I sat in my study, applying the potion on her side, and hoping that she would suddenly stir on the bed.
I never felt this vulnerable. It reminded of the night my father died, the night I swore to get stronger, the night I swore never to be a vulnerable victim ever again.
Assassins were supposed to kill the king, but they mistook my father for the king, because the king was his twin brother.
My dad was the second twin, so the throne was passed down to the present king instead of him.
My dad was to be the next in command to the king, almost yielding the sa authority as the king.
We were ambushed, and my mum and I were made to watch the assassins behead my father in cold blood.
I scread, but my screams fell on deaf ears. When they were done, they released us and fled.
I couldn’t pursue them because I was still very young, about five years of age.
I decided to start training because even though I was born a Dravari, it wasn’t enough to battle unseen forces. So Dravaris were assassins too; therefore, I needed strength, hence my love for combat.
Aria stirred on her bed, causing to turn and face her, disrupting my thoughts.
"You are awake already?" I asked, my heart and wolf leaping in excitent. Her face looked weak, but she was awake, and that was all that mattered.
"Didn’t know you would even recover as fast as you did. The arrow wasn’t just poisoned with wolf’s bane, but also with a wolf’s bane extract, which is also very harmful to vampires.
It doesn’t harm the vampire as much as the wolf, but its pain is intense enough to weaken the vampire’s strength montarily.
The attacker intended to kill your wolf because with the wolf’s bane extract, your wolf could instantly die if your wolf isn’t strong enough to endure the pain...
Her wolf is a strong one, probably an Alpha Lunara. And her vampire side is strong, too. She possesses a lot of chaos within her, which, when channelled properly, will benefit the kingdom, but if not, it will bring disaster and ruin.
And the most fascinating fact is that she isn’t aware of her powers.
My eyes t her eyes for a mont. I felt her energy; it was inviting. Her wolf was excited, and I was getting lost in her.

"I can sll that delicious scent from you again, even more powerful this ti."
I could sll her; she needed to know her scent betrayed her. But she wasn’t fighting, her body seed to be yielding, and her scent seed to get stronger.
She isn’t in her heat, but her body just went into heat on its own. She wanted , she desired , and that was all it took to drive over the edge.
Her eyes scread, ’Claim , I’m all yours. ’ I could tell even without the words.
In one swift motion, I cupped her in my arms. Her fra was so fragile and soft for one possessing such inner strength.

"I’m Athena," the gentle voice of her wolf responded. She was built exactly as her na. She looked like a warrior. When I saw her amongst the forest, her recovery too matched that of a warrior wolf, which could survive everything.
Our little lip dance turned into a fiery passion, our hands suddenly searching our bodies. I placed my hand brushing the small of her back slightly at first, and then, turning aggressive, the more our lips and tongues synced.
