Andria’s POV

The silence that followed was electric. My pulse drumd in my throat, and I could feel the heat rising in my face. He ca closer, plopping on the seat close to . I could sll him, and it was driving insane.

I wanted to devour him this ti. Why was I having these dirty thoughts? Was it how you feel after bonding with that one mate?

His voice dropped lower. "Tell sothing, Aria. Do you always let your emotions dictate your actions? Or was that performance an exception?"

I hated how my breath hitched. He was back to reprimanding again, but this ti, I felt he was talking out of jealousy and a need to control. However, I would respond, after all, he is my teacher, and this is the Academy’s ground. "It wasn’t..."

"Because I’ve seen what happens when you are pushed. I’ve been observing you for the longest ti, rember?" His eyes darkened. "No one, including your other mates and friends, knows you better than I do."

"Are you blackmailing ?" I snapped before I could stop myself.

"Oh, really?" He leaned in, his voice barely above a whisper now. "I just stated facts; besides, there is no need to blackmail you if there’s nothing I’m expecting to get from you."

My hands shot to my lap instinctively, clenching into fists. "Then what is this all about? Because it sure seems as though you are expecting sothing from ."

He smiled slowly, knowingly, and infuriatingly. "You’re deflecting."

"And you’re overstepping," I shot back, though my voice didn’t sound as confident as I wanted.

He didn’t deny it. Of course, he wouldn’t. Kaelric never denied what he ant. That was what made him dangerous.

"I’m not here to scold you for what happened with Damon," he said finally, straightening. "I’m here because the council wants answers about the fight between Jason and Aven, Liara and you.

You are to drop a statent in your defence about what had happened that night that had led to that fight."

My throat went dry. "Oh, I see, but I wish I had beaten Liara enough to earn this," I muttered under my breath.

"You are so feisty, Aria. Don’t forget Liara is my cousin. But that doesn’t cover her either; she would face the law if she broke it. But you fought, and you also have to face yours, too."

"It’s not like I asked for it. I loved Liara, but she has been ssing up lately. Her wickedness, that I cannot condone, especially when it is directed towards the ones I care for." I murmured.

"I know." His tone softened, "I’m not blaming you at all. I saw the incident, but you offended the school rules by letting your emotions overtake you."

His words carried weight. Too much weight. The kind that made my chest tighten and my thoughts spiral out of control.

I tried to steady my breathing. "And what do you see as?"

For a mont, he didn’t answer. He just looked at , like he was trying to decide how much truth to give.

Finally, he said, "A problem I can’t seem to solve."

That one hit harder than I expected. "Then maybe you should stop trying to solve ," I said quietly.

He smiled again, that dangerous smile that didn’t reach his eyes. "If only it were that easy, Ari."

We just stared at each other, silence hanging in the balance between us. My pulse was hamring so loud I was sure he could hear it, his face was so close to mine now, and his breath was fanning my face.

He took my face in his hands. "You are mine, Ari, or have you forgotten so easily?"

I bit my lower lip, trying to fight the intense rush of heat and desire coursing through my core. But it did nothing, I got wetter under his dreamy gaze.

"You know, when you bite your lips, you don’t make it any easier for or yourself either," he said, twisting his lips into a seductive grin. "You are wet for , Ari. I can sll your scent."

He said it with this voice that made goosebumps rise on my skin. It was a whisper that made shudder in pleasure.

"Sir, please..."

"Yeah, continue with the word ’Sir’ and I might take you right here on top of the council chairs. I sar your scent here, so that whenever you step into this room, you wouldn’t be able to shake off the experience."

He was threatening , but it sounded so hot, I wouldn’t mind being caught in the act.

"Such a naughty little wolf," he said, his face looking so corky.

Finally, he stepped back and folded his arms. "The school council will want your statent tomorrow morning. I suggest you prepare for it."

"Is that all?" I asked, readjusting myself quickly. How could he leave hanging like this, knowing well that everything about now turned on.

"For now," he replied, standing up from the seat."But, Aria..."

I froze. "Yes?"

His voice dropped again, low and certain. "Stay away from Damon. And Aven, for now. Whatever you think is happening between you three, it’s going to destroy you if you’re not careful."

I felt my chest tighten. "Why do you care? What’s happening between us poses a greater threat than theirs."

He gave a humorless laugh, the kind that sounded like it hurt. "Because, Wolfsburn," he said, using my surna, maybe to make it sound more serious, "Whether I like it or not, I do care, and I can tell that it is getting risky.

Not saying you should stay out of them completely, which I would love, but for now just give them space, and let this chaos co down."

The words sank deep into ; they made a bit restless. And before I could think of a response, he turned and walked toward the window, his back to .

"Dismissed," he said quietly.

I stood there for a long mont, trying to catch my breath, trying to make sense of what had happened just now, but none of this, nothing about Sir Kaelric, made sense. He was so possessive, so demanding, all the attitudes I didn’t like, but I was drawn to him.

He softened parts of that the earlier years of my life had hardened.

I walked towards the door and opened it. But before I left, I had to say this, "I think Jackson is missing; he wasn’t in the student council room for the eting this morning, and that’s quite unlike him."
