Andria’s POV
"Seriously, I’ve been waiting for you for ages," she said, freezing mid-step when she saw the scene.
"Did I interrupt sothing?"
"You have no idea," Damon muttered.
I turned to her, relief flooding . "Actually, you ca just in ti."
Michaela raised a brow. "Great. Because Becca and Arlo finished practice early and they’re waiting...for us outside."
She spoke the last sentence carefully, studying the scene and then turning to wink at , as if suggesting that I had a lot of gist to tell her later.
I nodded quickly, ignoring her expression, already grabbing my bag. "Perfect."
Zade’s voice followed as I moved toward the door. "This isn’t over, Aria."
I paused just long enough to glance back. "It is, at least for today."
He looked at longingly and then hissed before turning to leave.
Aven stepped aside to let pass, his expression unreadable. Damon looked like he wanted to say sothing, but didn’t.
Tristan gave a slight nod, bringing out his hands for in a dramatic way, paving the way for .
As soon as we stepped out, Michaela exhaled dramatically. "What in the Moon’s na was that?"
"Nothing I want to relive," I muttered, rubbing my temples.
"That was nothing," she said, eyeing . "You looked like you were about to punch soone, or maybe kiss them."
I glared at her. "Not funny."
"Gosh, so it is true that the Alpha successors are swooning over you, including the Alpha of the silver night pack," she squealed, nudging .
"The moon goddess was just so generous with you, I an, look at you and the hottest Alphas in school. You know how many she-wolves will die for that?" she chuckled.
"Can we not?" I said sharply, quickening my pace.
"You are such a killjoy," she muttered under her breath, pouting at .
I couldn’t help chuckling at her cute expression.
We found Becca and Arlo lounging near the benches, laughing over sothing on Becca’s phone.
"Took you long enough," Becca called. "I thought maybe one of the Alpha successors or Sir Kaelric kidnapped you or sothing."
"Close enough," Michaela said, dropping beside her.
Becca raised a brow at . "You okay? You look like you just survived a battle."
"I did," I said dryly. "A verbal one."
"Yeah, she was caught between four hottest Alphas," Michaela announced.
I shot her a glare, and she quickly shut up.
Arlo grinned. "Ah, the classic Alpha stare-down. Who won?"
"No one," I replied. "Because I left before they could start asuring their egos."
Becca laughed. "Smart move," she said, clapping .
"Anyway, practice was good today. Damon and Tristan dominated, as usual. Aven didn’t even have to try," Michaela blurted, changing the topic very fast as if she had read my mind.
"It wasn’t so good in our group. Allison kept trying to boss us around, Jackson the jerk kept puffing around and trying to flirt with Liara, which triggered Allison a lot, so she clashed with Liara so many tis," Becca hissed.
"How is Liara? It’s been a while, I’ve been wanting to see her, but each ti I tend to forget," I said with a low tone.
"We have actually been procrastinating going to see her. Maybe we should go see her after lunch today," Michaela suggested.
"anwhile, I caught Arlo and Becca flirting throughout practice. I wonder how Allison must have been feeling," Michaela said in between chuckles.
A faint blush appeared on Becca’s face. "You should mind your business often, Michaela or maybe ask the moon goddess to get you a mate," Becca responded, rolling her eyes playfully at Michaela.
"Ah, I see, Ari, remind not to play with Becca again, she has a smart tongue," she said, and we all burst out laughing.
I rolled my eyes. "You two flirt enough to power the entire Academy," I said, picking up from where Michaela had stopped.
"Please," Becca said. "Let live a little. Not all of us have a brooding line of Alpha males waiting for us."
"Don’t remind , smart tongue", I muttered.
"Speaking of waiting," Arlo said, leaning forward. "How did the student council eting go? I heard Allison stord out again."
"Of course she did," I replied. "She hates losing votes."
"Let guess," Becca said. "It was over sothing dramatic?"
"l suggested a kissing booth for the fundraiser," I said, watching their expressions.
Michaela’s mouth fell open. "A what?"
Becca gasped, nearly spilling her drink. "Did you approve that?"
"I didn’t approve it," I said quickly. "I voted for it."
"Sa thing," Becca said, grinning. "You voted for a kissing booth? Oh, I can’t wait to see the chaos that causes."
Arlo laughed. "You do realize half the school’s going to sign up just to see which Alpha you’ll be paired with, right?"
"Not happening," I said firmly.
Michaela gave a knowing smile. "You sure? Because I can already picture Damon volunteering just to annoy Zade."
"Stop giving people ideas," I groaned.
Becca nudged playfully. "Admit it. You kind of like the attention."
"I like peace," I replied, sinking onto the bench. "Unfortunately, that’s impossible around here."
"Soon, every student will be talking about it. I’m excited to see how the event turns out," Michaela squealed.
Arlo stretched his legs out. "Well, whatever happens, it’s going to be entertaining. Especially if Zade is still lurking around."
"What do you an?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
I wondered if he knew the connection between and Zade or if he had noticed how uncomfortable I get whenever he was around.
Or maybe he was just referring to him because he was the fourth wheel student, a mate who wasn’t a successor.
"Well, you know Zade has a weird obsession for you, sotis even more than the other successors. I noticed how he stares at you.
He isn’t in the sa class as us, but I notice how he cos close to our class just after the day’s classes and studies till you gets into the cafeteria," Arlo explained.
I was stunned at his observation, but I didn’t dare to say a word. I was bothered by the obsession.
He already compares to Andria, and now I’m finding out that he monitors my activities.
How much longer before he finds out my true identity? I’ve got to be more careful with my movents around Ashwood.
