Andria’s POV
"Well, if it weren’t for this intruder, we wouldn’t even be fighting," Becca said, pointing aggressively at Felicia.
"Oh, please, I’m not your problem. Besides, I’m not the one who threw a violent party," Felicia retorted.
"Well, you can bla the mad dog that’s your sister’s friend, Alexa," Becca shot back.
"Mad dog, oh please, Becca don’t..."
"Enough," Sir Kaelric growled, his voice reverberated, causing all of us to shudder.
A deafening silence followed suit, as Sir Kaelric studied both of them with an irritated expression flashing across his features.
"It isn’t enough that all of you offended the school by breaking the school rules and were put in detention, you go ahead to turn the detention cafeteria into another war zone.
This definitely isn’t why you were taught combat, to practice it on each other, but to prepare yourselves for any intrusion by our enemies, and when I say enemies, I an the vampires, the ones your sister prefers to have alliances with."
Sir Kaelric said, looking at Felicia, " and also against outcasts that could also attack us, like the ones you, Liara, decided to party with.
After befriending enemies and outcasts, you fight yourselves. What a sha! Against the kingdom and the academy’s standards."
Felicia and Liara hung their head, not daring to utter another word in protest. I was surprised by how Sir Kaelric handles this whole issue without bias. Liara is his cousin, yet he remains neutral when it cos to justice, with no sentint attached.
"And you," he said, looking over to Allison, "I heard that you beat up your fellow student to the extent she was hospitalised, you should have saved that energy for outsiders."
"But, Sir..." Allison started.
"Don’t interrupt when I speak, especially when I’m not lying," Sir Kaelric cut her off firmly, causing her to twist her face in embarrassnt and recoil.
I could see Liara’s lip twitch mockingly, suppressing a chuckle. Felicia, on the other hand, bit her lips and then sighed in relief.
Allison swallowed, irritation written all over her face, as if she were ready to slap Liara, too.
"Whatever Alexa did wasn’t enough for you to beat her up that way. But it seems you have sothing to say, and since I wasn’t in school that day, neither was I in school that night, I would love to hear from you. And just know that I’ll verify from other students too if you lie."
"Thank you," Allison muttered.
"I didn’t hear you," Sir Kaelric said.
"Thank you, Sir," Allison growled.
"Ok, much better," Sir Kaelric said, raising one of his eyebrows for her to continue.
"Alexa attacked , and all I did was defend against her attack. It went on like that, and soon we were exchanging fists.
I think she was high on so substance, because I didn’t do much for her to slump. Her face grew pale, and I doubted if it was my defence that put her in that state.
Everyone who attended that ga night could attest to it that Alexa was being overly chaotic and confrontational, even to the extent of being violent towards ," Allison narrated.
Sir Kaelric nodded his head, clicking his teeth as well. His expression told that he didn’t quite believe what Allison just said.
"But not long ago, you were almost ready to fight because I asked you not to interrupt . Not long ago, you were exchanging words with your fellow student despite being in detention.
If I hadn’t interrupted, who knows, it would have blown up to a whole fight like the one at the ga night."
"No, sir. I was the victim in the ga night, I just happened to be more sober and stronger," Allison defended.
"I’ll find that out. For now, just know that you are the offender, because Alexa incurred injuries from your little defence," Sir Kaelric said sarcastically.
"Over to you, Aria and Becca. What ca over you two to throw a ga night? Not only did you throw a ga night, because the school isn’t against it, but you invited students you knew you weren’t on good terms with," Sir Kaelric asked, stepping closer to us.
I was lost for words, because at first, I never bought the idea of that ga night. l sohow persuaded to accept it, and now she isn’t even here to bear the brunt of the outco with us.
"Sir," Becca began.
"Yes, go on," Sir Kaelric said, nodding his head.
I could see Felicia and Liara furrow their faces. Felicia but her lips aggressively, while Liara rolled her eyes in a way that it looked like her eyes could fall out of her sockets.
"It wasn’t our idea to organize the ga night; it was l’s. l was the one who convinced us to invite Alexa and Tricia, with the intention of sorting out whatever strife we had between us.
We thought it over and agreed that we wanted the strife between us gone, and maybe the ga night was just the best opportunity.
But unfortunately for us, they ca with their own agenda, which we don’t know if it was a set-up.
Alexa acted intentionally aggressively throughout the ga night, and no matter how I pleaded and scolded, she wasn’t heeding.
She ended up taking it out with Allison and ending up in the school’s hospital, and l, on the other hand, because for reasons best known to Aria didn’t let her host the event, therefore she deed it fit to lie against us to the headmistress..." Becca reported.
"And how sure are you that l was the one who reported you?" Sir Kaelric interrupted.
Becca opened her mouth and closed it, not knowing what else to say.
Sir Kaelric was visibly irritated because he wasn’t taking it easy on us this afternoon. I sensed that sothing must have gone wrong wherever he was coming from.
"So Aria, why didn’t you allow l to host the ga night she initiated?" Sir Kaelric asked.
I swallowed before answering him. "She was being extra, and I suspected trouble right from the beginning. The way she insisted that Alexa and Tricia should co, and the way she also wanted the Alpha successors present..."
"So this was about safeguarding the successors? Jealousy isn’t it?" he interrupted.
Liara burst out laughing, and Felicia chuckled slightly.
"Shut up, you two. What’s there to laugh about? Haven’t you both done much worse?"
Liara and Felicia twisted their mouths, swallowing their laughter as fast as it ca.
I sensed Sir Kaelric’s wolf; there was a subtle feeling of jealousy within. I dared not speak.
He stepped closer to until he was close enough to whisper, his breath fanning my ear. "Would you have protected as much if I were the one?"
He stepped back, adjusting the tie on his neck.
I opened my mouth to say sothing, but he raised his index finger at , and I swallowed my words imdiately.
"You have nothing to say. If you had let her do her thing, only that you wouldn’t have invited the Alpha successors, you wouldn’t have been in this ss right now."
He was right, and I hated it. He wasn’t speaking to like his mate; he was talking to like just another ordinary student in Ashwood. Every ounce of chemistry between us is vanishing.
I swallowed hard. Athena stirred disturbingly inside .
"Felicia, because of a particular plea, you would be released from our detention first thing tomorrow morning. Never set foot in Ashwood again. Or else, this punishnt will be considered less than what you would face."
Felicia’s face bead with gratitude and surprise.
"I’ll look into your case," he said, looking at Allison, Becca, and , then turned towards the door, opened it, and shut it behind him.
"I think I’ve lost my appetite," Liara told Felicia and turned towards the door, Felicia following her behind like her puppet.
Allison, Becca and I burst out laughing imdiately.
"What a show!" Allison said, clicking her teeth.
"Now I can eat in peace," Becca added.
"My food is already cold, I don’t think I can eat it," Allison said.
"Get another one then, you don’t have to eat the cold one," Becca said.
Allison walked back to the counter with her tray of cold food. I have gotten my food, so we got our food at the sa ti.
"I like it when Sir Kaelric handles an issue," Becca spoke after a while.
"You wouldn’t like it if you were on the offending side. He is very critical, and sotis, you would end up as the offender," I corrected her.
"That’s true," Allison said, nodding her head.
"Speaking from experience," Becca said, and we burst out laughing.
Not long after, the guard ca back. "It’s ti to return to your detention room, you have overstayed your lunch ti."
"This feels like prison," Becca muttered.
"It is, Becca," Allison said, rolling her tongue in her mouth, as we moved towards our room.
