at "I would feel like a fraud if things don’t get settled. Please...".
I rolled my eyes, hating the fact that Noah made sense. This was bound to happen, sooner or later, so we might as well get it over and done with.
"Fine," I said and stalked back to where he was standing.
As soon as we got closer to him, Maeve ran back to him, and entered into his arms. Vina was still standing behind , I could feel her hesitating, I could tell she wanted to go to her dad too.
Noah ca to stand behind , "There’s a private lounge in the airport, we could go there and talk,". he suggested.
I brushed past Xavier, with Vina in my wake as I exited the plane. Few minutes after we exited the plane, barely a 100teres away from it, when a loud eruption shook the ground sending us all flying in different direction.
For a mont, after I fell, everything seed hazy. My ears were ringing and I just laid motionless on the ground. I don’t know how long I was there for but long enough for Noah to crawl to .
"Oliva," I heard him shouting as he shook gently. His voice sounded from afar and blood was oozing out from the side of his face. "Olivia, you’ve got to stand up, we need to get away from here, now," he said.
I tried to move but my body wouldn’t budge. I turned my head to the side, that was when I caught a glimpse of Xavier with Maeve and Vina in his hands, they all looks tattered with their hair sticking out from any corner and they were running towards .
I couldn’t fell my legs, I couldn’t feel my hands, it seed every part of my body had gone numb.
I felt myself being hoisted up and then running footsteps. I could hear people shouting all around and all I wanted to do at that mont was close my eyes. A few seconds later, another loud eruption echoed.
"Stay with , Olivia," I heard Noah’s voice again but this ti, it seed closer and clearer "You’ll be fine honey. I promise,".

My gaze travelled the length of the room, taking note of the white walls that stared back at and the blue curtains that hovered around the window. I turned my eyes and noticed there were two other beds in the room with .
I blinked severally trying to make out the figures lying on the bed through my blurry vision. I froze in shock when it cleared and I saw that it was Maeve and Vina. I imdiately, jerked into a sitting position and swung my legs out of the bed.
"Vina, Maeve," I cried out in alarm rushing towards them.
But as soon as my feet hit the ground, I crumpled to the floor.
"Selene, you’re awake," Xavier suddenly rushed to help to my feet "You shouldn’t exert yourself too much, they doctor says you need rest,".
"The kids," I tapped at him, trying to get to them.
"They’re fine," he said dragging back to my bed "They’re just resting. You’ve. Been unconscious for a while now," he explained settling on my bed "The girls are fine, but we were worried about you,".
"Oh," I sighed in relief "They were lying so lifeless, that I thought sothing was wrong. What of Noah?" I asked looking around the room "Is he alright?"
"He sustained a few injuries but he has healed up properly," Xavier said. "How do you feel? Do you want anything? Should I call the doctor?" he asked.
I took in the anxiety in his brows and for a mont, I recalled the argunt that we had before the incident.
"How about you? Are you fine?" My gaze travelled all over his body, stopping at his wrist, currently wrapped in a bandage.
"Yeah," he nodded giving a smile "My healing is a lot slower but I feel better than I felt yesterday and do you know that the girls already have a wolf?" He said excitedly "I couldn’t believe m y eyes yesterday. They changed into their wolve forms in their sleep and by this morning, they were as good as new,".
"Yeah," I chuckled "They were born with,".
His eyes widened with surprise "Really?" he asked.
"Yeah," I nodded desperate to change th topic "By the way, do we know wht happened? Was anyone hurt?"
"We lost the pilot and a few of the airport staff that were onboard but else that everyone is fine. We’re working with the security to find out what happened but they think it’s a bomb,".
"A bomb?" But who could have dared? "The Lycan King was to travel with that,".
"Beats my imagination too," Xavier sighed "I think whoever it is that set the bomb didn’t calculate it well and so it exploded before it supposed ti, I think but we think it’s the foxes or from our enemy pack. Lucius is looking into it at the mont,".
"Oh, goddess," I sighed "That was a deliberate ploy as far as I’m concerned. Whoever placed that bomb on that plane was targeting soone,".
"Yeah," Xavier nodded and said solemnly "I think it was you and the girls,".
